    • ( 171 ) O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs. Refrence : Quran word of allah and allah said it before 1444 ~ aprox

He said, 'He [Jesus Christ (peace be upon him)] is a Prophet.'" Conclusion:- *John 17:3* "[Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) said] And this is eternal life, that they know you, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) whom you have sent."

    • Yes. I actually use this in my arguments, and I'm not even a Muslim. The best argument for the trinity is that every mind we are aware of is triune. Every known mind consists of a consciousness, a subconsciousness and the connection between them, three personalities in one mysterious union that we don't really understand yet. And yet, they would vie. And so I consider G-d having an abnormal mind to be more convincing. Also a being that powerful becoming a human seems illogical.

It's as if the responder was saying, "Hold your horses, my friend, let's not put the divine in a box of human logic!" In truth, it's a delightful reminder that sometimes our human faculties fall short when it comes to comprehending the unfathomable. So, let us share a chuckle and marvel at the paradoxes that pepper our philosophical discussions. After all, a dash of humor can add a touch of levity to even the weightiest of debates!

    • @@samm9318 Do the following passages not suggest that the concept of the Trinity is mentioned in the Bible? Matthew 3:16-17 describes the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. Here is the passage from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible: "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.'" This passage demonstrates the simultaneous presence of the three persons of the Trinity: Jesus being baptized, the Holy Spirit descending like a dove, and the voice of the Father speaking from heaven. It serves as an example where all three persons of the Trinity are mentioned together, indicating their distinct yet unified roles in this significant event. Matthew 28:19 contains the words of Jesus known as the Great Commission. Here is the passage from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." In this verse, Jesus instructs His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. As part of this instruction, He specifically mentions the act of baptizing believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This verse presents the three persons of the Trinity together in the context of baptism and the mission of spreading the teachings of Jesus to all people.

    • @@samm9318 Your ponderings upon the mention of the Trinity within the sacred passages doth captivate my attention. The intricate interplay betwixt implicit allusions and explicit references beckons us to embark upon a journey of logical deduction. Should we accept the veiled nature of the Trinity, its emergence would be expected to bear the weight of logical coherence, free from the shackles of self-contradiction. Thus, the very assertion posited by the original querist is rendered invalid, as thy discerning mind hath discerned. Now, let us turn our gaze to your inquiry, wherein I humbly assert that neither of the aforementioned passages doth unequivocally proffer the concept of the Trinity. Your endeavor to interpret these verses through the lens of Christology is comprehensible, yet it behooves us to disengage from such paradigms and approach them with an objective scrutiny. Perchance, consider Matthew 3:16-17, which doth bear semblance to 2 Samuel 7:14, wherein it is proclaimed that God shall be a Father to David, and David shall be His son. Verily, a voice declaring Jesus as "my son" from the celestial realms doth not inherently signify the Trinity. As for Matthew 28:19, naught within that verse explicitly declares the Son and the Holy Spirit to be distinct entities within the Godhead. In truth, it has been suggested by a church father that the current formulation may be an alteration, veering from the original verse that accentuated baptism in the name of the Son alone. Nonetheless, even in its present guise, a verse exhorting baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit doth not perforce imply the existence of three distinct personages within a unified Godhead.

    • If we can't trust our brains to differentiate between contradictions and truth then why god created it like that? God should clarify the message in a way we understand. There's literally no reason to be a Christian when you have islam. More clear doctrine. more authentic book with no changes. We have a lot of evidence to prove our religion is from god. No contradictions. Literally about 99% of what christians doesn't like in islam is present more evidently in Christianity. Hope you do some more research and don't be like those (When it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has revealed,” they reply, “No! We ˹only˺ follow what we found our forefathers practicing.” ˹Would they still do so˺ even if Satan is inviting them to the torment of the Blaze?)

    • @@samm9318 The Bible also does not mention galaxies, planets, black holes etc. but it says Host of Heaven. If it does not mention its names does that mean they do not exist? No! The Bible puts all of them in the word Host of Heaven and the Trinity is put when Jesus says e.g. Father and I are one or the during Jesus’s baptism. Secondly, trinity is supported by the Revelation because we learn that Satan will mimick God and bring forth antichrist and false prophet who will convince people about this antichrist. Satan will be above them and they will form one system because they come from Satan, they are part of him but they will have different roles that complement each other. The same we can observe with Trinity. There is God and He exists in three persons God the Father, Christ and Holy Spirit who convinces us and brings us to Christ. They come from One God but they have different roles.

  • The reason you can tell Jordan is incredibly intelligent while everyone is mocking him is that he’s the only one that assumed that God would be a being that we cannot possibly comprehend in fullness, therefore we also cannot possibly rationalize him by any human method. Science is simply insufficient to explain God, because it’s a flawed system produced by comparably far lesser beings. Edit: Moreover, if we could fully understand God, than He truly would not be God.

Logic and the law of non contradiction is the only thing that we know for sure is 100% true. You can't even have science if you don't have these two things. You can't have math, you can't have anything. These two thing are the base of reality. If you can't come to a rational or logical conclusion to the trinity, but you can come to a rational/logical conclusion to Islam, Islam is the truth. Christians are idol worshipers because they associate other beings with God. We know intuitively that God is One.

    • @@benjamintrevino325 Why do you profess to know so much about the Bible? Therein, God's nature is revealed, the Author of love and logic. His attributes of omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence are explained. And His willingness to give eternal life as a gift to those who accept Him, with no strings attached. The latter alone sets him spart from all other (false) faiths that require man to do the impossible, which is to be good. Now you and I know that all men lie, cheat, steal or worse. Sin our nature: nobody needs to teach us to be greedy and unkind. So what about the Trinity? That God is three persons in one cannot be grasped by a non-Christian, and most Christians are poor theologians, though blessed with the assurance of eternal life. What makes it so difficult to mentally encompass the Trinity is the fact that no two organic substances are identical...every blade of grass is different in some way. But we do have absolute identicalness in the inorganic realm: all sodium chloride molecules are identical, all ribosomes are identical and all hydrogen hydroxil ions are identical. Would you not agree that ice, water and steam are three distinct objects yet one and the same substance? You see, you and I will always only know in part, since man cannot rise above himself. And history is heavily punctuated by man's efforts to replace God with routinely catastrophic results. I like what one gifted mind once wrote: she said, "So stupid is man that if God answered every one of his prayers, he would be ruined at his own request." We can get to the moon but cannot get along with each other...never as evidenced by wars. Is man basically good? Answer yes only if you do not lock your door, don't use a password or don't act cautiously when approached by a stranger. I think your greatest strength is intellectual curiosity. But don't confine yourself to empiricism, which places its eyes in its hand sees only what it can touch. That will get you drunk on humanism and limit your understanding of anything spiritual. By thinking you are wise, you are guaranteed to become a fool.

    • @helloplopman oh boy here we go a Muslims favorite counter to Muhammad's kiddie diddling. Ok so in the story of Isaac and Rebekah, the Bible clearly infers the age of a woman when it comes to Rebekah as she carried large pitchers of water to quench the thirst of the camels. This was a role for the women at that time. She was old enough for the consensual act of marriage as was asked of her ("yes I will go"). Muslims always like to state that she was three at the time of marriage but this is absurd as they get the math wrong according to when Sarah dies at 100+ yrs old. They will say that the account of rebekah's birth happens exactly tye moment Sarah died which puts her as young as they state, however it isn't the case. Time is passed and Rebekah matures enough to be married when appropriate. If you would actually research your claims instead of spouting them bc they help your case with your prophet, Muslims would not make these claims. Furthermore, let us assume that an important figure in Christian history does something as appalling as marrying children and consumating with them. This does not hurt the Christian case as we are not beholden to act the way that figure did. We do not hold that figure as a moral example like we do with Jesus. Yet Muslims hold Muhammad (and all his evils) as a moral standard for everybody in the world including today. That's is where the problem lies. If it was just that Muhammad married and sleeped with children as it was customary back then but not today, it would be a different issue as I understand cultural differences despite it being a bad one. However Muhammad is hailed by Muslims to be the great example to all of mankind. Big No, I follow Jesus who never slept with the women let alone children that he created, who forgives his enemies and those who insult him instead of sending people to kill them, and who never beat anybody like Muhammad beat his child bride

    • @@nunya54False on every level. The Gospel of John states Jesus claimed to be God. The earliest fragment of John is dated 130 AD, a far cry from the 600 years you claim. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are quoted by Ignatius (one of the early church fathers) in a letter from 95 AD meaning they must have been written before that. This puts them in line with verifiable eyewitnesses who knew Jesus. Thomas the disciple declared concerning Jesus, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28). Jesus does not correct him. Titus 2:13 encourages us to wait for the coming of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ (see also 2 Peter 1:1). In Hebrews 1:8, the Father declares of Jesus, “But about the Son He says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.’” The Father refers to Jesus as God, indicating that Jesus is indeed God. In Revelation, an angel instructed the apostle John to only worship God (Revelation 19:10). Several times in Scripture Jesus receives worship (Matthew 2:11; 14:33; 28:9, 17; Luke 24:52; John 9:38). He never rebukes people for worshiping Him. The truth is that you never come up against a time in the Christian church where Jesus isn't worshipped as God.

  • Apostle Paul wrote 1 Timothy 3:16 1 Timothy 3:16 (ACV) And without controversy great is the mystery of piety. God was manifested in flesh, justified in spirit, seen by heavenly agents, proclaimed among nations, believed in the world, taken up in glory. Apostle Paul wrote here that Jesus was God manifested in human flesh, this was what Paul believed. This dual nature is a mystery and difficult to comprehend. An analogy to help us understand is a 3 dimensional object we know can also manifest itself in two or one dimension, without sacrificing or diminishing its 3 dimensional properties. Jesus while human remain as God and in full connection to God the Father. Yes His human body limit the full expression of God, but that does not make Him less of God. He need to manifest in human form so humans can relate to Him, In the same way a 3 dimensional creature shows itself in two dimensions so that two dimensional creatures can relate to it. He also need to be human to offer Himself as perfect sacrifice for humanity's sins. The dual nature of Jesus is reason why in the Bible Jesus is sometimes refer as the Son of God, (Luke 1:35, Matthew 3:17, John 5:26) and sometimes as the Son of Man. (Acts 7:56, Matthew 8:20, Matthew 20:28). 1 Timothy 6:16 tells us God the Father was invisible, but God the Son was made visible as written by same author Apostle Paul in Colossian 1:15-17 Colossians 1:15-17 (ACV) who is an image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Because in him all things were created, things in the heavens and things upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or lordships or principal offices or positions of authority, all things have been created And he is before all, and in him all things hold together. Jesus told the Jews He and the Father are one, when the Jews heard this they wanted to stone Him because they understood He was saying He is of same essence as God John 10:30-33 (ACV) I and the Father are one. Therefore again the Jews took up stones so that they might stone him. Jesus answered them, I have shown you many good works from my Father. Because of them, which work do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, We stone thee not about a good work, but about blasphemy, and because thou, being a man, make thyself God. When Jesus died, His human nature died , but He remains as Son of God, the Trinity can never be broken. Just as we cannot remove the division of time, the past, present and future existed as one harmonious entity When Paul asked the pagans to turn from worthless idols to the One true and living God (Acts 14:14-15), it is because in the Old testament Paul learned that God created everything, we are to worship the One Creator not worship the creations, though creation sometimes reflect the nature of God. Genesis 1:26 (ACV) And God said, Let us (plural) make man in our (plural) image--after our(plural) likeness--and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that But interesting during creation God refers to Himself in plural in Gen 1:26, suggesting there is more than one Person involved in creation. Which means God is One yet three Persons. We can try to understand concept of Trinity when we look at the characteristic of time:the past is distinct from the present, which is distinct from the future. Each is simultaneous, yet they are not three ‘times’ but one. All three aspect of time all share the same nature: time. So each division of time is interdependent of each other. Time shows the concept of the Trinity is not self contradictory . The past always come before the present and future , each division of time play different roles or functions , but same essence with each other . The Time dimension is a reflection of the Creator, who is One true God with 3 persons : Father, Son and Holy Spirit interdependent of each other, yet same essence. The Bible describes God as existing since eternality, past, present, future, neverending from past to future : Revelation 1:8 (ACV) I am the Alpha and the Omega, says Lord, the God who is (present) and who was(past) and who is coming (future) , the Almighty. Jesus is Son of God, He fulfills the role of the Son, that is why in 1 Corinthians 11:3 He is under the Father. The Father cannot be under or lower than the Son, that will not make sense. Just as in the time dimension , the present cannot come before the past, that will not make sense. By definition the present has to be after the past, and by definition the Son has to be below and lesser than the Father. Although in terms of role the Son is under the Father, but the Son of God is still God, , He existed eternally as Son of God, that is why Jesus told the Jews before Abraham was, He exists , which the Jews again wanted to stone Him for saying this. John 8:57-59 (ACV) The Jews therefore said to him, Thou have not yet fifty years, and thou have seen Abraham? Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I am. Therefore they took up stones so that they might throw at him, but Jesus was hid, and went out of the temple, having passed through the midst of them, and thus passed on. Another verse says Jesus shared glory with the Father before creation: John 17:4-5 (ACV) I glorified thee on the earth. I finished the work which thou have given me that I should do. And now, Father, glorify thou me with thyself with the glory that I had with thee before the world was. This verse suggest Jesus was with God before creation so He is not created And the Father initiated salvation by giving the Son to sinners, that they may be forgiven and have everlasting life. The Holy Spirit who is God also (Acts 5:3-4) does the work of giving understanding to the scripture and transforming people. John 3:16-18 (ACV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, so that every man who believes in him would not perish, but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world not that he might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not condemned. He who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

What about the prophecy by the prophet Isaiah that “The Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call his name Immanuel (which means “God with us”)? As the scientists study more, they realize how little they know about it and every discovery raises more questions than answers. Consider the following: i. Light can exist as a particle and wave(Two things entirely different)at the same time. ii. At the quantum level, the same sub atomic particle can exist in two places at the same time and communicate between themselves, even if separated by a huge distance. How is it possible? No one knows. My question is: a) If a beam of light can have dual nature, is it possible for it's creator to have a dual nature- God and human? b) If a tiny sub atomic particle can exist in two places at the same time,is it possible for its creator to exist as Father, son and the Holy Spirit? c) If our scientists are unable to fully comprehend the tiny sub atomic particle, will it ever be possible for the humans to fully comprehend God?

Of course it has to deal with science the mainstream isn't really familiar with regarding how dimensions work and what it would mean for a higher dimensional being to enter a lower one. This is especially complicated if we consider that all space, matter and time is created by this Being who by definition is outside of it. The fact that we currently exist inside of this constructed universe thus restricts our understanding of anything outside of space matter and time.

    • @jamesalston7474 God being in essence outside of the universe in no way means that he is limited from entering or interacting with it. If he couldn't, then we would have absolutely no way interacting with him. Even according to Muslims, Allah gave Muhammed the Quran. This means that he in some way interacted with the universe. That doesn't mean that he is a part of it or understandable to created beings. An imperfect analogy would be like a person sticking his hand into a river and the fish seeing his fingers. The fingers may tell the fish something about the being that they are attached to, but the fish could never figure out what a human really is or how one works by just the fingers alone. Obviously since God is infinite and wholly other, the analogy is imperfect, but it demonstrates the point. Also, Christians affirm that Jesus was a man. Christ has two natures: human and divine. It is important to remember that Christians don't believe that Jesus has existed or does exist AS A MAN for all eternity. The son is synonymous with God's word (the way by which he does all things). Christians believe that God's word took on a human flesh. Jesus is his human name, but the word has not always existed as Jesus. In no way is God human in essence.

      @zachwalters5709@zachwalters57096 ай бұрын

Jesus ate food but he is self sufficient? He exited the womb of a woman but he has no beginning. He said that only the father knows this and that ect. I think that is why no Jew for thousands of years came to the Trinity conclusion nor did any Christian I know of before the 3rd century. That should tell us a lot

But after the council of Nicaea in 325 AD (which convened of the first place because of what Aryan Christianity said about Jesus) they concluded that Jesus was just as divine as God and because their organization had bishops in strong places the faction that was created after the council won out

Stating that "God can do anything" is not an actual argument for the claim that God does things which completely go against what He himself has said. Thats like saying God can lie if he wants because hes God and he does what he wants... that completely goes against his majesty as God and what He has claimed for himself. Allah literally says in the Quran he has no parents and no children. What your saying is blasphemous from a Muslim perspective. God (or Jesus for that matter) never stated that He was a trinity. Your defending a nonsensical innovation of your own Religion... even Christians who do their historical research know the trinity was added hundreds of years later based on Greek metaphysics. This argument is child level...

And since we know God is love, and he does not rely on anything outside of himself to express love, he must have a way within himself to give and receive or express love. Another thing to consider as well is the triune nature of the atoms, and the triune nature in the very fabric of creation.

  • While St Augustine was working on his book "On the Trinity", he was walking by the seaside one day, meditating on the difficult problem of how God could be three Persons at once. He came upon a little child. The child had dug a little hole in the sand, and with a small spoon or seashell was scooping water from the sea into the small hole. Augustine watched him for a while and finally asked the child what he was doing. The child answered that he would scoop all the water from the sea and pour it into the little hole in the sand. ‘What?’ Augustine said. ‘That is impossible. Obviously, the sea is too large and the hole too small.’ ‘Indeed,’ said the child, ‘but I will sooner draw all the water from the sea and empty it into this hole than you will succeed in penetrating the mystery of the Holy Trinity with your limited understanding.’ Augustine turned away in amazement and when he looked back the child had disappeared.

They are One in the same. They are not separate gods they are God in One. Now, the simple conception to explain the Trinity is: water. Water has 3 forms (ok maybe there's a 4th and 5th form but let's not complicate it) solid, gas, and liquid. So they have different forms, but at the end of the day it's H20. Still water. Maybe that's a poor explanation, but I find the Trinity adds depth to the nature of God not contradictory.

  • I'm not a fan of the ways of Hijab's conversing and debating, however i believe that Hijab has a a strong point. By knowing the basics of logic, i.e., the rational judgments (the necessary, the possible, and the impossible), and by knowing from where they came, what they mean, and how they work, one can tell that it is rationally impossible for a god that is absolute to have a son, eat, or be subject to time and space. If it is the case, whom we called god will be contingent or an accident, or subject to accidents , just like me and you, and the laws of nature applies to this god as well. In this case rationally it is impossible for him to be god. These are the limits, I believe, that we need, to know how to address god, or to know him, and to know ourselves and our limits of course. beyond that is incomprehensible. Another very important point, if the limits of the human reason are not enough to comprehend the concept of the creator or god in a manner that makes sense, then it is not possible to talk about god at all! Because nothing makes sense then and it waisting for time. Therefore, we should have some sort of limits that makes us comprehend the concept of the creator up to the point that makes it possible to know and acknowledge him, hence worship him. Another point in easier terms maybe: if we accepted that there is a thing that is absolute, it is impossible to have another absolute, for the first absolute already prevails. If one asks, there are two absolutes or more in multi dimensions, i have then to ask from where they came, and who made them. The logic says that it is impossible that an absolute, i.e. a necessary thing, brings or creates another absolute. I will be happy to clarify more if there is a question or receive a disagreement with its clarification.

  • The traditional Christian teaching that God is three persons in one God, and even more to call the three persons "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit" has led to some of the confusion we see today. This starts, like all the great Christian misrenderings not clarified and not explained, from the overwhelming dominance of the "Catholic matrix". The concept of the Trinity was created by gentiles who could not understand the Jewish mentality (Jesus himself, the apostles, the authors of the New Testament and many of the early Christians were of Jewish origin, not to be forgotten). If someone asks is Jesus God? Obviously, such a question cannot be answered directly with a yes or no. First: does the question refer to whether Jesus is the only God who created everything? Or if Jesus is God for us Christians? And here comes the answer: to understand this, it is the same as considering when someone speaks and you hear his voice and you know it is your friend "Nelson", is the voice Nelson? or does it have distinctive qualities of Nelson? Obviously the voice itself is not Nelson, but comes from him and therefore has all his attributes, and his identity. With God and Jesus it is the same: Jesus is the word of God (John 1:1), and therefore has all the attributes and all the identity of God, but the God who created everything and who is unique is God, which is where Jesus came from; that is why Jesus is also the only begotten Son of God. So answering the questions "Is Jesus that one God who created everything?" no, "Is Jesus God to Christians?" Yes and obviously yes, since He comes from God and is the expression of God Himself, He is the way to Him and has His authority; therefore for us Christians Jesus is God. So also with so many passages of the Old Testament in which God speaks and says that He is going to do this or that, and then that same thing is fulfilled in Jesus in the New Testament. It was the voice of God speaking, which is Jesus. Something similar occurs with the Holy Spirit: when God created the first man, Adam, and breathed into him the breath of life (which was not yet the Holy Spirit of God, but serves as an explanation), that breath of life that God breathed in Adam, was it God? no, but coming from God he had the qualities of God and the identity of God; Well, the same thing happens with the Holy Spirit: that Holy Spirit given to Christians, is it by itself that God who created everything? no; for us Christians, is that Holy Spirit God? Yes, since it comes from God, it has the identity of God, and it is part of God. But of course instead of explaining all this as they should, no, the Catholic Church directly and wildly said "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit", NO, things need to be explained. As from a teacher to his student, that is what it means to be a church, according to 1 Corinthians 14:34–35 (meaning that men did ask and the pastor or presbyter taught; it was in each Christian family home: Romans 16:5; 1 Corinthians 16:19; Colossians 4:15; Philemon 2). In a few words: the Son of God, Word of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are both direct representatives of God who share in the divine essence, although not being God himself. But because of that, the two are like God for us Christians. Note: 1 John 5:7 was not in the original New Testament manuscripts, it was added later: "For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one" That can be found in a Google search that was like this. It is held by all theologians and biblical scholars. The commandment by Jesus: "Go to all the world and reach to every creature baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit is only based on what was explained before. He was assuring his apostles that He, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the 2 who have God's essence and are, therefore, direct representatives of God. Also to keep in mind, and as I always say it is necessary to consider the culture in Therefore, we Christians DO BELIEVE IN 1 GOD. Follow my Quora: Gabriel Kerreta

At John 17:21, 22, he prayed to God that his disciples “may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us, . . . that they may be one just as we are one.” Was Jesus praying that all his disciples would become a single entity? No, obviously Jesus was praying that they would be united in thought and purpose, as he and God were.-See also 1 Corinthians 1:10. At 1 Corinthians 3:6, 8, Paul says: “I planted, Apollos watered . . . He that plants and he that waters are one.” Paul did not mean that he and Apollos were two persons in one; he meant that they were unified in purpose. The Greek word that Paul used here for “one” (hen) is neuter, literally “one (thing),” indicating oneness in cooperation. It is the same word that Jesus used at John 10:30 to describe his relationship with his Father. It is also the same word that Jesus used at John 17:21, 22. So when he used the word “one” (hen) in these cases, he was talking about unity of thought and purpose. Regarding John 10:30, John Calvin (who was a Trinitarian) said in the book Commentary on the Gospel According to John: “The ancients made a wrong use of this passage to prove that Christ is . . . of the same essence with the Father. For Christ does not argue about the unity of substance, but about the agreement which he has with the Father.” Right in the context of the verses after John 10:30, Jesus forcefully argued that his words were not a claim to be God. He asked the Jews who wrongly drew that conclusion and wanted to stone him: “Why do you charge me with blasphemy because I, consecrated and sent into the world by the Father, said, ‘I am God’s son’?” (John 10:31-36, NE) No, Jesus claimed that he was, not God the Son, but the Son of God.

  • 2:25 Hijab brings up two things: 1. Three all powerful entities (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit) would be competing. 2. He claims that Jesus as both a man and a God at the same time is a contradiction. I am a hindu. For me, since childhood the concepts of one God manifesting in different forms (the Hindu trinity - Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma) and the avatar of Sri Rama for example (who is God but also human, in his human form he suppresses two out of the 16 qualities of God) were very normal. I never found them contradictory, and I understood them easily. I think the innate beliefs that Hijab has grown up with is dictating what he finds to be logical or illogical. If you ask believers from other faiths, we do not find any contradiction here. An all powerful entity would not necessarily compete with another. Maybe they never compete, that is how their nature is? And if someone is all-powerful, is it inconceivable for that someone to manifest in a human form, and still maintain his heavenly realm? I would say the answer is a clear no.

Serve Allah, Who is your Lord and my Lord.’ Allah has forbidden Paradise to those who associate anything with Him in His divinity and their refuge shall be the Fire. No one will be able to help such wrong-doers. *JESUS IS NOT GOD* *JESUS IS NOT A SON OF GOD* *JESUS WAS NEVER SACRIFICED OR KILLED* Quran 4:157 and for boasting, “We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” But they neither killed nor crucified him-it was only made to appear so. Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge whatsoever-only making assumptions. They certainly did not kill him. How to accept Islam? You have to believe that there is only one God, Allah, who created the entire universe, and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is his final messenger on earth. Many disciples did not know of the other disciples when writing the bible. Over the estimate of 2,000, all of the disciples stories, messages, and prophecy’s have come true, and we aren’t even talking about the New Testament. Not only that, explorers have literally found pieces of Noah’s arc, the staff position of Moses parting the seas, and more. If Jesus was GOD, then why in Mark 12:29 Jesus said "Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." The words "our God" indicate that Jesus had a higher God over him, a stronger God than him. Jesus didn't say "Your God". He said "our God" which includes Jesus as the creation of GOD. If Jesus was GOD, then why did he ask for GOD's Forgiveness in Luke 23:34? Luke 23:34 " Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." If Jesus was GOD, then why Mark 15:34 says "And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" If Jesus was GOD, then did Paul say in 1 Corinthians 8:6 "yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we VAclive." If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 20:17 Jesus said "Do not hold on to me, forl have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'l am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God. '" If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said "I do nothing of myself" ? John 8:28 " Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things." Also in Luke 18:19 Jesus said only GOD Almighty is Good: ""Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good except God alone." If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 26:39 Jesus begged his GOD to have mercy on him and to pass the cup to death (kill Jesus in another words) before Jesus goes through the pain of crucifixion? If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 18:38 he didn't reply when he was asked about the truth? If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 24:36 Jesus said "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Jesus told his followers that no one (including Jesus) knows when the judgment day will come, only GOD knows? •..... John 5:37 " And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape" If Jesus was GOD, then why did he pray to his GOD in Luke 5:16? Luke 5:16 "And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed." Matthew 26:39 "And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. If Jesus was GOD, then how come in Hebrew 5:7 he prayed and cried for GOD to hear him and give him mercy by saving him from death? If Jesus was GOD, then how come in John 1:18 he said "No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the FATHER'S side, has made HIM known." Where do you see Trinity in this Verse? If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 17:3 he said " And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3 (Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.) If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:40 he said " But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham." If Jesus was GOD, then why in Numbers 23:19 he said (GOD is not a man neither the Son of man) " God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 17:25 he said ( and these have known that thou hast sent me.) "O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me" If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 15:24 he said “ But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

  • This has been striking a nerve in people I see. People are focusing too much on his initial statement "I'm not interested in being a rational actor," instead of what was said after. Strong words, to be sure, but y'all should know this man chooses his words carefully. Notice he also admitted that when engaged in scientific work, he's absolutely interested in being rational, as well as acknowledging Hijab's point that this seemed paradoxical. Listen to what Peterson says as he tries to breakdown how he arrived at this point. He's saying that to attempt to explain the transcendent using logic misses the point in some fundamental way. That to constrict EVERY point of the human experience into a rational framework would be losing something. That the dreamlike and magical thinking of our psyches must be satisfied somehow, and that means leaving the door open to things that just don't make sense to us right here, right now. Besides, that struck me a strange move by Hijab to call the Trinity into question on the grounds that it "made no sense". Dude, you're a Muslim. You ALSO believe in a God, Angels, divine revelation, etc. It's not as if your religion is entirely rational. I suppose you could argue about just how much irrationality one is willing to tolerate in their worldview but...I get the feeling Hijab isn't interested in a discussion like that. Few would be, I admit. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth having. That being said, Hijab made for a terrific video, and I really respect him for sharing his perspectives with non-Muslims. • Religion, as an institution, has unfortunately been at times manipulated by governments or individuals in positions of power to oppress others. It brings to mind a certain movie where the plot involves a character posing as a religious figure, using the guise of faith to justify and command acts of violence, inquisition, and holy wars against those who are considered 'non-believers' by their standards. It is important to emphasize that these instances of misuse and violence do not represent the beliefs and values of the majority of individuals who practice their faith peacefully. People of faith, in their everyday lives, generally have no issue with the beliefs and worship practices of others. However, it is concerning when a lack of faith in one's own convictions leads some individuals to seek validation and support from others who share their cause, often at the expense of tolerance and understanding. It is crucial to recognize that religious beliefs and practices vary greatly among individuals and communities. It would be unfair to generalize or label an entire faith based on the actions of a minority. The majority of people who follow a religious path find solace, inspiration, and guidance within their faith traditions, and they strive to promote compassion, love, and understanding. Nevertheless, it is important to critically examine and address instances where religion is misused or exploited for political or personal gain. Promoting open dialogue, understanding, and respect among different faith traditions is key to countering intolerance and working towards a more peaceful and harmonious coexistence.

    • Point taken, but Christians often embrace a blind faith, perceiving that the God they worship, who possesses his own intolerance, favors solely their cause and punishes all others. Anyone who simply holds a differing viewpoint is regarded as a creation of their devil and is denied equal rights. Such individuals are deemed either obligated to accept Jesus or unworthy of existence itself. This mindset, characterized by the conviction of "God told me," poses a perilous threat and obstructs the recognition of experiential truths. Certain individuals exploit this notion of "knowing God's will" to exert control over others. This situation arises when a religion prioritizes its "religious" aspects over spirituality and intellect. This outlook has profoundly impacted the rights of non-Christians in India and numerous other regions throughout history. Naturally, I do not generalize this sentiment to encompass all Christians, as most Christians embrace a live-and-let-live philosophy and exhibit minimal interest in proselytizing. I am specifically referring to the evangelical, fundamentalist Christian supremacists who fervently desire a world where everyone adheres to Jesus in prayer. But then again the non-fundamentalist Christians do not oppose this. While individuals should possess the freedom to select their own faith, when an expansionist religion promotes deceit as a means of conversion, that freedom becomes tainted. It appears that these right-wing Christians intend to convince Hindus that they suffer from a metaphorical ailment and then proceed to offer their remedy for this "non-Christian" condition to Hindus and other non-Christians. They firmly believe that the God of the Old Testament deemed all humans sinners and that the God of the New Testament (Jesus) sacrificed himself to absolve us of those sins. Christians tend to believe blindly that their God, who is himself quite intolerant, is on their side alone and punishes all others. If anyone merely disagrees, that person is a product of their devil and does not deserve equal rights. That person either needs to accept Jesus, or is considered unworthy of life itself. Their ‘God told me’ mentality is dangerous and a detriment to experiential truths. Such people can use this ‘I know what God wants’ concept, to gain power over others. This is what happens when a religion is more “religious” than it is spiritual or for that matter, intellectual. Missionaries attempt to break up their families, consume and appropriate their culture and attempt to ridicule away their religion or worse, assimilate it into their own by transforming it into something they can more easily understand and tolerate. Missionaries are not heroes. They are just people who have been taught from early childhood to believe that what they think, is superior to what others think. What is the difference between a Christian supremacist who dreams of one dominant world religion and a white supremacist who dreams of one dominant world race? Some missionaries have endangered tribal people who are susceptible to diseases from the outside world. The common cold or flu could wipe them out. The missionaries know this but they don’t care because they are only concerned with, as they say “establishing the kingdom of Jesus”.

    • Good thing we have biblical manuscripts all the way from the first century. Good thing we have so many copies that all corroborate each other. The Bible was finished being written 2000 years ago. People may change out but we can go back to original manuscripts. This is why we know the best translations nowadays. You make statements but don't realize the history of Islam at all. When have Christians done this though? The colonialists were doing it for money and adventure. Christopher Columbus wasn't trying to spread Christianity. THat's not a holy war. the crusades happened because Islamic states were slowly taking over all of Europe. They fought back. It had more to do with territory. War isn't really Christian . If not for the crusades all the inventions we see now wouldn't exist because they came from Christian society. I don't know what movie you're talking about.

    • Actually, the true teachings of great Mystics such as Jesus, Buddha, Krishna and Mohammed can only be SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED. It can not be understood through the erroneous human intellect. Therefore, the Error is with the Intellect, not with God, which is not a being, but Rather, BEING ITSELF(Infinite, Incorporeal, Omnipresent Consciousness)!!! Now ask this one question... What is the Nature of Matter?? Answer: ILLUSORY Therefore, anything of a material nature, including your body and your mind, are in fact nothing more than illusory sense of being(ERRONEOUS), while INCORPOREAL OMNIPRESENCE is OUR ONE AND ONLY STATE OF BEING! God IS. Therefore I Am..... Not my human form, no, the I in the Midst of Me is God, or you may call it CONSCIOUSNESS!!
