McConnell putting off impeachment until it was "unconstitutional" is exactly the amount of hypocrisy I expected from the GOP.
Not GOP the N A Z I.
I mean - except it makes no sense that it would be unconstitutional and the document itself doesn't support it being unconstitutional. Honestly, even if they don't convict they should clearly state that it *wasn't* because of a question of it being 'unconstitutional' to convict after resignation.

Alternate take: Cherish every moment of knowing your are superior!
We're not, but that doesn't allow us to be naughty ALL the time...
I feel like that is because of the lack of how kids are raised and what is expected of them as adults. Schools try to teach kids today to respect others. But schools don't really emphasize how. And its hard to enforce kids when parents don't add to those teachings. There is also the sense of entitlement. Some of that entitlement is just from being naive and not having to deal with hardships. With no hardships, there is the lack of understanding the sacrifices others have to make. Or a reason to retain that knowledge. Also, as an adult, there is nothing to stop or create consequences, except for crimes. With the poor quality of jobs, its easier to tell your boss to screw off and find a new one than to deal with something they don't like to do. And easier to leave because the job doesn't respect their workers by providing benefits and raises. You don't like someone? Well then you can easily block them out of your life. Doesn't matter if they are your brother or sister, mother or father - Blocked in a split second and then distance themselves from the particular person. It could be for anything stupid. Like what you wear, what you look like, how you act, how you talk, how you walk, etc. Also, it is easier to find things that you like or prefer. So, people close their minds to other opinions. And if they can't except it.... then oh well... I'm just confused on how people care more about themselves than others. I guess when you reach the peak of youth, you have nothing else to do but play games on other people's lives. Aka Ego and power. Like these people in the government have money, nice homes, nice cars, and enough to retire. And yet, they don't leave and don't care about anything but their egos. They wouldn't have to worry about egos if they did the right thing for the general public. Ironically, a fair number of them have been married at some point. They choose stress over going somewhere nice to retire and not worry about endless bickering. At this point, you don't even need to make sense in what you say.
I think there's probably a name for that condition in the DSM 5.

I can't even imagine how history will remember all of this
Rewritten history as usual
Acquitted! Victory! The swamp WILL be drained.
"And thus, major Republicans turned their heads down in shame during the showing of the impeachment video." That is how the history books will describe the end of the Dumb era.
@Michael Pondo then why are they worshipping a golden calf?
They are as children and know not what they do
I don't think it was shame. It was their attempt to remain in their denial bubbles.
@@janinecarson8380 No one thinks that. They have no shame.
Zoom cat lawyer would have been a far better option than Bruce Castor. 😂
I'm not a cat. That was funny.
Actually no. Look him up. He's a rather nasty former prosecutor from Texas, who harassed and then abused police power to destroy his ex-lover's life. Using the pretext that her head shop was selling synthetic marijuana (none found when SWAT raided the place).
He was clear and concise. He ain't a cat and is prepared to proceed as a cat. 😂
@@CrimsonBlasphemy ... I think that’s the point. Someone that awful, who, on top of being awful, didn’t even put in the time to figure out how his presentation was going to be, before a Judge, would still be better. But I could be wrong.
That was next level hysterical...hahaha!
It's about preventing the rewriting of history.
I remember listening to to Castor, and thinking "what is this guy talking about? It has nothing to do with the trial". Turns out, I was not the only one. LOL
The GOP Congress is the living embodiment of the Upton Sinclair quote "it is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."

He wants to talk about how rare impeachment is, well ask him how long it's been since the last time a coup was attempted in the capital. It's a shorter list.
Certainly a lot less common than BJs in the Oval Office.
That's poetic.
The last time was on Nov 7, 1983 when the US Capitol was bombed by leftist revolutionaries called the Communist Organization. One of the people arrested for the plot was Susan Rosenberg who was pardoned by Clinton on the way out the door. She nows serves as the head of blm global network. Any other questions?
T. L. Yes. Can I have sources on those claims?
@@MinistryofPeace I think that is an extremely pertinent example of what needs to be done with Donald Trump. I agree that: 1) a 50-year jail sentence would be fair for Trump; 2) I think it would send the right message to the people about the consequences of sedition against the USA; and, 3) i agree with his sentence being commuted after 16 years; it's merciful, and it's enough time served for the point to be made and some semblance of justice to be satisfied. ... And as a bonus, Trump can use that 16 years to write books and poetry and be as prolific and loud as he wants, from a jail cell, just like Rosenberg. Are we in agreement?
This is signature Colbert. Love it!
It's sad that in the US, one depends on cable news for entertainment, and entertainers for news.
If the Republicans had done their job the first time, there wouldn't have had to be a second impeachment.
I actually McConnell was president during trumps **term! No ifs, ands or buts him and Lindsey Graham were president during that time! trump**,was just the mouthpiece. Trump got played by Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham!,!
We all know they were using him to push through their judges. The rest of them showed a lack of moral and ethical courage.
I halfway agree with you. But I think the 6th would've happened sooner & we'd have had to have the same second impeachment & then possibly a third & so on & so forth.
Not gonna lie, I kinda want Pence to testify against Trump.
That’s exactly what a liar would say.

The GOP senators are going to put their own political self-interest ahead of America's interests. Wouldn't be the first time.
Yep, most of them won't vote for impeachment because all they care about is their own re-election. Selfish scumbags and traitors.
But it should be their last.
@@jasonarthurs3885 It should, but it probably isn't. Most Republican voters either don't care or are too dumb to understand what's going on.

Ron Johnson being reminded to breathe, priceless. However, I wish he hadn't been reminded to breathe. Why would Pelosi incite a crowd that went after her and trashed her office? DUH, How do these people get elected?

I think it's for the same reason why class jerks and bullies still have friends - the people they don't pick on love seeing what they do to someone else, they get a thrill out of seeing someone hurt as long as it's not them.
