  • I run the coil spring helper bags inside my rears in a lowered yukon that I tow with. Trying to be cheap I installed a generic 12v compressor on the frame but used airlifts control gauge that powers and releases the air. I run 5 psi unloaded and 50 (max) during towing and I’ve been pleased with it. Going on 5 years now and the dash control of up and down is a game changer. They do sell a compressor to for around 100 IIRC but my $30 generic compressor works fine. I also keep the manual fill port in case of a compressor failure.

  • We had these bags on a Chevy delivery truck, LOVED them! I wanted to get these for my 2010 Tundra, unfortunately AirLift doesn't make this style kit for my truck, they make a bag with an internal bump stop that fits under the frame and attaches to the top of the leaf spring. Long story short, me personally, I hated them. Went with a different brand air spring kit and added cradles so the underside of the bag can float if it needs to for articulation. Most people don't realize how limiting a bag can be.

    @brandonmoore5968@brandonmoore59689 ай бұрын
  • Well this is crazy... Chris I had installed the same kit maybe just a year ago bc I tow a small 6'x10' cargo trailer and my '03 Tundra's box with a Workman cap covering the bed is filled with things that already are a load for the old shocks and leaf springs... yeah it was a definite neccessary addition to have better steering axle control and now I see less of the hood out over the steering wheel. If you know what I mean. I'm going back to the video now to see how your install went; with help and a lift at my mechanic's shop we, he and I installed this kit within a couple hours. Drilling into the frame for the mounts was a bit of a task... I can't wait to see how you manage... we both being in our 60's and not the healthiest dudes manhandled that drill together... Also I placed the valves up in the driver's side rear wheel well, there were holes there already. I'm in the furnace state of AZ and I worry those rubber bags are drying out fast. So how are they so far? Well I didn't tow now for some time but just the other day I hitched up my cargo trailer and needed to add air to the bags, I feel like they are holding to date, thus far, so good. Edit: I don't go mudden so having the air valves up in the wheel well hasn't been an issue, just thought I'd say ...

And “5” psi empty (pretty much zero… but shhhhhh) only leak I had was where the air line also attached to the bag (I got the stainless braided system with the built in bump stops for mine) and I had to pretty much go 3-4x the torque spec to get it to seal up. Outside of that it’s been great, still miss my 3500 thou 😢

Which I’m also in the rust belt (peoples republic of New York) it’s nice for keeping the frame untouched much as I can (yes I krown coat my truck yearly, and try to only drive the truck when needed in the snow for my snowmobile trips, otherwise I ran my corolla in the salt)
