That wrecker has probably been the most useful thing you decided to keep. Love seeing it in action
Same with Sir Mortski ....👍
Yeah I would keep that thing forever
When he was contemplating on what to do with the wrecker, I was thinking “oh, he’s gonna want to keep that thing around.” I knew it would be used for more than just towing cars. It’s the Swiss Army knife of the fleet. AND it has killer looks to boot!
Does he have a video on that wrecker?
@@brianbutterworth8186 Yes. There are multiple videos on the wrecker resurrection. Probably under the main NNKH channel.
That’s a great clamp you scored . Every time you can do something without having to leave your property and spend money is a score
You can make even a review of an old tyre machine interesting. I was waiting for the pressure wash .... 👍
I used to work on these 30 years ago. You got it for a very reasonable price. Put new seal’s in it. Hook up no more than 90 psi Add oil to the oiler. It’s sounds like it’s needed a shot of air tool oil through the system try that before you replace anything
Wrecker to the rescue once again! My favorite truck in the fleet!😍 Seriously, that thing deserves ALL the love
I was very fortunate to have worked with nnkh in the shop and he taught me alot for the brief time I was there thanks nnkh keep the content coming
Man that tow truck comes in handy! I had one similar
Thanks for the new content. I look forward to each one.
Hey Chris , Jen , Gus and Turbo! I think that was a real good deal Chris and definitely a big upgrade over the ole 10/10. Just be careful about possible moisture in your air line using that outside in the cold. That moisture will turn to ice in all of those pneumatics. 👍
I must say that I am impressed with your nonchalant mood, when you move from one skill to the next! Keep up the Good Work!
Great video as always Chris. I love when you can get a good deal because the person selling didn't take the time to try to fix it first, or maybe they didn't have the know how (no nonsense of course) like you do.
Another awesome video Chris, loving the content. Thanks for sharing.
Great score for your workshop. Not only a good price but a practical and functional part of what you do.
Getting a quality used tool is almost always better than a new cheap tool. Will be a nice addition to your shop.
Spent the last 4 hours cleaning, lubricating and calibrating my micrometers, then I saw your vid pop up and that was a nice break, great score on the tire machine. Have fun😊
G`morning N.N.K.H. BTY Gus needs his own Channel
That's ace having a full tyre machine , look forward to the next video as always my favourite youtuber keep up the great work
Chris you're becoming a real 'International Rescue' member..Thunderbirds Are Go
Ha you needed the light bar Safety lights on with the Wrecker? You have a lot of traffic cutting through your back yard.. Good find
I used the older one you just sold in the 70's, now I have the Harbor Freight manual one that I've owned for 20 years due to living about an hour round trip from the nearest tire store when I lived in Arizona...still comes in handy when I need it.....
I got a Mayflower set and OMG is it sooo much easier now. Hard to spend the cash for something that sits there most of the time but it's so nice...I'll just sell it for most of what I paid for it.
Hey Chris.. not sure if anyone else would like it but I think you and Jenn collaborate together (just like on other projects) and work on the CJ.. I know it's a LOT of work but it'll be a great mini series for you and her.. she'll post her jobs on her channel and you on yours... just a thought.. I have a passion for the CJ's.. all of them.. anywho.. keep on keepin' on.. Life's a garden, dig it.. lol.. CHEERS!!!
I was JUST talking to my wife about getting an old vintage tire machine.. what a steal for 900, man I would LOVE to have one. I am SO tired of paying 15 bucks every time I get a tire changed. I buy used tires all the time for my van and I am SO SICK of paying someone to do it for me. One day!!
15 bucks is decent! California here, usual prices are about $25 a tire/wheel.
G,day Chris from Sydney Australia. Thank you for the comprehensive introduction to the Coates rim clamp (pneumatic) tyre machine, including maintenance and repairs. 🌏🇭🇲
Coats*
The 10-10 and 20-20 were great machines back in their day . But that one is sweeter definitely .
Wow what a mind !!! It's amazing to watch you reason through things !!!
Love all your vids Chris!!
Your neighbors must really like you. If my neighbor made heavy machinery noises, I would have been at their doorstep. Specially at night.
Here it would be the same, but vice versa...that's the bad thing moving into a quiet neighborhood... 🤪🤪
Masterfully Handled! Great Addition to your fleet Chris!
I'm glad you didn't go with the Harbor freight balancer. I tried it, it was horrible. Could not get it to balance for anything. Return It got the one on Amazon works a lot better. Keep up the great videos Absolutely, enjoy them.
Nice KP Tuning Shirt! Karl Tuned my Silverado years ago and it's been a completely different truck(In a good way!) ever since.
Хороший шиномонтажный станок! Классное видео получилось! Мне понравилось! Круто Круто!!!
Takes me back to 2yrs bck at my tyre service shop. And yeah, better be careful when breaking the bead, the feeling is awful when the beadbreaker handle hits you. My machine had a foot pedal to actuate the bead breaker and spin the spindle, most repairs i do them myself. In a space of 5yrs using the machine i changed a muffler and bead breaker valve.
I am sure that will come in handy. It will save you time and money in the future, good purchase. 👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent video Chris :) also super video for Wrecker truck and Tire repairs is worth it most certainly! Plus thing got excellent deal and used that one at my work to and used old styles too before !
Thanks for another great video!
I know nothing about tire machines ,but always wondered how they work ......this was really interesting !!
Before finishing with a spray can, spray it upside down to flush the nozzle.
👍👌👏 Congratulations 🎉 for purchasing this great tire machine. 2) The good ol' wrecker comes in handy often. I'm glad that you kept and repaired it. The video series about the wrecker is my favourite so far. I hope that you will find a solution to make the vehicle go a little bit faster. Maybe some kind of overdrive or a different gear box respectively rear differential ratio. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular.
Pressure washing like that is SO satisfying !
Thank you. Little gem to your collection, nice machine. Keep on making great videos, and entertainment
There has to be something terribly satisfying about being able to mount and balance your own tires. A lot cheaper too I bet.
Until your friends and family find out and they want you to do it for free.
Dear @@williamfoster4268 👍👌👏 Sooo true! 😁😁😁 Best regards, luck and health in particular.
@@williamfoster4268 😂😂😂
@@williamfoster4268 Just say now haha
Yep...makes life sooooo much better. Super easy TPMS sensor checks or replacement...that can save you $100 or more each time. I sister just paid a shop $150 I think...I did the same thing for $20 sensor I already had expecting another one to go out
You hit the jackpot on this one Chris. Nice!!
Great machine I love mine. I have the coats 5060 ex
Thanks Chris
glad i saw this. we had the same issue turn table. but i would just pour oil in the supply line and you whoule hear it kick when the oil hit the right spot. sounded like another 200psi just hit it. i was gonna tell u to just pour oil in the line but waited to see if u fixed it first.
Time for a road trip with the whole family. Most enjoyable, especially with Jen.
I bought a coats RC-15AA back in 1996 , still works great to this day ... All I've had to do was replace the double pedal valve... I run mine at 125 psi ..I put mine on a wheel dollie to save room
Chris i had that same 10 10 tire machine it worked well in a pinch
Man, I used this exact model when I worked at Goodyear and love it.
That really cleaned up good if you look at it before and after. It looks almost new.
I just bought the same machine exept the bead breaker has a button handle for 500 and it is a frickining tank it needed nothing I love it
Maybe a “will it run” video for a “new” forklift for you is in order now? Thanks, Chris!
Good score NNKH!
The air motors in these use unique quick exhaust valves to go forward and reverse. There's a rubber diaphragm in each that can rip. There will be air coming out both mufflers. If you block the leaking muffler with your hand and the motor speeds up or has more power, the diaphragm is bad. The Coats valves are fairly expensive and not always available. I installed Humprey QE3 valves with some threaded fittings on my 70X. These are common, and the diaphragms are available. Somebody told me Lowes sells a red paint that matches Coats Red pretty well
Okay, I'll have to check that out! Thanks so much for the great information. So far it's been pretty strong and works well ever since oiling it more
@@NNKH2 I bought two 70X's both had the auto luber removed. It makes me wonder if it's a reliable system. I had no idea how it was supposed to work, so thank you for that. I wound up putting a luber in line with the motor.
I think the gears in turntable, at least the ring, is Al. I got water in mine, so I pulled it apart. Mine was greased instead of being oiled. As I recall the recommended lube was 460. Former Walmart machine, and Coats told me it had almost $10K worth of service of during its use. Probably doesn't matter much for light home use.
Chris im glad you got that working better. I deff saw a little regret buying it when it wasn’t working properly. Well done my man. Deff paint it. Cheers 🍻
Exact same one we have at the shop, its a really good machine.
Love your videos, waiting for the next one 😎❤️
Good deal bud better machine 👍. Find any boat deals yet . Iam looking myself . Preferably a sleeping cuddy.
Yeah great machine for sure. Haven't been looking for boats too much
Cool deal. I’m sure that tire machine will come in super handy over the years. Great score on the price also.
you could pull apart the air motor and flip the vanes up side down if the body is not so worn you will improve performance, you can also order and size a timing belt with pulleys(with gear like teeth) for positive movement. you just need a center distance calculator they're free and size the same as v-belt pulley's.
Good video Chris...hook up a light above the rim machine 🙂👍
Good video thanks for sharing
Thanks and appreciate you tuning in
Definitely looks like a nice upgrade the little quirky issues should be ok since you're not using it 8 plus hours a day 😊 I think you did well on your purchase. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge how it works 😎🇺🇸👍😁
Great score on the Coats tire machine.
Great vid!
Just bought a May tire matic 62B inspired by this video. Hopefully it will provide many years of service to my home shop.
Awesome! Good luck with it!
Use the same machines at work . Love em.
I have the eh and kicks my breaker alot so it has its ups and downs
A nice addition buddy ✔️
Nice one Chris!
Used both of those coats way back in the day working at sears. They were awesome, and we did abuse them.
That's definitely a nice Find That's a score
Good.job Nice Garage 😄👍👍👏👏👏
Nice find. Repair Geek channel proved that Blaster Surface Shield is one of the best anti rust sprays. On his tests he chose it as the best.
That countertop you used might be a thick heavy piece of "Corian" , very popular for countertops in the '90's, just an observatio.
Great deal! Only thing you need is a air line into the carport! Can this thing go down to 10" scooter rims also? Thx for showing! 👍👍👍
At my job the bead breaker has a button on the handle which I prefer over the foot lever
Ok Chris I gotta bust your chops a little. Pressure washing your tire machine. While the poor Suzuki gets put away dirty. Oh the humanity!
Awesome video thanks ☝ 👍 🤘
Do you do work for the neighbors? I ask because I wonder if they ever inquire about the sounds from your yard. Good clear video.
Need to make some forks for the ole Kubota. All tho the wrecker makes a great crane 👍
Nice! I need one, I have a Armstrong one and it suck!
I got a Mayflower changer/balancer set...what a easy operation now. Got vids of it ya care
We changed the pulley on ours and worked great they made it to small
Could increase the pressure to help with the motor I haven’t used one of the air type tables
Nice machine
Always cool dude.
Yes sir that's a nice rim clamp machine thanks for sharing this six stars
Brings back memories of my years in the tire business…
awesome, love a good used pickup of commercial grade hardware
Chris...can you get a retro fit electric motor (to replace the pneumatic one) for that machine or am I thinking about different one?
Chris, try the 3m work tunes for pressure washing/ monotony jobs. It’s a decent earmuff Bluetooth headphone👌
Great Find on the Coats Tire Machine Chris. send some lv living in the back corner..
Any tips on not letting wheel pop off of clamps. Is gauge on very top just for tank or whole machine. When using turntable our gauge drops a lot of pressure.
i have used several coats models in my 26 years of changing tires and they were all electric driven except one that was pneumatic driven and that machine was dangerous, because it was faster than the others..it could rip a bead on a tire before you knew what happened...but yes overall i think coats are the best..we tried a couple of the hunter tire changers but they started having problems within the first 6 months..
I got a repack kit for the bead breaker from Amazon for about 60.00
Undoubtedly they sold it because it was so weak lol nobody at the shop wanted to take the time to get it working properly. What a steal you got lol
Can' beat a Coats machine--they have been making them forever !! Well made too .
Seems one could relocate that valve/switch for the bead break arm to the machine body to be used as a foot pedal instead. Save on sore hands and air in your face. Could be a fun little project.
My first thought in the beginning when you were off-loading it was, "well, Chris has a bucket tractor, a wrecker, wheres the forklift?" I bet that is coming soon!
I wonder if there's a place on that gearbox you could drill for a drain hole. I guess pumping could and can be just as effective?
