Got this free Craftsman Drift Breaker snow blower. Let's see if she'll run! This was footage from Spring 2022. I was waiting for a snow storm to finish the video but that never happened.

  • My brother in law had one in South Lake Tahoe, CA. When you live in the snow country and your street isn't a priority for plowing, you have one of these. Amazing machine that'll move a lot of snow...

  • Another thing that works on them small tires is wrapping a ratchet strap around the tire tightly and add air 👍

  • That's the first time I have seen a fiberglass Jet-ski run river rapids. I live near Asheville NC where the only water has rapids, and have looked at video of an Aussie built aluminum jet ski that runs river rapids, and I have seen an aluminum jon boat with a jet lower unit that might do the same, but no cheap Marketplace deals on either. I have my own aluminum jon boat now, so all I need now is a good deal on a 10-20 hp outboard with a jet lower unit, and I could be running rapids round trip like that.

  • I've never seen a drift breaker before, I'm just outside Niagara Falls, Canada, so maybe we don't get enough snow for them to be popular, definitely cool though. I still use an old craftsman to clear my driveway, they just never die!

  • People don’t buy snow blowers in spring, they don’t buy portable air conditioners in winter either so I used to get them cheap during the cold weather and wait for the first 40 C / 100 F day in summer and advertise them. They would sell like hot cakes at double or triple what I paid. I have never seen a snowblower and don’t think you can even buy one here. Great video, cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺

  • Nice video! I have an old running Driftbreaker. The thing is a BEAST! The first year I had it the drive belt broke at the bottom of the driveway down at the bottom of the hill (of course). That thing is a heavy beast to push uphill in the snow. In the winter it will go through ANYTHING. I've run over frozen newspapers, and it doesn't even blink.

  • Cool, I have a few of those Driftbreakers. I'm outside of Pittsburgh, I have a small engine/tractor salvage yard with about 400 pieces. You should stop out if you're ever heading this way, youd get a kick out of some of the old equipment I have. Love your videos and vlogs, brother!

  • G,day Chris and Jen from Sydney Australia. I see your You Tube silver button on the shelf, great achievement. The snow blower would be running hot over the California Nevada region: what a load. Gus's life jacket is very cool and sensible. Recycling is the way for government: we have a 10 cent return programme for glass bottles, aluminium cans. Man we have to cover our trash bins to stop people taking trash taken out! ♻️🇭🇲

  • I love stuff like this I use to make good money on selling old push mowers and snow blowers people would toss out because there was something wrong with it and some was rusty mower bodies other was dirt in the needle valve others were dirty points but I use to get them going and make them look good and sell them in my front yard and they would sell like hotcakes.

  • Nice video. I ate my dinner while watching. Reminded me of the time my old riding mower stopped charging. I pulled the flywheel off and the magnets had come off of it and were stuck to the windings of the stator. So I cleaned up the surfaces and JB Welded them back on the flywheel. Buttoned it all up and it was good to go!!! I owned that mower for several more years before I upgraded to a John Deere that has power steering and hydraulics for a snow blade on the front. Looks like that snow blower runs good now!!! PS: Gus is so cute!! My brother just got a new female dog that I think is the same breed. She has beautiful blue eyes like Gus.

  • great video! I can jump around on my videos too. I find it can make it a lil bit different sometimes. I can't wait for "spring" to really get here so I can open the shop doors and get some natural light in the shop. Ill be buying gas powered water pumps for my yard if it dont quit raining!

  • You know Ive never in my life used a snow blower! We just don't get snow here in South Texas. Maybe a light dusting of snowflakes every 3 or 4 years but barely enough to actually stick to the ground. Anyhow, I enjoyed the video, it's interesting the random things you work on.

  • 1 have a 1974 identical blower , 7 hp tecum engine, no electric start, always starts 3 rd pull, very heavy to operate

  • My dad had an old walk behind snowblower similar to that one back in the 1980's. The thing was a tank, wasn't much it wouldn't go through. Had the drift breaker just like this one. I'm not sure about the brand, Jacobsen maybe? I believe it had a Tecumseh engine on it that my dad put on because the previous owner blew the original engine that was on it.
