you be right about haters that don't have a clue, Honda Goldwing motorcycles where made in America for years maybe still are and the Harley people would snear at you, poo on them. Keep up the great content Chris
I just love your dog Gus! He is such cutie.
Excellent video Chris :) , Jen :) , Gus Family Dog 🐕 and hope have excellent day plus weekend too!
Gota love the Gus man.
The fun you’re getting say hello to the Gus man 🎉
6:16 I've been telling people this for years. They are the most 'American made' vehicles you can get. Toyota has long supported American sourcing for their parts. I think they call it The Heartland Project. They have a great reputation among American manufacturers for helping them overcome QC issues, etc. Toyota has put a lot into making it work, and it has supported 10's of thousands of jobs here in the US.
There's no other truck out there like the first gen tundra, a lot of guys out here on the west coast build them into pre runners because you can leave the stock trans and 4.7L in it and it still rips through the dunes.
Congratulations, Chris! It must be both a relief and a pleasure to have the trailer now. Clearly, this will provide a great boost to your ability to move your projects around. I look forward to each video you post, and fwiw, I really like the electric bike and battery system reviews. Enjoy the trailer!
Yeah... 7th!! 😀 Getting closer to first!! Great vid...
Sorry to see you sell the 2305. I've had mine with the same setup as your (260 BH/200CX) for over 16 years now, and tell my sons this will outlive us all. We live in the high mountains of Vermont and this little guy has served me well all these years. I love the channel and I've learned a bunch from you even at my senior citizen age.
I love the old Tundras. Nice trailer also
Love both channels. I also enjoy turning wrenches. Unfortunately the dealership didnt pay much and no im building locomotive engines. Im over in Hermitage PA near the Ohio / Pa border. If your ever over this way and in need of anything let me know.
You got the life Gus.
I’d take a trailer upgrade video. I’ve always found those interesting…
I’ve this trailer, one of the better configured trailers I’ve seen yet
That is a typical powder coat job gone through a few north east winters, Chris. When the paint comes off in sheets that's powder coating not paint. Paint would actually hold up better. Only a few trailer manufacturers still paint their trailers using traditional methods (the reason most use powder coating is you need way less certifications/dust/fume collection etc compared to regular painting). After owning a few powder coated trailers up here in Canada I just got fed up and got a fully galvanized trailer. The only trailer manufacturer I've seen that actually has a very state of the art powder coating system (haven't seen how it holds up, though) is Diamond C trailers out of Texas. They have a video on KZhead about their powder coating process and facility and it is pretty impressive.
Diamond C trailers are incredible but pricey!! I wanted a gooseneck from them but settled for a Big Tex for like half the price…it’s nowhere near on the same level.
i have a Diamond C, dont know if it was powder coated or painted it says PPG on the label. I has zero rust after 8 years outside in Michigan. Looks brand new still , super tough, wood deck still looks good no warping boards. Tube steel , not c channel
@@bradclarke93 Nice. How old is it? I'm pretty sure the older ones were painted which was really good. Newer ones are powder, though. PPG makes paint and powder these days so who knows.
@@Sugarkryptonite Its about 7 or 8 years old now
You deserve it. Good man
Big fan of your channels! love the vids and you guys. Gus makes me smile every time he is in the picture. So funny and cute, Greetings from Amsterdam The Netherlands
Once you knock off that loose paint, use Rust Oleum rusty metal primer and you will be done with it. I've been using it for over 20 years. We would take raw steel and wipe it down with thinner then paint it with the rusty metal primer. The same goes for the welds. I've had pieces outside in the scrap pile for years with just the primer with zero rust except the ends where it was cut off.
Nice trailer!
Get after that trailer with some paint real quick. PJ and kaufman are notorious for rusting apart fast. They use cheap steel and terrible powder coating, We painted our 2019 with raptor liner and fixed a few welds and it worked great. Prep it really well and you can slam equipment off that trailer all day long and not loose the paint.
I put toolboxes on my previous car trailer to hold the straps. Not in the same spot as yours, because my deck is shorter. They are so handy to always have them ready. I also put a spare hub, bearings, tools & wheel nuts in as well. I called it insurance. When travelling with them I never had bearing issues or loose nuts. On the new trailer I ordered a couple of extra stub axles and mounted complete hubs & bearings on them to hold the spare tyres. That way I have a couple of spares ready to go if I ever need them. Been 12 years now and they’re still untouched. But I reckon without them Murphy would strike, and I’d have an issue.
Yeah that's cool I like my heavy equipment trailer 14,000 GVW. Way to go Chris
Nice one Chris. Trailer rust is a bummer, but i know you'll fix it. Gus n Jen are becoming more accustomed to your unusual purchases as life progresses.
love the trailer good find x your chains its actually a pa state law but it works if the ball or clevis opens up. i know it happened to me was in a hurry and forgot to secure it half mile later it came off but the chains cradled it. i thought oaky that's why they want you to do that. it didn't hit the ground with a load on it
Awesome trailer despite the minor flaws..I am sure it will serve you well. Appreciate your content and adventures 😁🛠️🇺🇸🔧🐾🛻
Awesome 1st river trip 2023! You guys make my Thursdays.
I had a steel deck trailer that I got rid of a few years ago. It was really sturdy, but it was starting to get some rust and I had no desire to replace that much metal. It was incredibly heavy which is mostly why I sold it, and the deck had waves in it from the previous owner loading his skid steers and heavy equipment on it. I’m looking for a wood deck trailer for my next one. I probly don’t need the tilt deck but that’s pretty cool.
Congrats on the new trailer.
The PJ in PJ trailers stands for Pedro & Juan. I got a new one in 2020 and it came pre rusted.
Smart buy !!!
Nice score on the trailer I’m amazed that tundra is still running after being sunk in the river Must NNKH 😂
Haven't been keeping up videos for a while forgot how real you are!
Always enjoy your content. Just got a NNKH T-shirt today. Glad to support your channel.
Awesome to hear that you enjoy the videos and thanks so much for the support!
Toyota or not..... T-Boy needs to buckle his seatbelt. LOL!
I like seeing you drive around lower bucks. Sorta makes me homesick. Go walk under Trenton makes bridge. One of my favorite fishing spots
Beautiful trailer, just sad to see how they cut building quality everywhere nowadays, i'm not to worry you will make it a lot better! That thing will be just perfect for your purposes! Thanks for sharing!
Great shoping congratulations 🎉
Nice new addition trailer.
Thanks! You're material is awesome... Come visit us in Washington
Thanks so much Mike! And yes maybe one day!
I saw you loading your boat down at the river I was taking a motorcycle ride down river road. That air boat is awesome
good lookin trailer. These companies never paint under them well They always need a improvement but end up fitting the job nicely
I have a pj buggy hauler 24ft I absolutely love it you will enjoy yours also!! Love the random video good to see you back on the water!!
Hey Chris, can you do a quick video on how to build your own rain barrels??? TIA....hot, sunny 🌞, dry So Cal. 😊 🙂😀😃😄😁👋🤞✌️👌🤙👍☝️👏🙏
Those fenders are removable fenders the one bolt on each end I had the one with the manual jack
Looks like a nice buy... Hope it meets your needs...
Put your seatbelt on, Chris!
👍👌👏 Maaaan, I simply love cute little Gus 💚. He looks so comfy snuggled up in the beach bag. By the way: Nice boat ride. 2) Congrats for purchasing this trailer. It's a great idea to modify the fenders so that they can be removed if necessary. I'm really, really glad that you already know about all the "little" imperfections that all these trailers seem to have since factory. I watched several videos about modifying/improving them (for example J.C. Smith projects, Vecor etc.). All owners put lots and lots of additional welds on and, if I remember correctly, also some diagonal reinforcements. They also reinforced the V- tongue, removed the built in rust, relocated the winch, spare tire and tool boxes (etc.p.p.). Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and especially health to all 3 of you.
Congratulations Chris :) also never used that one type ever and heard great also think help lots for you too!
Nice Trailer! I had not seen your piece of junk airboat since the video where you picked it up and I stand corrected! You did an amazing job on it, and it looks great! You are one heck of a mechanic! Everything you touch seems to turn to gold! Hello Jen and Gus!
Flaking paint..that's power coating for you. It comes off in flakes like that. You can use something like wool wax under it..or blaster surface shield.
You love the Tundra, I mean you have had some fun times, gone swimming with it...
Hey Chris! Nice trailer! WOO HOO!!!
OH, Hello Jen and Gus! 👋👍👀
amazon has cheap bluetooth solenoids, typically for winches but will work fine for that tilt deck cylinder, i doubt youll be able to keep paint on it id just undercoat it thoroughly something thatll stay sopping wet and oily since theres no engine heat and you wont be working on it the way a truck is miserable to work on after undercoated
With a little home fixin', thats a good trailer! Seems like ALOT of "stuff" out there is half-baked! 😎
Gus the stick monster
You're a high roller now brother nice trailer. 🎉
If you gonna restore it, you might wanna watch Andrew Camaratas repairvideo on a simlar trailer. It looks like it have dome of the same weaknesses
Beautiful airboat!!
love the tow trailer well done on the purchase and nothing is hardly perfect but you have the skills to make it so , and on another note you make go gaga when you take out the air boat what a adrenaline charge it is even cruising around just love it do enjoy it to the max Cheers
Nice trailer, hope I never rear end one looks like a knife edge also tail lights weirdly positioned, always enjoy your content
Guss is adorable. I want em
Love your content.
Keep them coming buddy
Great video
Damn that’s a good looking trailer, paint aside
We have a 2005 tundra limited bought brand new. She has 143,000 and still running strong! Rear brakes and v.c. gaskets being replaced next week.
That is incredibly low miles! She's just barely getting broken in!
you got more subs here than the main channel
Chris, I have pictures of the coolest waste oil furnace. You can build it in your garage with scrap metal. How do I send them to you? Love your videos, best videos on KZhead
Appreciate the offer but honestly I'm pretty happy with the clean burn unit I have now. And thanks man really appreciate you checking out the videos
I see a trailer upgrade video in the future...
Hola saludos desde CDMX de 🇲🇽👍
Those tilt trailers are nice! But PJ has been known for really poor powder coat quality for awhile. I wish they would paint new trailers instead of powder coat. Good luck with the new trailer!
Yeah. Bummer about the powder coating for sure. I almost walked on it but it was a pretty good deal considering so I'll probably end up cleaning it up unless I find a better deal on a nicer one than maybe resell this one
@@NNKH2 I’m sure itll be fine big thing is don’t let it get too far gone!
Nice trailer! I have a PJ 20' W/beaver tail, still pulling ramps out. Curious...ever thought about moving the control station back on the airboat & setting a bench in front?
I have pretty much the same trailer and same gripe about the paint. Just junk and very frustrating. I had all the wood on my deck bed lined with the good bed liner. Best investment ever! Would highly recommend it! Been using my trailer for nearly 8 years now.
Tundras are great vehicles. I have 5 cars and a motorcycle. All "foreign" "imports". Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, VW and BMW (motorcycle). No regrets here. I am originally from Ireland 🇮🇪. My dad worked at the Ford plant in Cork until it closed in 1984. After that, we were no longer a Ford family. Anyway, live in the US now and can't buy "domestic" vehicles.
My 2001 Tundra was built in Indiana, my 1995 F250 was built in Canada. It blows peoples minds when I show them manufacturing tag.
Nice trailer, cylinder looks flimsy.
I bault same trailer with the metal floor best thing I've ever bault don't have to drag them heavy ramps aroud
Nice investment now to fix it your way
Love Toyotas have 72fj40, how do you get aerial footage thanks Byron
Toyota is where its at , everytime I buy a non toyota car I've nothing but issues, only bad thing with my corollas is the rust :/
ALWAYS GOT TO SAFETY CHECK THE TOYS.
Yo, that trailer is massive! How many airboats can you fit on there?
That’s the smallest I’ve seen the island. I’m normally there mid summer when it’s low.
Those fingers do remove just take the bolt out of the front and the back and they lift off those are removable fenders
Chris - very nice trailer, love the tilt. Hey, I didn't know you were selling that John Deere. btw, I am looking for a excavator on the cheap. Willing to drive the miles from Boston to get one. Any ideas where to look?
Curious would you refresh/ rebuild the Tundra engine or buy a new engine ? Just asking
I would probably rebuild it or replace it with a small diesel engine. A lot of time just getting a used engine from a wreck is the best bet and certainly most cost-effective
@@NNKH2 it would be cool to see you do a diesel conversion. They make diesel toyotas for other markets don't they? Would you try and get an imported engine or just a general repower?
@@peglegtoo Might be able to cram a 4bt in there...Certainly would be a unique truck at that point.
Nnkh i move to a new home there is a old Mustang and Chevy c10 and el camino last a old plymouth savoy
Could you please tell me or do you have a video that shows where I need to set the pulley when I set crankshaft sensor timing 12 valve cummins fuel pump timing? Please and thank you
Nice trailer, use it well. I've been looking for the same thing. How much did you give for it?
I have a 7x12 Aluminum trailer for my Yamaha Rhino and Mowers. I always buy Aluminum with wood planks. The last one that I had was an 5X8 Aluminum I paid around $1,200.00 for it brand new in 2001. I sold it in 2020 for $1,600.00 after using it for 19 years "Because prices went crazy".. Aluminum is lighter and no rust, but I do not tow it in the winter, so it does not see any road salt. BUT I also bought my new one just before prices went crazy and I got an awesome deal on that one. It is difficult to find a decent deal on a trailer. AND be careful of possible title problems. Casey Ladelle , Cascade heavy Rescue here on youtube bought one , he got the title when he bought it and got it registered only to find out that it was a stolen trailer. He is out the money that he paid for the trailer.
You need to make a little bed for gus on your swamp boat so gus can sleep 😴 💤 or stretch out..
Just hit it with black fluid film.
80 degrees now 30s.
I believe there assembled in the United States not made in. But I could be wrong I think it was a way to beat the import tariffs on the cars.
Yes they are assembled in United states. And most of the parts on it are made in United States as well.
I love the boat how old is. Gus the dog
👍👍👍
Do you need a special driving licence in US to tow those big traliers or just the regular car driving licence?
Look forward to you future proofing this. Disappointing it looks like this after 2 years.
Hey Chris, am I right in thinking that in America you have to get trailers tested annually like you do with a car? Or did hear wrong??
I have a PJ B5 buggy hauler, 10k 20’. It’s been a great trailer. They do have shitty welds and they’re powder coated, not so great
