    • @@xobelladonna2443 As someone with two cats who regularly clips their nails and has a medium hair that is not overly fond of his needed brushing to keep the shedding under control. . .she was very well behaved. Vocalization from a cat is NOT the same thing as it is from a dog. I will take a low growl or even a hiss over a swat or a struggle any day of the week. Her growl didn't even increase in pitch to something closer to a yowl which is when you actually have a fight on your hand. She was just uneasy and making sure everyone knew it.

  • People, Vanessa makes these grooming sessions look easy. I like animals, but: bathing them, knowing the proper techniques, dealing with highly volatile temperaments, knowing how to salvage an undercoat, expensive equipment, specialty equipment, animal hair/dander, the chance you’ll get injured, the chance you’ll injure a pet, renting space, clean up, etc. - and that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I believe Vanessa is one of the best in the world when it comes to pet grooming. Her instincts are spot on and she obviously does an incredible job on all her clients’ cuts/styles as well as on their baths/showers. Props to her and her talent.👏👏👏👏👏 We have the privilege of getting to watch the transformations on a weekly basis.

  • In her later years my cat was not able to keep herself clean on her own. She had a few flea baths in her youth so we knew she was not a fan. I found the double sink in my kitchen was really helpful. I would fill one side high enough that her shoulders would be covered, when I switched from warm water to almost hot she suddenly decided it wasn’t quite so bad. By putting her in the full sink it was easy and quick to get her wet to the skin. Then lifted her to the empty sink applied shampoo and lathered. I would do the first rinse with the faucet hose and then put her back in the full sink rub her all over then back to the empty sink for another hose rinse and done. Got to the point where all this could be accomplished in under ten minutes. The full sink and hotish water really made a difference. Love your videos.

  • As a mother of a similarly patterned b&w cat, I can confirm he is a very sheddy boy! Whenever i take him to visit my parents 2 hours away, we have to have the following system in place: fluffy floor mat on my lap, brushy grooming glove on and petting constantly, and Not Another D&D Podcast on. He will meow and pant if anything else is playing. When we arrive 2 hours later to our destination, I'm covered in hair and the grooming glove is full. Sometimes i even empty it mid-ride and fill it again. Meanwhile my kitten sits patiently in her carrier and barely makes a peep. I would put him in a carrier, but it stresses him out so much he's a panting, yowling wreck. So we follow far back in the middle lane and listen to the Duck Team. Of course i ensure his talons are nice and trimmed before we head out, because last thing i want to have to do behind the wheel is have to carefully extract a pawfull of cat claws from my flesh on the freeway.

  • When I take my cat to the vet I use a pheromone spray called Feliway. It works to calm him down every time. I might suggest it's use to your feline customers before they arrive at your shop.

    • Yes, they have a super size canister at the front desk of Vet office. Its pricey, but does help--I would spritz a bit in the happy hoodie!!

  • Zoey made me smile as she brought back memories of my late puss. He loved being brushed and hiis chin scratched as hard as you like, but try and clip his claws, pick him up or bathe him, then out came the claws, teeth and bad language. Take him to the vet and he was a complete angel.❤❤👵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🌹

  • This cat was amazingly cool during the whole process. Much was due to excellent understanding and patience on the groomer's part.

  • The combination of dandruff and excessive shedding is probably diet related. My vet suggested going grain free then removing chicken products from our cats diet. Eventually it was adding cat formulated omega-3 oils that stopped the dandruff and reduced the shedding.

  • Love seeing how other cats react when going to a professional groomer. And seeing the little tricks you do too! My cat is about 10 and I’ve been able to use this little trick for trimming her nails. I turn her over on her back in my lap and trim away. She obviously knows me so she doesn’t murder me. But she makes those warning growls. I always give her a treat afterwards and she knows it so she hangs around for it.

    • Lol, my boys growl gently and give the occasional hiss sometimes too. But they are both very well mannered lads. . .just expressing that 'hey. .. we really don't like man handled like this' they won't stay slepping for me to get their claws or I'd do it them.
