  • I love how with the dogs it's almost always "I don't think they will try anything but just in case..." And with cats it's usually "Please don't kill me"

    • Cat bites are genuinely more hazardous than dogs, they can cause infections with their bites while dogs are a little more calm whereas cats will murder you with all their being

    • @@polinaandersenits almost like you didn't listen to the video and completely ignored her reasoning. She never said dogs dont kill/dont hurt people/cant hurt people. IN HER PROFESSION dogs are less dangerous IN HER EXPERIENCE because she can muzzle them while grooming and scratches aren't nearly as big of an issue. A dog's main method of defense is their bite, not their nails. CATS however still have knives for hands even if you muzzle them, so they are constantly potentially dangerous. Dog nails and cat claws are two VERY different things. Cat's claws are so so much more dangerous. Cats are also much more likely to act very quickly and unexpectedly, which makes those claws something that can be very hard to see coming and avoid, even in controlled situations. Makes sense?

It's hard to part with a beloved pet but when it comes to their best interests and health sometimes you just have to. • I say this every time, but I am a cat lady and I appreciate so much how well you get to know cat clients and their body language as well. A lot of the disdain for cats in this world is because people expect them to be dogs, or compare them to dogs. They are an entirely different species with an entirely different history, mannerisms, evolution, etc, and you have to appreciate them for who and what they are. I love that you care for them as cats, and don't get upset at them for simply being themselves. 😻 And what a gorgeous lady you have groomed today.

  • Kaz sounds exactly like my most recent oldest kitty Chelsea. She was a rescue kitten with terrible ringworm. It was treated before we adopted her, and as a result she was…not the cutest kitten, missing half of her whiskers and tail fur. However, she grew up to have the biggest eyes I’ve seen on a tabby. After learning about feral cats (thank you Jackson Galaxy!) we learned how to incorporate her into our lives and compromise. She loved nothing more than cuddles and pets. One stroke of a finger on her back and she’d start purring like there was no tomorrow and beg for more! Chelsea had kitten energy up until her last days. She was so entertaining and fun, but no she wasn’t bright either. She passed away last year and it was only because she lived a good life that she lived as long as she did. When you have a good pet you never forget.

    • One of my daughters lives in Dubai, they have a massive stray cat problem and my daughter has grown up with cats and she missed living with them. So she became a foster mum and has had so much success in rehoming them around the world, while working a full time high pressure job. She had to stop taking in anymore cats because the one she is fostering now has a lot of difficulties. So she’s had to keep her separate from other cats and people. She won’t accept any touching but will play with toys as long as there’s a distance. We all wish we could help her, as my daughter is living Dubai after 5 years there. We will make sure she’s okay and as even the staff are frightened of her, even though I’d say she’s not the most difficult of cases. We may have to fly her to England. There’s no way we could leave her with people that don’t understand who she is and what her needs are.

  • You are my favorite groomer!!! Thank you for being so kind and sweet to these animals. I love that you pet them and talk to them and remember that they have feelings. Some groomers must be burned out because they seem to blame the animal if they’re in bad shape, but you’re always kind. God Bless you!!

  • My friend really hated litter box so she toilet trained her cat, thinking it would be more convenient. But jumping on and off the toilet seat with the hole was to scary for her cat so it just yowls when she needs up to go to the bathroom now. Became infinity less convenient, but the cat also will not go back to litter 😂

I WILL say that the odor control is fantastic, though. It always amazes my guests. Even now, two days before the end of the month and time to replace it, it hardly smells at all.

Sometimes rehoming is definitely the best option - but sometimes people are just struggling with temporary crisis, and I love that there are groups working to see that that isn't compounded by traumatic loss of very loved animals 💗

    • @@parryyotter 100%. Sadly I'm going through this decision currently due to a messy divorce and a partner who won't look after his kitties. I can't take them in as I'm moving to a home with huskies and as much as I've tried to think of ways to make it work there is only so much I can do to stop them from getting near my babies - as the dogs are let out a lot themselves and I can't trust them not to just come across the cats when the kitties are out wanderin'. The only option left is to give them to someone I can trust - it's a difficult decision but sometimes us pet owners have to make them for the better of our little buddies.

  • Scratching posts actually make cats' claws more sharp, not less. As their claws grow, they need to shed the old, outer layers to keep them healthy and sharp, otherwise they become overgrown and painful. I trim my cats' claws at home and sometimes help remove old claw sheaths if they're loose.

  • I absolutely love cats and feel very connected to them. I could not help but feel sad for this kitty 😢 only because I know the bathing/brushing process is so hard on a cat with this much hair and she is putting up with so much she dislikes. She seems like a very sweet pet. I love this cat! As for long hair cats it is so important they learn to deal with this right after they are weaned because this really helps them accept it when they are full grown. If you keep a shorthair indoors they might be fine with brushing alone but the long hair may need to be bathed and definitely brushed. Weeks old kittens are very open to imprinting and should be exposed to all the things you will want them to do as adults. When they are grown they will be far more open to tasks like bathing, claw clipping and traveling in a car if you start them just after they are weaned because there is not much time before they will be less accepting and never warm up to it. At an early age, kittens are very social and like being together. This is when they can be imprinted with what we want to do with them later.
