+JohnIsAngryAgain - That voice in your head that you call "I" and which you overheard saying you were confused is not you and is not your friend but nevertheless has created the world of humanity as it is? That voice can be overcome and that by first giving away all that it has given to you hoping to bribe and blackmail you into protecting it and attending to its demands. "Sam Gold" is the metaphor for the ego, and if you embrace the pain you will win this game. For if you change what controls you, you can change what you control. And that fear is the mind-killer, it is the little death which brings the... wait a minute - that last part's "Dune", not "Revolver"...

The scene where he does the finger gun is great. The way his own ego wraps around that hallucination of daring him to do it and seeing it as the challenge to be won. The truth is there was no win condition here except to survive. And ironically the man with the greatest advantage in that game lost.

Jake steps into the room, drops down the bags - he is on one side of the pool and Macha (w/Rachel) is on the other side. (Keep in mind that throughout the whole scene, he's not aware that Jake has the powder with him in the bags.) Macha says "you think I'm an evil man, don't you?" - internally he thinks he's saying it coldly in coolly but on the outside he is trembling (this becomes a common thing throughout this scene - the calm Macha is how Gold perceives he is expressing himself, but the trembling Macha is reality (just like the Jake/Gold fight in the elevator) - if you try to keep in mind that whatever the "real" Macha thinks or says can be directed at and referring to Jake and Gold at the same time, the conversation takes on two totally different meanings. Jake is very calm and ignores Macha, but instead talks to Rachel to let her know things will be alright. Gold (inside Macha) says in chorus over and over "You think I don't know your game, well I do! I see your game; I am your game!" Still calm, Jake continues to only focus on talking to Rachel (it's like Macha doesn't exist). (Calm)"You don't play be the rules, Mr Green" (scared) "You like to play silly games with my head.." (calm)"Don't you?" Jake still is serene while scared Macha cries. *beep* survivor (to Jake) "whiner" to Macha Macha cries while Gold keeps his internal monologue going - now Gold's officially turned his attention to Macha. "You pussy drowning in your own sh*t." (Calm)"Shut up and leave me alone." said aloud

this is something i realized after i watched this scene about 15 times. It's the details, what makes this scene so good. @@KungFuRandur Ikr. I agree. That's what makes this film relevant today. Back when I watched it for the first time in 2017 I couldn't understand a single shit but when I took patience to watch again and again, I slowly understood the symbolisms and everything hidden behind. Also you have to look at objects in the background as they relate to the dialogue and the color changes as well as the angles in which the scenes are shot. His love of money is his egotistical prison and once he is faced with death and being penniless, reaches his full potential and recognizes his shortcomings being his ego alterself. @@michaelriddick7116 He didn't kick a single ass in this movie because that wasn't his type of character
2022 most gangster movie I have ever encountered at only age 18….. greatest work I ever seen Ray Liotta do. Rest Easy Ray.
The problem with this movie is it's lost on those who can't recognize they're controlled by their own ego. They can't understand this movie because their ego is keeping them from seeing the truth. It's not Guy's fault the world is all victims of this "con." That's why it never got big imo.
Facts. The ego is everything.
It choose it's hiding place very carefullly
To be fair, it's still a very complex movie. I'm sure you had to watch it more than once. I watched it twice
This is a great film and I have to it admit it's the intelligence of the story line that has everyone amazed but Ray liotta in this scene is incredible.
Great acting by Statham and Liotta one of my favorite movies.
One of the most underrated / unappreciated films i've ever seen
Rest in peace Ray Liotta, such a great actor and this movie was pretty underrated but a masterpiece at understanding self ego
Very complicated movie but still a unique masterpiece, best statham movie. (Liotta is great as always)
Best Liotta role, even Good Fellas don't give him most respect, beside Revolver
the most brilliant way to introduce ego. the voice that weaken us and ruin our lives unless we take control
I REALLY love Ray Liotta's voice.
Tommy Vercetti
This is the best movie of all time, of all my life, i seen it over 50-60 times (and with friends under LSD too), and emotions what i feeling take over me, this is a truly cryptic Picture of godlike. Guy Ritchie take an Oscar for term of life.
the best movie to know your true self . we all have this voice who make us afraid and weak
Best movie of all time indeed.
Pretty cool choice of movie for a psychedelic that can induce ego death
RIP Ray. Very great actor.
dat voice in our heads... if I'm the one who talk then who's listening?
Chavdar Angelov you're not the one who talks. That's your ego who talks and you listen to him.
Chavdar Angelov that question put it all in perspective lol thanks.
I love you and joe fraizure.
September 2019 .. who keep watching this .. ???
Since OCT 2010
This is one of the scene, where your soul trembles while you are looking. The quote at the beginning is the one that makes you fight with all the wrong stuff inside you. And I always recall them when bad feelings of envy, fear and pride comes to me. When my arms and legs get numb and life begins to fade, only thing I can say to that bastard in myself is - Jog on. Slide off. Find someone else to fill your pipe!
Crazy alternate ending. Ive never seen this. Incredible film. Top tier
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was convincing the world that he didn't exist.
it's greater when he's disguised as our thoughts "The greatest enemy will hide in the last place you would ever look."
The devil who sold the world.
And after that he is gone
That's why most ppl are disbelievers
Nah the devil exists to make our ego feel more comfortable in blaming someone else but ourselves.... for what we do.
One of the best movie ends I've ever seen. Hands down!
Very complex movie, hard to understand for most people. Revolver is rated a 6.3 out of 10 but I think it deserves more than that.
One of the if not the greatest movies art drenched in metaphors and such atmosphere the track purple requiem by Nathaniel Mechaly
RIP Ray Liotta
years as a zen priest living in temples. i could have just watched this movie. i understood.
You chosen to live your life like a ball bag priest then
the depth of this movie and the subliminal back story attached to it is insane... you can directly attach Revolver to Crank... angel of death coming to realization of who he is, the game he's unknowingly playning. wild...
The scene where he does the finger gun is great. The way his own ego wraps around that hallucination of daring him to do it and seeing it as the challenge to be won. The truth is there was no win condition here except to survive. And ironically the man with the greatest advantage in that game lost.
Desperation, your ego, it manipulates you, It controls you, People, Do not, listen to yourself, You are your worst enemy.
I love it so much ,,i even cry for it ,,legend plus a myth ,,great work liotta and statham
Dr. Manhattan let himself go.
hahahahha
A FAT JOKE 😂
On the other hand you could see it like macha speaks very cool and calm and inside he is talking to himself scared. This is something i love about this movie, you can interpret so much into it.
The movie is telling you how this world ran and what you can affect, it's showing you the real deal.
where's your pride..... points his gun towards the head of a child..... Truly, the greatest con that he ever pulled was making you believe that he is you
Rip! 💔
Excellent film, indescribable. Its just brilliant.
Rip 👑 🕊
No one see gold but gold sees everyone- Ego.
Macha was a man tormented by his ego.
Do you feel sympathy for him?
no, he sees his ego as his best friend and confidant, he follow it and is totally taken by his ego,he loves it(and much probably only this) like some people in real life
GUY RITCHIE MASTER! SIMPLY THE BEST OF THE BEST! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR INCREIBLE AND WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!
Rest in peace
R.i.p Ray!
This last scene runs so deep and offers an empowering approach to true inner strength. "The greatest con that you have ever pulled is making you believe that he is you." You alone are in charge of your life!
I watched that movie two times and it leaves me lost and bother ... care to explain this point ?
* HE ever pulled
@@charmingdxb121 short answer: this movie explains how human consciousness works and the "pitfalls" you will run into, eventually. long answer: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id,_ego_and_super-ego in addition you can listen to psychologists who talk about this subject because that article is really just the fundamentals.
thats the "bad ending", though.
Кто-нибудь давайте побеседуем про это прррррросто бомбический фильм их всех фильмов 😭😭😭😭😭😭 это реально шедевр!!!
Liottas acting gives me chills in Revolver. Dude is crazy good. I like his acting better than Statham's in this movie.
this movie is nuts i love it
After watching the movie three times I think I understand only like 70 % of it
this film is really special and made for the special people only the special guys can understand this film
Ha ha!
This is an impressive acting by Ray Liotta. I haven't seen this movie yet, but this scene really touched me. Thank you for sharing!
One of the best things about Ritchie's work is that he can bring the best out of the actors he selects. You know, it's not tha I expected less from Liotta, but I never thought Statham could play the whole role like that.
Truly great movie, well done Jason mate.
that soundtrack
Powerful, isn't it?
+227elnegro exactly
Дмитрий Мал I hear it while playing chess. It helps to get into the game, concentrate and win win win !!! Love this movie, love this music, love chess!

Jason statham at his best great mystery action movie
R.I.P. RAY
Jake Green is the desciple of his two friends from prison who is an avid learner of their teachings about gaming and cons specific to gambling. His love of money is his egotistical prison and once he is faced with death and being penniless, reaches his full potential and recognizes his shortcomings being his ego alterself. Now Jake becomes in power of his consciousness and Sam Gold has no power over him not via Jake not via Macha and Macha sees Jake's fearlessness and has conceded to being defeated and does not accept living in such a world so he shoots his own consciousness.
I dont understand why the scores for this film were so low when it was actually an extremely deep film with a plot that could rip Avatars horribly mediocre plot line to shreds...
RIP Ray
Just rewatched again yesterday. Wish I could find the cut of the film that contains this ending.
You can, I got the UK version DVD on eBay. Then I converted it using a computer program so it would play in the US. (There are different DVD playback regions.)
PERFECT ..
nathanial mechaly - purple requiem
Is there a film where Liotta doesn't deliver a memorable performance?
He is even great in the new muppet movie.
Liotta is an acting beast. Always delivers amazing performances.
Joe Mutt and Mark strong too
Observe & Report...... lol
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
Один из самых лучших фильмов в мире,очень впился в кровь,очень хороший;)
Favourite scene ever
thanks alot for posting this.
The greatest movie ever made .
this scene and the lift scene are movie gold!
RIP Ray Liotta
wow amazing.
This movie really helped me and I love it just for that
This version of the ending is by far greater than this dedicated for USA.
involvement in this movie will make u o my GOD.
This ending is cut from the HD version featured on Amazon Prime. Instead we get a bunch of PhDs telling us about Ego. I would prefer this scene tbh.
This ending is from the (overall superior imo) original UK version of the film, before they edited it and changed it and rereleased it in the US. The US version has some better things about it but I think the UK version is the best of the two. You can see the UK version but it takes jumping through some hoops to get it and watch it in the US... I bought it on eBay and converted it using a computer program. Cause of different DVD regions.
I agree, I really enjoyed this scene.
2:56 that's not Jake who gives a hand signal to Macha, that's Gold, the devil who pushes Macha to kill himself and he does, 3:01 Jake only watches Macha's self destruction.
This film is still a pleasure to watch atleast in my opinion.
Rip to the legend
Ray is the man!!
Im glad this was cut out. The other version ends with jake finding relevation (killing his own ego in the elevator) and finally being accepted as partner with his jailmates, the chessplayer and the con artist. Which focus Revolver on relevation and salvation by escaping your ego. Its in the ending scenes with phd doctors and psychiatrists. *This ending portaits Ray as a scumbag (willing to kill a girl) . It also destroys illusion that little girl and her daddy got away, which is alot better.
It is complementary.
best film ever
Ray Liotta shoulda earned an award for this
I feel like if this movie would’ve came out this year people would have a deeper understanding and a meaning to it. 2005 was more a year for action movies in my opinion
I loved this movie because even at its core, it presents a rather important question to the viewer, are you willing to deal with your ego? And when you do, your life is gonna be significantly better, so why don’t you?
BEST MOVIE EVER!! IMDB and RT know nothing.
RT and IMDB lower the ratings of movies that give out too much truth
this films deep!
GOOD MOVIE!
showed Ray Lotta's character thinking/talking, how he aLL confused but tries to look calm.
my favorite actor ray liotta
Jason Statham is the best thing to happen to Hollywood Fans from Algérie Africa
2020. Still here.
Ray Liotta top actor!
Really wish we got this version as a proper release in the US, the DVD is that god awful re-cut which is probably why the movie failed here.
Agreed. I made a homemade version that's a mixed edit of the best of both versions. The third version of the film! Lol. That's what I think they should do, make a new version of the film that has all the better aspects of the original including the original ending, but with some of the improvements the US version had. (My secret edited version I think is really good but I can't share it unfortunately as that would be illegal lol.)
"The gold, sam gold" thEGOld
best scenario ever '' what is your game ,,,?'' ... 'you can't kill dead man ' ...''wher is your pride ''
I agree with you, this is one of my favorite movies! but I have not yet entirely clear, I think it's a movie to interpretation. For example, in your opinion who was Sam Gold? Zack and Avi really existed or only in the mind of Jack Green? sorry for my English but not speak it very well :)
This movie is fucking crazy
Such a great fucking movie. The music, the psychology within this movie and the acting was SUPERB! one of my favorite movies of all time.
