"Do I pander to the 200 people in the room or the 200 million people watching?" Ricky Gervais is the realest.

"I've always have been annoying people, since the age of six or seven, but I just wasn't getting paid for it, until I was about 38" That's an underrated quote.
That goes for a lot of comedians to be honest.
Why is it underrated
@@jamesbrennan7355 it’s not, the guy just has to say something to make up for just commenting an entire quote for likes/validity on a youtube video

The fact Ricky has a philosophy degree explains a couple things 😂
Check out the Ricky Gervais Show, especially when Ricky and Steve are talking philosophy with Karl. I'd always wondered if it was just one of those smart-guy things that Ricky just kind of knew a lot about philosophy but it's even more interesting now that I know he had a degree in it
It explains why he ended up in career that had nothing to do with his degree, there's very little in this world less useful (and more costly) than a degree in philosophy. Something I realised after taking 1 semester of it. Better to just read a book, less expensive and less full of itself

I understand that in some uncivilised countries it is considered acceptable to ask how much someone earns.
@@Milamberinx Shamefully, many Americans are notorious for that, but I was brought up being told it was rude to ask 1. how much someone earns, 2. how much land/properties someone owns, and 3. what someone does for a living (because it is a method to determine wealth)...and I'm American....different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
Americans always brag about how much money, ground, cars they own. Sometimes they just tell it out of the blue. Here (Netherlands) we don't do that. Be modest. But also, why should anyone know how much money I have..
