Ricky Gervais has found concrete proof that the theory of evolution by Darwin is incorrect. What's more, he found it in a dusty old book at home called the bible.

  • Ricky’s best statement was ‘destroy religious books and in a 1000 years they will come back different, destroy science books and in a 1000 years they will come back the same’ profound but yet so simple.

    • @@lawrence1318 I think you're getting the "science is always revising its ideas" part wrong. Yes, science has the capacity to change its ideas and create new hypotheses in order to provide the most accurate explanation to something. However, a lot of (hard) science such as the theory of evolution is a lot more refined and unchanging. Its ideas on natural selection and adaptation aren't really changing since they have been studied so much. Aside from the false notion that science is always having a dramatic shift in its ideas every so often, I assume that you're agreeing with Gervais in that these religious writings would be lost forever if they were to be burned, since they do not mirror the exact word or meaning of God. The Bible can be used as a tool to say anything a person wants, as long as it's what they think God might want them to say without actually having proof of it. You say it echos truth but how can you trust fallible man? I have two question: Is it not more likely that our negative emotions and the human conscience is the result of nature's work, evolution, and our brain, rather than the work of a god that's in conflict with not only the world's sea of religions but also with itself (its different sects, religious scripts, and interpretations?). How can any religion be trusted if everyone is so confidently devoted to their own religion while they think that everyone else is living a lie? My confidence in the nonexistence of man-made gods stems directly from people's arrogant, faithful belief in their own god and rejection of others. It is simply the Barnum effect and the natural human need for belonging and explanation for the unknown.

    • @@lawrence1318 Okay, my mistake. If you were born in a country with Islam as the dominant religion, would you realize Christianity was the true religion and if so, how? How would you know what was true or false without the right scriptures and how would you know if God wanted you to pursue Christianity or Islam?

    • @@lawrence1318 science revises itself _constrained by evidence_, so you see, roughly speaking, it's like a funnel, stricter and stricter, you have to explain at least as many facts that were explained by the preceding hypotheses, typically more. Religion (which is not about "having a conscience", you don't need religion for that) is about specific believes , most of the times involving details about conscious creatures creating the universe. Now, since there are thousands religions already (that we know of), and pretty much incompatible with each other, you would expect that in 1000 year other thousands would be created , wouldn't you? It's more like throwing dice

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the World through Him. For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, and All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. " If you want to be sure of Heaven and avoid the other place below say the following prayer sincerely from your heart." Lord Jesus I repent and am sorry for my sins forgive me. I forgive all who have offended me. Come into my heart and save me. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and baptise me with your Holy Spirit. I STILL fight the "demons" in my head from all the emotional agony religion caused me during my childhood years. I no longer believe in anything but ME and those that I surround myself with. I stopped feeling "rejected" by that god when I left religion, all those prayers that were NEVER answered, it truly messed with my head growing up. I now just live my life, whatever happens, I deal with it. No more endless days and hours of praying only to never be answered. It caused too much emotional and mental pain. I learned from my 32 year old son, you just live your life and when bad things happen, you just deal with it and that's that. When good things happen, enjoy it, that's just life. It's a much more peaceful way of living life. Live in the moment and deal with whatever comes up yourself or with the help of other REAL people.

    • Big Bang definition: The universe began with every speck of its energy jammed into a very tiny point. This extremely dense point exploded with unimaginable force, creating matter and propelling it outward to make the billions of galaxies of our vast universe. That’s great, but no professor could ever answer my simple questions. I was a very earnest atheist (as opposed to a God hater) and wanted valid scientific proofs. Where did that initial massive energy come from? How does an explosion of energy CREATE matter? If the matter were already contained in that dense point, where did it come from? Why was that the only explosion that created matter and it has never happened again? Shouldn’t other explosions create previously non-existent elements and galaxies? I still went on to get my degree in electronic engineering, but I consider the Big Bang Theory to be magical nonsense.

But according to the idea of the Big Bang, energy, space, time and matter came into existence at the same time. So energy, in all portions of the electromagnetic spectrum including light, existed along with the primordial form of matter. According to secular cosmology, matter coalesced into stars, which then radiated light. So either by the Big Bang theory or the biblical account light existed before the sun and stars.

And to top it off Gervais like most of his ilk has no children, so do they really believe in evolution in a way that matters? Nope, and that is the final joke.

For instance read Psalm 22 and then read the biblical account in New Testament about the crucifixion. It's exactly the same. Both of these were really a thousand years apart. Man can't do that.
