Some of the Quake Champions footage has no crosshair. Before anyone is like "wow how!?" just go try it, you'll be surprised how well you can do without it.
Hi Zy, Love your mouse reviews. Based on suggestions I bought the logitech g102 . I have super tiny hands so it suited me well. But soon after 6-7 months it started having double click issues and also wasn't that comfortable while flicking. Few years ago I had ss kinzu v1 that mouse might not have the best sensor but still I liked the shape and weight of it. Could you suggest me any new mouse with kinda the same ergonomics?
Pls play cs sometimes!!
@Vorpal I'm going to guess he's already got one (Don't you, Zy? ;p). Reviews are probably under embargo until release though.
I used to play Overwatch with no crosshair and i could aim decently anyway
can you review the asus rog pugio please love ya

In the early days of competetive PC gaming there were basically 2 camps. You had the Microsoft Intelli Mouse camp (any Intellimouse prior to 4.0), and the MX510/MX518 camp. Both legendary mice.
I own both of them and I use them all the time, I don't play competitively so I don't care for having the best latest sensor. I got my intellimouse from my brother several years ago Sucks that new old stock intellimice are so expensive and hard to find. But that happens when a product has high demand and is discontinued
the G502 has a nice grip, but it is way to heavy
im gunna take mine apart and drill holes all in it and replace metal scroll wheel and see how light i can make it lol.
@@icantseeanything.7625 Nice!
@@icantseeanything.7625 I already replaced my scroll wheel several months ago. It's a good start. The newest G502 has a lighter cord which has held up well and makes the mouse feel almost wireless. Bottom plate mod and holes are next. (Old wheel 16.18g new wheel 9.88g.)
G303 all the way. You can source them refurbished if you're lucky. I got mine from Ebay, and it was like brand new
i have it and is heavy even without the weights xd
2:44 I love how you kept this in the video :D
A wireless G502 that weights 90g or less will be a beast.
The shape of the g502 is definitely not ideal, but of course I'm speaking generally and not on behalf of everyone
Well, gpro wireless deliver the premise, but G502 have way too much things inside, adding wireless functionality will add the weight even more
The biggest issue with the mouse is the weight, but even then, the shape isn't the greatest, it's comfortable to just have your hands on, but not to aim with or pick up
@@KingBarney Na it's super comfy and I like it whenever I play cs and I can confirm that I play well with it but yeah the weight sucks but I mean the reason that I use the g pro wireless is the weight I don't like the shape as much but then again it's all personal preference
G703 says hello
Picked up the g403 based on some of your earlier reviews. Fits like a glove. Thx!
kudos for honesty, i had the same issues with mx518 with the little figner not resting properly
I use the rightside ledge on the MX518 for my ring and pinkie. I have a hard time picking up the g403 and deathadder as I use a pseudo-claw grip, but the g502 and g900 has a very slight ledge that I loved. I must politely disagree with your opinion that the 518 has a poor shape and it is certainly not out of nostalgia.
That's ok, I know some people love it. We're allowed to disagree. Thanks for doing it politely!
@@RocketJumpNinja Thanks for making great reviews!
I agree with Kikker completely. Maybe we just have the same hands/fingers that drape over the lip for a perfectly controlled grip. There's no better mouse control, for me, than the MX518. I never did shooters either until 2014, was on the deathadder then, then moved to the g400s because of a player named VonicVS. Just so happened switching to the g400s blew the deathadder out of the water shape-wise. The new sensor made all the difference however in this MX518 legendary mouse, for me.
I also use it like that. I missed this kinda grip tbh
I have the G402 and that ledge kind of sucks I got used to it quite a lot and dont care for it anymore, but its not something positive imo

Im excited to see a your review about the glorious odin when its released !
MX518 has now replaced my G402, strongly disagree regarding the shape issues mentioned, i find the MX518 much more comfortable than the 402 and i dont use a three-finger grip
Yea no clue wtf he was talking about, shape was the best thing about the mx518 and why it is regarded by many as the best
It seems I have found my people in the comment section 😂
Soo what grip do you use?
mx518 is the absolute king for lazy palm grippers.
100% agree, mx518's shape is what we love and its shape beats anything Ive ever tried. If he doesnt like the shape he shouldnt even be reviewing it in the first place. mx518's shape > anything Ive ever put my hands on still to this day.
"Sensors are so good now they're barely worth mentioning" I'm so glad that this is true. Few years back best options you had were Zowie mouse and some other mouse. Today you need to look for the shape and other features, and you will always get sensor wise a good mouse. Good riddance laser
What a coincidence that you released this video today. I also use the G502 right now but I decided to switch to the EC2-B wich is gonna be delivered in 2 days. I play Overwatch most of the time but sometimes I feel like the weight is making my playstyle more lazy since it is harder to do certain movements due to the weight (especially with Genji). I really hope that the EC2-B is gonna be an improvement.
g502, 4400 peak mccree main on overwatch. Best mouse hands down for mccree. every other hero i use a lighter mouse. only for mccree g502 is great
@@damned4lif3 yes indeed aiming as McCree feels really nice with the G502. Also Hanzo isnt that bad. I got to 4300 with it.
Yeah I forgot to mention hanzo, lol Hanzo is my 2nd favorite hero to play with the g502, all other heroes Im not as good at with the heavy mouse. but Hanzo and Mccree are t500 for me when using this mouse. Zowie s2 is really good with the shape, its just really tough making micro adjustments due to the garbage stock mouse feet that come with it. Ordered hyperglides and paracord and when they get here, I'm sure the zowie s2 will be even better then g502 for me.

So I just discovered your channel. Top tier reviews with lots of supporting comments to give me a good idea of what I'm looking at. My Corsair M95 Vengeance I got in 2013 is starting to die on me. 7 years is a pretty good run. But why am I commenting here and now, on a year old video? Well the weight, its a chonker sitting at 163g. And I never thought anything of it for the past 7 years. I Just ordered a Razer Viper. One of the lightest on the mainstream market due to a few days binge on your channel. I'm a decent shot in most FPS games. So lets see if the more than 50% reduction in weight helps me out! Thanks for all the effort you put in these man, it helps alot! (But also makes me think about it for too long haha)
As always best mice reviews in all KZhead, I really liked the G400/MX518 10 years ago, until I met the DeathAdder, now my favorite mice are lightweight ambidextrous mice like the G305 or the G Pro X (Death Adder still amazing).
I would really love to have som help with the visual settings you got going on in QL. Much love
Mos Def, I get the best out of my aim right after exercise. After 5 sets of 20 push-ups, arms feel so much more responsive playing OW that manical tears of joy and ecstasy may manifest- consult your doctor prior to tryin'. Aerobic exercise "just" puts me in the suitable alert n' oxygenated state to actually use my brain in game. :D But yeah, hypertrophy training of course increases- not just the muscle fiber count in my aiming hand, but also the percentage that is responsive to signals from the brain. I remember that pro athletes can recruit 20-30% of their muscle fibers, and going past that requires an adrenaline rush of the "My baby is trapped under a heavy object." caliber. Of course what I am pointing out is the input output process between you and the PC. Stimuli from the PC reaches your CNS through your senses, most likely vision or hearing. Your CNS responds sending commands to your mouse-arm to AIM_and_KILL- or whatever is the issue at the time. If your arm is unresponsive, or inconsistent in it's responsiveness etc. You are screwed my friend, go back to physical training and ascend back to the virtual realm, when you are... prepared. Or eat some oatporridge for a steady blood glucose and hence- steady energy- which naturally leads to a better functioning physical vessel to issue commands better to your fateful PC.
i just had a g903 go bad on me ( double/triple clicking left button switch) and used your reviews as a guide to a better gaming mouse, i went with the g305 and im really impressed. was really really worried about going logitech again but heck switches can go bad on anything i guess. the g305 really does do itself proud for the money. i was really tempted by a g pro wireless but just couldnt justify the price right now especially after having a g903 go bad. im sure ill buy a switch and solder it it but for now the g305 feels really good and your review was a big help. earned a subscribe, thanks dude.
Hey i just bought a fk1 thanks to your videos. Thanks alot
next buy: glorious odin white glossy :] *hyped*
Ninja, I have arm pain and can pretty much only use mice with the ledge on the right side - the ledge allows me to hook my finger over and lift the mouse up, rather than squeeze.
I wish to have my own mice collection! Good luck to you zy, keep the good work on
Gave my old MX518 away back in the day, cause it gave me wrist pain. Shape feels really odd, and it kinda forces you to use 3 fingers. Good that you gave it a honest review without nostalgia gogggles.
4:22 Of course we have to listen to you. All hail Lord Zy
2:35 Wow you're a savage dude haha!
Love Ur content man!
he is so talented to pick it up I can't do that
Hanging out for your Glorius Model O review. It's literally looking like the perfect fk1/2/ultralight hybrid if you look at the dimensions. Its perfect.
Voted "it's okay" in the poll, as in, I appreciate logitech catering to the 3 fingers-on-top seekers (since I'm one of those), but due to the button sizing/placements I'd only use it if it came in a "Andre the Giant" size. I didn't notice the lack of a G502 video on the channel before... I think you mentioned it in other videos here and there. I've highly enjoyed your reviews of mice for the comprehensiveness and practicality! Even though my style of mousing is slightly different (and so my own top 10 would be completely different if I had to rank them! lol), I find your mouse videos *so* much better to watch than other youtubers'. Good shit to meditate on before making a purchase/decision. I _totally don't_ rewatch about half this channel's videos when buying a new mouse 😏
Have you ever thought about creating a secondary channel where you upload gameplay? I'd love to see some 15-20 minute quake or csgo gameplay every once in a while
I use the g502 for all the buttons. As I come from console, so my usage of keyboard isn't quite where it should be.
Exactly Zy. For smaller precise movements you use your smaller muscles and for bigger stronger moves you use your bigger ones. So you can't be really precise with bigger weights cause you will use bigger sets of muscles.
I bought the g403 a year ago because of your recommendation and I couldn't be happier with the purchase
Best mice reviewer on youtube. Thanks for all your unbiased and honest reviews.
The original Mx518 from several years back is my favorite mouse 🐁, it's the one I use the most often, so I'm so used to its shape it works really well for me They brought it back probably because of nostalgia reasons. I wish they kept the 3d liquid metal finish cause I think it looks really awesome, the new one with the smooth finish looks a little bland in comparison imo
Apart from the mice (I'll keep my G403), I just LOVE to see your mad skills ingame!
Reminds me of the g7 which was an old fav of mine back in the day. Was wireless but felt comfortable. I also use my fingers in that config to be over all buttons, for a long time i thought i was just crazy.
About the weight training thing, anecdotal evidence from coaches I've heard talk about this subject suggests it would be bad. Lots of baseball coaches and players have tried this idea with weighted bats or balls and what happens is you get used to doing the movements differently and more slowly to account for the heavier weight which just messes up your form when you go back to the normal weight. Maybe there's some merit to getting stronger in general, though.
2:31 my man cant lift the mouse with one hand lmao
For me, scroll wheel and middle button is very important. I'm a 3D designer, need to pan and zoom a lot. It's sometimes tricky to find a mouse that doesn't fail too soon. Some mice have mushy rubber that deteriorates in a year or so and becomes unscrollable.
I've been using my MX518 for over a decade, it's still good as new. I was sad to know that it's no longer sold, and I hoped mine will work another decade. And then I hear they're reactivating it! I will buy one just as backup.
I thought the same but the cord is a bit more flexible on the new one and with it being lighter you'll prlly end up using the legend as your main. I'm really happy with it
Hey Zy, are you going to review that new glorious mouse soon?
I still don't have a copy, so no. But yes, I will eventually, when/if they send one out (they said they would when it's ready).
OMG that mouse looks hectic, if the cable is good, I will probably buy one
When did they say it was going to arrive (estimate)
I bought an air58 from their website they Then told me they couldnt deliver the mouse and i didnt get a refund😢 hope glorious is better
SuperCaptainMOo it has a cable that is basically a parachord on it
The MX518 Shell is perfect for me, i had G502 but it's harder to handle in comparison to G400S for example. For me G502 is overrated because they've fixed something that shouldn't been fixed - shell shape. G500 and G500S shell was good too. G502 has the worst shape among MX518/G5x family.
Thanks for this review ! I would have liked it even more a month ago when I bought the G502. It's fantastic. But it's too slow because of it's weight
Hey Zy. Let me just start off by saying that I still love your videos! One question: do you still recommend the G203 as for my first ever gaming mouse? How does it stack up against the Steelseries Rival 110, Corsair Harpoon RGB and Sharkoon Shark Force?
Before I had a mouse that was almost 200 grams, so when I got my G502 it felt like a feather lol, although I've learnt I like slightly heavier mice.
Which mouse has so much weight, did they put in a block of lead?
Do you still recommend the 305? I have been using the 203 for a year now and I'm tired of the cable but the shape is perfect for me, this is my favorite mouse shape I have tried.
Dellox the g305 is literally the 203 but with the hero sensor and it’s wireless with 1ms response time (faster than some wired mice)
He has it as 6th on his list. I have the 305 and love it. Not having a cable is actually one of my favorite features about it. I came from a heavier mouse (602) and instantly noticed my aim improve. The 203 is already light though so you may notice a drastic change like I did.
Give it a try. I have both of them, so I can compare. 305 has better main buttons, better wheel (for gaming), better plastic , and the hero sensor is way better than the mercury, may be god-like aimers can see no difference (give them an office mouse and they still will destroy you), but I can feel the difference. Make sure to use it with lithium battery, you even can remove top cover for weight reduction, so it would be lighter than 203.
@@user-ky3we1sw8r those were my plans I like small weight Mice way more. Thank you all for responses
I've tried the 502, 402, 903 and 403.... the mx518 and g400s have really worked well for me, and the frame around the keys are actually one of the things that i like most about it. I do not right click with the tip of my middle finger so the frame is a great place to rest my finger tip and my pinky fits right below the defined edge. I just wish they'd make a 2022 version with less latency and travel and get rid of the gloss.
i use a g102 due to your review. i love it and it was only 25 euro. thanks for the recommendation.
I went from a final mouse back to a mx518 legendary and my accuracy improved immediately. I think this is a shape you need to practice with for a while to take advantage of it and really understand why people like it so much.. The edges you don't like are what a lot of us like about it.. also your hands might be too small for the 518 if final mice feel too big for you
I have played with it a lot, it's just not for me. It's cool if you like it though!
@@RocketJumpNinja I never really used 1-3-1 for it either.. my ring finger stays over the ledge with 1-2-2 which gives me quite a bit more control than I get with other mice.. but I have larger hands in general so this position over the ledge feels just fine to me. I could see why others might not like that position with this shape
@@crookedjack5499 well, if your ring is on top, its 1-3-1. that "ring rest" is what makes the mouse so good imo
Can you do a review on the glorious model O?
Your videos have been very helpful. Thank you. I'm a total pc gaming noob, and started using the g502 on a friends suggestion. It never has felt very comfortable. What would be your top pick for someone with wider hands? My hands measure 7.75" x 4.25". Thanks for any help!
My original MX518 lasted me until 2012. A total of 8 years. I haven't found a higher quality mouse since then when it comes to simplicity, performance & longevity. I'm stoked they brought this back, the shape is perfect for anyone with my hand size and grip style which I would assume is a lot of people. It wouldn't of been brought back if people didn't ask them for it. I personally am using a Zowie EC1-A and I have no complaints. I didn't get a MX518 off Amazon or ebay just because I don't trust people online. If this was out at the time, I would of got this. No questions asked.
Of course the G502 is one of the best selling gaming mice - all houses need bricks, right?
nice joke mate
People cry over 30 grams and yet they are fine with poorly made and cheap buttons, scroll wheels and mice materials in general (in the same price range!). But yeah, we're all a pro e-sports who play at 50dpi with 25g mice.
@@L0vac exactly my thoughts... it seems they're all playing with their noodle arms and then cry about not even 30g, for mouses around 100g people say they're too heavy, same as everyone seems to be overusing bottleneck.
@@rakhoo5236 go cry to your mom about arm pain from sliding around a whoooooooooopppppping 125g mouse :D
@@rakhoo5236 just cause you "do" mma does not make you strong :D Stop telling lies to people , your noodles hurt from sliding all that extra weight around :D And nope, I don't own the 502, for me it's the 902 that fits. But I find it funny that you'll go that low over a silly mouse, a thing your mom buys for you.
4:36 "...and be more comfortable and happier" He just wants us to be happier. such a fair maiden.
The allure for the mx518, in my case, was the ring finger rest. I like that there's a place designed for every finger. Because it was my first mouse I got really used to the ring finger space, so that I HATED squeezing the sides of other mice and I HATED having my ring finger on the right mouse button. G502 and similar did a poor job of that ring finger rest. It might be the MX518 spoiled/ruined me for other mice. I'm using a FM58 but I still go back to the new Legendary. Will be trying the ODIN soon.
I have Carpal Tunnel and I have to wear a wrist brace while PC gaming nowadays. The G502 is perfect for me because my movement with my wrist brace on is a little shaky, and the heavy weight helps to smooth out my movement. It takes a bit more effort (and I've had to raise my sensitivity by quite a bit) but the overall smoothness I get compared to some other gaming mice I have tried works out well for me. Also for anything that isn't an FPS (RTS, RPG, Strategy, Puzzle games, whatever) it is perfect too. I think that if I didn't have Carpal Tunnel I would use another mouse, but in my current situation it just feels perfect.
Hehe, didn't think you'd like this one ;D I personally use the MX518 Legendary with a 1-3-1 like this: basically index on left click, middle finger on right click and instead of having your ring finger on the side like a normal 1-2-2 you just put it on top of the right side ledge. This way distance between fingers will probably be almost like your normal 1-2-2 instead of increasing distance between pinky and ring finger (wich can cause cramps in some) by going index-m1, middle-wheel and ring-m2. It's absolutely not a safe shape mouse so anybody considering this: try it at a friends' or get it from a shop with a great return policy if you don't already know/love the shape. For some reason I aim great with it, but only with the grip I've just described; for some reason it's one of the best ''palm-fits'' which I can use in palm or claw grip I can find, when I grip it like that. But if you're simply curious or don't have a good return policy vendor available to you I'd recommend steering clear of this mouse and going for a safer option. It's not exactly light either ;p What I like most are the sidegrips and cable. The sidegrips are great for sweaty hands like mine (unlike the *very* glossy top; a combination I don't understand at all) and the cable is more flexible than my EC1-A, G203 or (of course) G403. I wish the sidegrip material was used on more mice for sweaty mits like mine. A great nostalgia trip for me that misses out on quite a few points, like Zy pointed out, nonetheless.
"Index on left click, middle finger on right click and instead of having your ring finger on the side like a normal 1-2-2 you just put it on top of the right side ledge." This is how I've held my g400 for the past 5 years and now I'm trying to get used to a g703 without the ledges and it feels weird to need to squeeze the mouse to pick it up, with the ledges you can just kind of rest the mouse in your hand and pick it up. I wish the new mx518 was wireless.
@@dafasdasf Yeah imho they could've definitely gone ''that extra mile'' and made it lighter, possibly wireless (despite this being a *great* flexible cable) and with a non-glossy top (seriously, the material on the sides is amazing) etcetera... but I think this was done to save costs *and* at the same time keep true to the original. I don't fully agree with that, but I still like the outcome.
G502 would be perfect if it was lighter and better shape. I love the button layout
That's basically the 402. Check that out.
Exactly just get G402
Thank you for that 518 part :D Literally only reason why i own it and use it is literally back from 2005, for my hand it's perfect fit and basically everything around between 90-125gr is good weight for me, anything lower than that and im basically throwing mouse around and not aiming :D
The rattle on my G502 was obnoxious; in a quiet room you could constantly hear it rattling even from small movements, so I returned it.
Shape-wise "outdated" does not always mean "bad". It's just a personal preference. 100g is not a big problem either.
Yeah the fuck 100g brick is a problem lmao
@@Neiva71 Yeah you must be good at games kappa

Imagine someone saying "You see, the shape of the 69 GTO Judge is outdated, and in my opinion didn't need to be brought back". Obviously it's outdated, and obviously people loved the shape, and that's EXACTLY why it needed to be brought back: quite a lot of people loved the shape, these same people asked for the shape back. It shouldn't be too hard to understand such concept. Other than that, great channel and great video.
i clicked on this reply button with my 15 year old MX510 and i very much agree. most likely gonna get the MX518 Legendary on black friday
@@donjenzuss3712 I got mine last week. It's the best mouse I've ever used. Not only because we're used to the shape, but because it has a top sensor (no smoothing, angle snapping and no negative acceleration, all were present in the old MX series), no bullshit RGB, cable seems pretty good, and obviously because Logitech builds things to last.
@@asj511 on my local store's website there were some reviews saying that the mouse1 started feeling weird after like a week or so, has there been any of that on your mouse? And also is the cable the same as the older mice, MX510 and 518 in particular?
@@donjenzuss3712 No problems whatsoever here. About the cable: it's not the same as on the older mice. On the older mice the cable is quite thick, but it kinks pretty easy because there's a lot of plastic in it. On the new MX518 the cable is thin but it's actually made of rubber, so it doesn't kink.
@@asj511 Nice, thanks man. I really hope it goes on sale here since i kinda don't wanna buy a 60€ mouse right now.

I really like my G502. I've got all the weights in it as I like a heavy mouse. It fits my hand well and for all the mice I've used it's definitely one of my favourite. I'm 100% that it's all uptown what the individual likes.
I have quite a bit of mice. But have been using the g502 for months now as I found the shape more comfortable than the g403. But I don't really enjoy either of them much. A mouse that I did and do love was the Sharkoon Drakonia that I've bought 3 times over the past 6 years which had one of the worst sensors to public opinion being the Avago 9500 laser. But for what ever reason I loved that mouse. Now though in 2019 I just recently got the Sharkoon Drakonia II since they made a follow up of my first love which released a couple months ago and hasn't really been purchasable over here in the US, had to order it from some website I never heard of. I love the shape and weight and have been playing better ever since I got it. Has more than enough buttons but just brings me back and improves my overall "feel" when I play a video game. I always felt input lag in Quake Champions with any mouse I've used, but now that input lag (although still there) seems less hindering to my play ability and doesn't put me off from wanting to play as much.
aww poor mx518 you roasted it. me i really love it. no sensor or lag test.....
G502 is like Jack of all trades, it have all thing you expect from expensive mouse, but it kinda ok in every situation, nothing it superior to
sry for the unrelated question but im trying to find a new mouse pad and im struggling and u seem to use the same kind of mouse pad i like to use so here goes: i used the qck heavy for over 4 years now and i cant do micro adjustments with it. either the static friction is too high or me pushing down on my mouse a lot makes it sink in too much. (spraying and pistols both feel bad so i think its static friction) its to the point that i stopped using good ch placement and aim in the middle of nowhere cause my flicks are spot on (great stopping power and control) so i want a new pad thats a bit faster than the heavy with very low static friction but still good stopping power. cleaned it yesterday and switched to my super worn roccat taito and it was way better. so smth like that (its the pre 2017 version since mines like 6 years+ old now) with even less static friction if possible i looked at a lot of pads and right now id think the dream machines one is good but theres very little reviews. artisan zero seems to be regarded as the best for my needs but id like to spend less than 30 bucks and some ppl say it still has moderate static friction while the dream machine one is very close just a bit rougher which im okay with. glorious seems to have quality issues (small bumps/fraying/weird knots where the stitching is connected/dust magnet/gets worse fast) pure track seems to have low static friction but also very low dynamic friction and i dont wanna lose my accurate flicks no reviews on the infensus op xl raindrop very low static friction but small and very slow and im not a fan of razer so i dont really want the goliathus control (also big green print and prize) so tl:dr a mousepad a bit faster than the qck heavy, size around 450x400, lowest static friction possible while keeping decent dynamic friction/control and if uve used the pad in question for a while id love one that doesnt wear down too much / can be cleaned to original perfomance (heard a lot of mousepads getting very slow/sticky over time even with cleaning which would result in the same old problems) logitech g305 1600 dpi 0.8 in game
I used to use an MX518 many, many years ago, and did indeed use the three finger grip, middle finger always on middle mouse / scroll wheel. Moved to a CM Storm Spawn from that, used that for many years as well, and just recently had to retire it due to a broken scroll wheel, and am now on a Corsair mouse with the same sensor I got used to in the Spawn and its...OK. I want my Storm Spawn back honestly.
I mean it is an amazing mouse, but I don’t get why people say it’s overrated. Just look for example at the Air 58 (Ninja) same mouse but lighter and it’s very overrated.
Kayneee the air 58 cannot even be compared to the g502... they air 58 is a different shape, lighter and has less buttons and a different sensor.
Kayneee Please realise that the Air 58 is over 2 times lighter. The cable for the Air 58 is far superior and there aren’t any gimmicks. It’s not overrated, the weight is amazing.
Just because something is incredible and used by so many proffesionals doesn't it's overrated lmao. A ~60g mouse is absolutely crazy
For me personally the MX518 has the best shape for my hand (I think "fingertip grip" is what you call the way I hold it) and I think the reason why you don't like the shape is because you are holding it the wrong way. The way I hold the mouse is with my middle finger on the wheel at all times and the groove on the pinky side allows me to move and even to pick it up just with the thumb and the pinky. It is perfectly balanced to do exactly that and light enough for it to be very easy to repeat without straining the wrist or fingers. I played Quake (QW and Q3) extensively between '96 and '08 and starting with the MX500 (in '02), which is the first mouse with that specific shape, I have not found another mouse shape that suits me as well as this one does.
See the way I hold it is pinching in with you thumb on one side and your pinky and ring finger on the other and your index and middle finger resting on top
its so satisfying watching you play quake you hit so many good shots
we have the same hand size and i use a clay / fingertip hybrid. should i get the gpro wireless or get a zowie mouse? love your videos by the way great in depth information on every mouse on the market great job.
Small Dotted Crosshair For The Win!
I honestly prefer heavy mice. Light mice make my aim way worst for the most part
For sure. Same here
I got banned on a server for doing serial headshots with G502 in Battlefield 3. It's a very good mouse across the board, it has just enough extra buttons for WoW too (two extra buttons next to the left click work super well for hunter class). For competitive shooters there are better options, but they will be worse for other use cases. It's like min-maxing.

Fair play , it really is all about preference. For instance I don't like the S2. I had some quality issues with mine even though I liked the shape. Love my MX518 legendary for most games , but for quake I use my G303.
Totally agree with your review, even though it's my fav mouse (giant hands, infinite scroll, etc), it feels slow for muitiplayer games where people try to make unpredictable moves, singleplayer games are great because otherwise it is quite good. Definitely a “try before you buy” mouse.
I've modded my g502 down to about 100grams. It feels a lot better now. And it's pretty easy to do. Edit: Here are some pictures of my mouse after I modded it: imgur.com/gallery/AViNSHk imgur.com/gallery/6XdgMod imgur.com/gallery/GqCgb5E IMPORTANT: This isn't for everyone. I simply tried removing as many parts of the mouse I don't use and also removing as many parts that don't make the mouse a lot more uncomfortable for me. I have fairly small hands so I was able to remove a lot of unnecessary stuff. This might not be the case for you. Since a lot of the unnecessary weight is on the back side of the mouse, after removing it, the mouse won't be very balanced. For me, this isn't that big of a deal. But I know many people will find it uncomfortable. Lastly, if you're still thinking of doing this here are some other videos that helped me, and might help you. kzhead.info/sun/fqWSaJmoaKRvlnA/bejne.html&t (Kinda a tutorial) kzhead.info/sun/dNawksubh6B-i2w/bejne.html (I didn't do this part) kzhead.info/sun/iNabot6rbaWkdKs/bejne.html&t (Just a basic disassembly) kzhead.info/sun/dduyhK6ZjaWuqXk/bejne.html&t (Scroll wheel disassembly) Good luck

Doesn't Ninja use the G502 for competitive play in Fortnite? He swears by it.
That was years ago. He moved on to Finalmouse and even promoted a mouse with them ... the Finalmouse Air58 Ninja.
Lol when was the last time you've seen Ninja play? He hasn't used that mouse in YEARS
So the G502 is not a good buy? I'm going to buy a new replacement very soon for games like R6S.
Hey Zy, would you be able to recommend a mouse based on handsize (19.5 x 10)? You probably get a lot of this, but i need something smaller/lighter than the Steelseries Rival i have now (original rival). I put aim before comfort playing csgo at a quite competitive level.
2:45 dem Quake skill coming in clutch. After playing so much DM I'm not surprised this happened.
I honestly love the G502 and am on my 2nd one. Personally i like the heavy weight to it and the "sniper" button to slow the dpi, but i dont play competitive fps.
G502 is pretty overrated for me, I prefer simple light mouses like the zowie lineups or similar mouses I play CSGO btw
I play cs semi pro in my country and i use the g502
Trust me you need those extra buttons
@@radoman7659 Not really, but that is your opinion and preference. I don't need extra buttons for competitive CS:GO. I only use MOUSE5 for Push To Talk.
@@radoman7659 semi pro NA????????
I used the G402 (not 502 but similar) and the main thing that annoys me is the sniper button. The thing is that you can`t position your thumb properly. There is also a sharp groove on the right so ring finger gets tired quickly (my hand is 19 cm). And lastly, it`s generally very low so you probably won`t make your 2 fingers rest on the mouse if you use palm grip. I`d say that the most comfortable mice are the Zowie ones, followed by Logitech GPro (G102, G305).
Still waiting in the that swiftpoint Z review would be pretty cool to see your review
Just my personal opinion, I love the G502
Me 2
same, I've used heavy mice for years, going to something light for me feels weird, I also don't play 3D arena shooters when I have to do rocket jumps and 180 flick shots so my opinion would prob change if i did
My opinion on G502 -By far the best for casual use -Overrated for competitive fps
It can't be overrated in competitive since pros use what suit their needs, the point is that it is not for everyone.
@@TheRanscat In all fps, I've seen less than 4 pros use it
Guys, guys, guys. The “pros” use whatever is sent to them, they get it for free.
No they dont lmao ^ pros use the best of the best, which is why most of them use light mice from Zowie, logitech, and steelseries
Pokemon Addict if pros just used what was sent to them by sponsors, all pros would have razer and Logitech.
I have medium sized hand (18cm exactly) what mouse you yiu recommend? I play sea of thieves mostly but I do switch between apex legends and CS.GO. I've only been playing pc for about 8 months so I'm not too experienced in choosing them.
Hey Zy, Long time viewer here, since I first started playing CS:GO competitively I started exercising my forearms as well (wrist aim) and that did help my aim, but mainly for consistency. I didn't get crazy fast but instead got a lot more consistent, so it's definetly advisable.
Enough grip strength is somewhat important.
hi dad edit: when are you gonna add the discord link in the description
I like my g502 it has an almost perfect fit for my hand
I do believe that lifting weights provides a tangible benefit to aim if you have shaky hands. Only going by personal experience but i shake pretty badly and after I started a strength regime it got much better. Exercise helps muscles to not spasm so it make sense. I think forearm movements in particular would help a lot
Hey Rocket Jump, im looking to get a new mouse, I love my g302 daedalus but it's time for a new mouse. I've used a g502 but its too heavy for me, the g403's shape felt extremely uncomfortable for me so i gave it to a friend, also the deathadder feels like a fuckn boat. I have a fingertip/claw grip and my hand size is pretty much the same as your give or take a few MM, any recommendations? I mainly play shooters and don't care for looks, something between 80-90g.
