  • As a programmer this is music to my ears. The speed and signal quality of this tech will seem amazing when witnessing the application of this data. Giving a real-time computer voice to those who can't physically speak, running programs simply by thinking a commands, pinging Google and possibly getting understandable feedback (no idea how the feedback is interpreted by brain), the list is endless. I'm super curious what the experience will be like when receiving input, hopefully I can ask one of the early adopters who will be pioneers in using this tech. Will it be a learning process like a child where you get back data but the brain doesn't know what it is? Perhaps over time the brain recognizes patterns and you develop an understanding of the information until you eventually become highly proficient at understanding it in the same way one might learn to read. I'd love to work on a telepathy program, or perhaps the eventual program that will tap into our visual cortex and allow us to actually see an input stream. Super hyped about this tech!

  • This is like if we got to see a prototype of an iphone before version 1 came out. Very excited for the future of this tech and the benefits it can provide especially for those who need it most. Hopefully this gets them some new big brain applicants, I would need the neural link already in my brain to be qualified for any of the positions.

  • Neuralink's three little pig snout band. It would be great to see the three pigs play music together as a performance. Just map the electrodes to MIDI keys and channels, and I'm sure the good folk at Neuralink can work out the rest. Neuralink could charge say $100 per ticket for a seat at the show, and $150 for the option to choose a song from the "duke box". My suggestions for two songs on the duke box are: John Farnham's - You're the voice Elvis Presley's - Rock around the clock I think many people will be willing to pay good money to see the three little pig snouts perform.

  • 1000~ In a 2019 white paper, we outlined the design of our novel electrodes and our unique surgical approach, along with preliminary electrophysiology obtained in a rodent model. That generation of the Link had wired leads and a connector that protruded through the skin, and was an important platform for developing and validating our robotic surgical approach and our ultra low-power custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) for amplifying and processing neural signals. In 2020, we publicly shared a wireless version of the Link that was able to stream 1,024 channels of action potentials (also called “spikes”) wirelessly and in real time (Fig. 1). We demonstrated its functionality by recording somatosensory (touch) signals in pigs exploring their environment. The electrodes were placed in a part of the brain involved in processing signals from the pig’s exquisitely sensitive snout.

  • The real task at hand ahead is to achieve input band that will be big enough to collect the whole brain's function together which then can be used for further study and also second being interpretation/decoding of these electrical pulses/waveforms to actual action/thoughts of the brain.....
