It happened again as a white man called the police on a black person, but now it was because of a coupon. The man’s hand was shaking uncontrollably as he called from inside a Chicago CVS drug store. Shopper Camilla Hudson says she tried to use a coupon but when the store manager questioned its authenticity, 911 was called. "She's African-American,” the man said on the phone. “I'm not African-American, I'm black, black is not a bad word!” Hudson exclaimed. #InsideEdition

Did any of the employees try to scan the coupon? That’s seems like the most reasonable next step...Scanning would have answered the question of it it being fake or not.

CVS HQ confirmed that the coupon is good. Also, coupons post coupons on their site so customers can print them. It's a proven money saver. Saves the company money on color printing and postage.

The cops said they were called over a customer threatening staff. We don't know what happened before the cameras started rolling, but he is visibly shaking which kinda supports the idea that those threats actually happened.
He could have checked with someone above him to see if the coupon was legit.
All he needed to do was scan the damn coupon to see if it was real; it shouldn't take more than 30 seconds of his life. If it wasn't real, he would have a valid reason to refuse it. And even that wouldn't be enough to get police involved unless she got violent, which she clearly wasn't.

Don't call the woman cheap because retailers create coupons for their customers to use. CVS HQ said the coupon was valid. He lost his job because he accused a customer of fraud, without proof.
