  • Beautiful work. Very nice as a demonstration of how to fix something like this. Understandably useless for repairing the Axle. Useful if for example the car will be displayed in a museum.

    • In developing countries it is cheaper to fix than buy a new one. The main reason being cheap labor. Whereas in the West, a simple limb movement translates into a ridiculously high labor cost. Becuase in the west we pay for stupidity and common sense, and admittedly, so much safety precautions as well. Good for employees, but bad for consumers who bear all the cost.

  • Мастер очень удачливый и смелый человек.После просмотра я узнал много навых приемов в работе и что для удачной работы достаточно резбового резца с ножовкой и молотком.Тормозить патрон руками тоже возможно и на все технологии можно не обращать внимание.Когда всему научиться то начальство подарит трон токаря как в видео чтоб посидеть в рабочее время.

  • Robota bez zarzutu, profesjonalizm i myślenie przy pracy na najwyższym poziomie tylko skutek tego marny będzie to po prostu pęknie bo to półoś do ciężarówki i ma przenosić ogromny moment obrotowy. Jeśli skrzynia biegów na 1-szym biegu zmniejsza obroty 5 razy to zwiększa 5 razy moment i przekładnia główna mostu tylnego to samo to moment obrotowy zwiększa się 25 razy przykładowo z 1000-2000 Nm to 25-50 tys Nm. To ogromna siła i takie czarowanie wytrzyma do pierwszego mocnego naciśnięcia gazu. Szkoda tej pięknej roboty na 5 minut jazdy !

  • Two things. 1 Great job fixing it. You are definitely skilled tradesmen. 2 please do not drive with it... if it broke once, it will certainly do it again with welds, which will not hold up as well as a stock forged piece.

    • Sounds like you never used a low hydrogen electrode before. They're well-known for high tensile strength and for producing welds more durable than the base metal. Let's see you fix cast iron and control the restarts of a low hydrogen rod.

    • ​@@dominik11113Welding current is passing thru lathe's bearings and pitting the rollers and races. Grounding clamp should be on the axle but was on lathe's frame. That allowed worker to rotate axle while welding. Entire process showed great skill in machining, fabricating and welding to produce a sub-standard axle which will fail in a fully loaded truck in traffic. The lathe will cut crookedly as the bearings disintegrate.

  • When such a thick axle rod breaks by the torsional force means the whole rod is affected. By adding a joint and repairing it can not be a permanent solution. Is it sustainable or it is just a one time fix.? I am wondering.

  • Ещё как минимум надо было сделать отжиг сварных швов. И, как мне кажется, электроды лучше было бы использовать с нержавейки для прочности. А места сварки надо было сделать толще, чтобы после обтачивания не получились тоньше вала. Да и сварку лучше производить при вращении шпинделя на малой скорости. И я бы использовал полуавтомат до полного заполнения швов без обстукивания с последующим подогревом горелкой при медленном остывании...

  • Я конечно не технолог, не токарь и не сварщик, но... очень странный подход. Почему с одной стороны резьба, а с другой всадной монтаж? Я бы оставил минимум вала для центровки, сделал бы всад с обеих сторон и максимум бы заварил по толщине, а у этих ребят дай бог половина толщины проварена.

  • They don't make axles out of chromoly anymore. Looks like spring steel to me. My bike is chromoly and it never breaks. Spring steel has to be welded with low hydrogen rods more often than chromoly.
