  • You need to make grooves for welding lathe shaved the weld ----^---- lathe no weld -------- ---- v ---- the groove will be filled by welding then lathe -----v-----

  • Sketchy. He annealed the shaft to make it soft enough for the tool to machine it but never re hardened it......... cash the check quick!

    • Everything is fine except for harding ,this type of drive shaft takes high torque, and the harding must be maintained

  • If you want to eliminate the chatter when you're cutting threads, take off less material in one pass. Good repair, considering the resources you guys have.
