  • Judging by the casting marks/lines on the cam it does look like he indexed as well as set the distance, I would think threading it would make that nearly impossible to do, guy must be good or later cut those threads off and left that part out of the video. Cleans up lobes with file at the end 😂

  • The wngine that camshaft is going in, will not run right. That timing is going to be very off. He only worried about the distance from lobe to lobe & not the placement of it as far as when each lobe should be at the top or (OPEN) of the stroke

    • I'm sure he is not that stupid, you can see by his talent in doing the job its not his first time and would have taken into consideration. did you not see how he changed the position of the lobes before welding.

    • ​@@incubatork I never Said or implied he was stupid. And even if you seen him adjusting the cam lobes, if it's off by even one onethousandths of an inch it won't run. Not saying it won't run ar all, but it won't run right.

    • @@kalani1963 Rubbish, of course it will run, a slight difference in the lobe position is just like a bit of slack or tightness in the tappet adjustment, or a worn down cam, engines are very forgiving in that respect, also the diesel injection pump can be advanced or retarded to account for any timing differences

  • Mal trabajo .Si el ojo se quebro antes con un espesor de pared de 16 mm Tu lo soldastes y lugo al tornear para en camisar sacastes por lo menos 6mm Entonces nos queda la pared del ojo de 10mm ,Se vuelve a romper 😅la solución mejor es medir bien los ángulo cortar y hacer un nuevo ojo Entonces si aguanta

    • In my own observation, base on what are shown in the video (the whole process of repair is not shown), steel have different categories/grades. The parts being repaired are major and critical. In welding - first the kind and class of the part to be welded must known to have proper procedure how to repair and identify the material to be used like welding. Repair of the parts shown must be precised otherwise more damage will occur when these repaired parts are reinstalled and used. Rotating parts need precise alignment in the installation.
