Kobe shot above 43% from the field (a below-average mark) in the finals only once in 7 tries and a combined 29.7% from the field in the 4th quarter of his last two finals series. LeBron is the better passer/playmaker, rebounder, help defender, rim protector, and scorer (by every efficiency metric except mid-range and free throw %). Kobe's highest ts% for a postseason is a mere 0.4% higher than LeBron's average ts% in the playoffs. LeBron has more of nigh every award in the book except defensive team selections (which Kobe's own coach said wasn't always deserved) and championships. Kobe was a 22.3-5.8-3.5-1.2-0.6 statline on 41.4% shooting in elimination games in his career compared to LeBron's historic 33.5-10.7-7.5-1.6-1 on 48.8%. LeBron has 5 game-winning buzzer beaters in the playoffs to Kobe's 1 and (sorry for including something subjective) _way_ more legacy-defining playoff games. Kobe missed the playoffs in 2005 after the Lakers made the finals the previous year, and he blew a 3-1 lead to the Suns in 2006, something LeBron has never done, let alone in the first round of the playoffs. He also went to 7 finals in 10 years. Duncan started the era amazing but he was not the same player at the end of the decade, I believe 07 onward he averaged 20 or less for the remainder of his career. Turn of the decade he had avg 13 a game such a huge dropoff whereas Kobe was still avg 25+ for a few more years before the Achilles gave out. Also, Kobe was #1 in scoring for the decade, and his franchise had a lot of turnaround from GM (Jerry to mitch), players obviously shaq trade, coaches with Phil leaving and having Rudy and then Phil returning, the rise and fall and rise again of the lakers is something I admire too much to put Timmy ahead.
