  • the craziest part is kobe is a 46% shooter and lebron is a 51% shooter but when they matched up , kobe shot 42% and lebron shot 46% just goes to show the level of defence that they played against each other

    @tridra5714@tridra57144 ай бұрын
    • Incorrect. Let me give you some real facts n real numbers. Head to head: Bron was literally light work to Kobe. When literally guarding each other on iso plays, kobe scored 20 points ppg while lebron scored 7 points ppg …. Also, when guarding each other, Kobe scores those 20 on a fg% of 54% while lebron had a fg% of 27% when kobe was on him…so on Offense or on defense ..Kobe completely dominated lebron. Pure skill. There’s levels to it. This video isn’t about Kobe vs Bron. It’s about the lakers vs whatever team lebron was on or created at the time. Cuz one on one..Kobe ate.

      @fattony9227@fattony92274 ай бұрын
    • @fattony9227 "degree of difficulty"? Is that what we're calling hitting the back iron over 2 defenders when a teammate was wide open? It's funny when the macro numbers don't add up in the popular players' favor (Kobe was 6-16 head to head v LeBron teams) some run to ad hoc micro analysis to explain why Kobe didn't dominate LeBron.

      @ian_ford@ian_ford4 ай бұрын
    • @@MusicMakesAdiff23 LeBron's 16-6 record vs Kobe stretched 2004-2016. All I hear from every corner of sports media was _"LeBron's title runs were overrated....he dominated the LEastern conference."_ If this was true, Kobe Laker's teams, regardless, shouldve made quick work of any LeBron-led team. Funny when Kobe doesn't have the 1 v 1 statistical upper hand, its no longer an individual sport, *it's about the team.* But when career ranking conversations come up, "team" flies out the window and it's just the 1 player.

      @ian_ford@ian_ford4 ай бұрын
  • Also shows how much easier is to get a good fg% in 2023. You rarely if ever read of a 5/20 FG game by James these days despite being far from his physical prime. It's so much easier to get to the rim now. The 2000s were the last decade of balanced basketball with both offense and defense being played/allowed.

    • Kober was, without a doubt, the best player in 2006. He got robbed of the MVP.

    • Eh debatable. Kobe better on defense though

    • @@JVO343 no he wasn't because LeBron outplayed him that year and pretty much every other year after that point. The advanced stats prove this as there wasn't a single advanced stat Kobe won in since 2006 and the 5 major categories always went majority to LeBron every one of those years

    • @@dannyhernandez265 not stay wise LeBron won in steals, blocks, DWS, DBPM, DNETRTG and more defensive stats only reason Kobe won all those defensive teams was the lack of guard defense

  • Kobe was the better player but injuries and bad teams in the mid-2000s combined with awful teams in the 2010s and more injuries plus LeBron’s first superteam helped shape a winning record for LeBron. Kobe really needed to rest more to prevent injury 😪😪😪

  • In my opinion, the best thing that ever happened to LeBron outside of genetics was the 2008 Olympics with Kobe. I think that LeBron’s trajectory before that was to finish as a top 10-15 player who had potential to push Mike but later on down he would regress and and the conversation never got close. But LeBron being competitive saw Kobe, who was leagues, miles ahead of everyone in workouts and practice, knew what he had to do. He’d have to work harder, care about his body more, and put in the work 24/7. I believe he willingly played second fiddle in those Olympics but worked hard enough to be able to be called the guy, and I think he took this into the rest of his career. It’s a testament to his mental toughness that he is still so motivated, no one doubts his work ethic on and off the court. And in my opinion he’s number 1 or number 2 all time. But I am not sure he would have been that way if it wasn’t staring him in the face that Kobe worked out and practiced harder than anyone else. Kobe was always going to be MJ lite, but LeBron is a different beast and as the oldest player in the league with the stats he has, the conversation is there and it exists. So thank you Kobe for a legacy that lives on in more ways than what’s immediately apparent.

    • Lmao, a lot of conjecture here. It’s already been established that it was Pat Riley’s training regiment that helped instill the physical discipline that he has perfected throughout his career. By the time Lebron played with Kobe in the Olympics, he had already been to a finals, and won a shooting title. There was actually not much separating Kobe and Lebron at this point, considering most of the former’s success came through Shaq and Phil.

  • Kobe the better skilled player and Lebron a better overall player...in other words Lebron would be the best teammate to have and Kobe would be the worst opponent to go against...2 different play style both great
