The commentators were great here; acknowledging the potential threats he could face as a young super star was especially insightful. 20 years later, he has stayed far away from all these troubles, and consistently stayed a great athlete. Consistently stayed a champion. Also, this video proves that a supportive family member helps you go a long, long way. Watching his mom cheering and jumping up and down just made my eyes watery. Incredible footage. What a role model. I hope all the best for LeBron James and his family.

  • As a lifelong Clevelander I remember how hyped he was at SVSM and being worried he would never live up to the hype. Not only has he lived up to it, he actually exceeded the over-the-top hype he got back then!! If only he'd have won more NBA championships, instead of being 4-6 in NBA Finals at least be 5-5 or 6-4, I don't think anyone would argue he's the greatest to ever play the game. But because of his 4-6 championship record, Jordan will always have that 6-0 over him which will give enough for people to argue for eternity who is better.

He was already taking huge sums of money from boosters and had agents and PR people all over him.. They got on this kid at a super young age, so it made him mature and know how to handle the media and stardom really young. Its rare to have someone as highly touted as Lebron at his age.. Mikey Williams may be a similar example today, but Mikey Williams def isnt as good as Lebron was. At least not yet.
