I bought Marucs Rashford's Mansory Rolls Royce Wraith from auction after he crashed it leaving Manchester United's training ground. The damage was so bad that ive had to buy an older model rolls royce wraith to use as a parts car to repair it. But today i finally get the car rolling and drive it for the first time since the accident.

  • It’s great to follow this journey and whilst I understand the reasons for buying a donor car for parts, it feels wrong to fit engine mounts and rads that are 9 years and 50k miles old to essentially a brand new car that has done 1,000 miles. Essentially those parts will fail sooner than the car’s mileage would suggest 😬

Then if still no pressure attempt to get ABS to active on a lift or just a slow test drive then bleed again using same procedure. I know it makes no sense but all our Audi's cars are actually closest to farthest, guessing BMW is the same🤷

  • MAT!! In the future, you can bleed the abs block manually without a scantool. if the lines that exit the block and run to each wheel are accessible, you can crack the fittings loose and use the fitting on the abs block itself as a bleeder. just be sure there is alwasy positive pressure in the brake system, as with Mr Push. we use very similar tools in dealerships, theyre just bigger and have more attachments. As long as it has a traditional abs block like this Rolls, you can apply this method to any car. no scanners needed! =)

  • You need 30psi on a pressure bleeder AND someone pumping the brake, hold down, open fluid nip, close, release pedal. Also you need a hose connected to each nip. Preferably a hose connected to a bottle, air tight. So you dont reintroduce air into the caliper when closing. Make sure you clean the calipers asap, as you'll ruin their finish with brake fluid. I had the same issue, even cycling the ABS pump with a self test didnt really help. Third try, I did the above and it got alot of air out.

Rolls Royce/BMW Active Suspension, you will need to have the suspension reinitialised bleed by a retailer for optimum performance, it will relearn the ride height, 100% bleed the ACTIVE anti roll bars (good fun, it makes the car dance, bit like low riders). The Active roll bars keep the vehicle level through bends at speed, hence their beefiness. Love the Chanel, keep up the great work

  • I don’t usually comment on videos but I have to give you props for actually showing what’s wrong with the parts like the coolant tube being damaged and showing the differences between the caliper sizes and actually putting them side by side. Genuinely enjoy these it feels like I’m also part of the restoration! Now I’ve realised what you’ve said actually made sense, RR are selling a facelifted model for 60-70% more with the same subframe and brackets and that made me think how it’s possible for some shops to offer conversion kits. For example BMW F10 is able to convert to a G30 just by replacing the bumper and headlights without any frame modifications. Looking forward to the next video!

  • Some ABS systems need to run to bleed through. The special programs sometimes are just instructions to run the pump for a while. So if you can trigger the ABS system to activate, that will trigger the ABS pump to run and pump fluid through itself and so it might self bleed. Could try a hard brake on loose gravel to get it to skid, activate ABS system, and so activate the pump. Getting it to wheel spin on loose gravel may kick in the ABS too. I’ve done this on Range Rovers using the hill descent control which in part uses the abs system to control wheel speed … and so activates the pump.

  • Brake bleed on these is back right, front left inner, front left outer, back left, front right outer and inner. Also the actual procedure starts with flushing the whole reservoir until min through the back right calliper, then refilling and bleeding the back right again until no bubbles. Then go to each calliper as stated first. When doing brakes as well, normally you push brake pedal once pads are done. On these after one axle is replaced operate the handbrake without touching brake pedal. Then operate brake pedal. Same with rear axle at a time or you can lose your pedal. 👍 Ps. The brake pedal will never feel like a normal brake pedal as it’s electronically controlled by your input to calculate pressure required to each calliper. It won’t essentially gain brake pedal pressure as it’s not servo fed. Without the actuation by ISTA or a diagnostic device you will struggle either how as the computer needs to open a set of solenoids within the brake system but hopefully you’ll get there after a good few goes 🤞

  • Great progress Mat. Have you tried reverse filling the brake system from the calliper bleed nipples? You would need to do that in two places for each half of the braking system. But I'd bet you could push any air out of the ABS pumps that way back to the reservoir.

  • I had the same problem when I replaced the front to rear brake lines on my X5. Air was trapped in the ABS pump and my cheap scanner wouldn't work. I ended up driving it in a field and then slamming on the brakes activating the pump. Bleed and repeated several times and it worked!! I wouldn't necessarily recommend you do this in a brand new second-hand Rolls Royce though Haha.

    • It's because he's from "Less-Tar". Many people from Less-Tar also omit the word "to". So, for example, they will say "I'm going bed". Another Less-Tar trait is to drop the 'h' from words that begin with 'h'. Thus they pronounce 'hospital' as "ospital".

  • I wish I had the knowledge and team that you have. I lost my Job in January and since then, my 2007 mazda 3 is starting to fall apart. It's a 2.0L 5spd manual. I lost 3rd gear in January so I was shifting from 2nd to 4th which wasn't a big deal. But now I lost 2nd gear last week. It makes it so hard to drive. I have to practically redline first gear just so when I switch to 4th gear it's around 2,000rpm. And I live In Pennsylvania we're there are alot of winding roads and I can downshift. Since I purchased the car in August 2022, I have put 3 engines(the 2nd engine was under warranty), I put a 23,000 mile transmission in it last year and it's already broken, and the warranty from the transmission shop expired. Plus I need all new rotors and pads, a drivers side rear caliper and I need a new hand brake cable fitted(i already have it). I already put over $10,000 into the car in the last 2 years and I just want a newer car. But since I'm not working I'm screwed. And once I find a new job, the car is not reliable enough to taken to work everyday. I wish I was able to do what you do.

Unless the part number is identical you’re safer to replace all the spring so the ride frequency is correct left to right and front to rear! This car will probably have a unique damper tune as well to match so swap those as well so you at least have a full car matching set!
