Bushbuck Tries Defending Itself From Wild Dogs
This is the dramatic moment a bushbuck puts forward all it can to literally fight for its life!
BOOK YOUR TRIP TO KRUGER: bit.ly/BookatKruger
This heart-wrenching sighting was captured by Jacques Proust, while on a photographic safari at MalaMala Game Reserve, located within the Sabi Sands, Greater Kruger Park.

Jacques tells LatestSightings.com the story:
“I was conducting a photographic safari, and, on this particular drive, we were looking for small things to photograph when we approached this small waterhole in the central part of the reserve. We found a Hooded Vulture perched on a dead Knob-Thorn Tree, and decided we would try and photograph it.”
“I switched off the vehicle and we sat waiting for it to fly. With cameras at the ready, and the vulture testing our patience - I noticed an animal standing not more than 40 meters away in a small tributary that feeds into the Sand River.”
“To my absolute amazement, it was a wild dog! I couldn’t believe our luck. We put down our cameras and I started up the car and approached the animal. As I slowly approached, I noticed that it was quite inquisitive. We looked in the thickets and noticed a male bushbuck standing there. I knew this would be a tough antelope to bring down for one wild dog.”
“Suddenly, out of nowhere, a second and then a third wild dog approached.”
“A peaceful wait for the vulture to fly turned into a fierce battle between the wild dogs and a brave bushbuck.”
“The bushbuck put up quite the fight but it was inevitably consumed by the wild dogs. It was an incredible sighting. The tactics displayed by the wild dogs were amazing to watch, as well as the fight in the male bushbuck.”

@@user-fp1vy6vy9w I'm curious as to why you post that exact same comment on every video
This is the fucking moment where I want to have a machine gun... But this is the wildlife law...
I have watched quite a lot of Wild Dogs videos and movies, and even now I get impressed on how fast they are to tear apart their prey. Just a few bites are enough to rip the back of the prey.
Yes you are right, they can inflict massive damage very quickly, even though they are not as big as lions. It seems they bite and literally rip off flesh with every bite. The main aim it seems is to get as much meat into their stomach as quickly as possible. Unreal.
Have you seen the video where the dogs rip a wild hare in half? Absolutely savage.
@Daniel Deering Relatively fast compared to most things that will eat you alive, yes.
Will feel like an eternity for the victim, though.
They target the backside, softer part of prey which is easier to rip off..
Those wild dogs were a pain in the ass.
Eat or strive , gotta survive
This comment will be famous one day
They have the Highest Success Rate among Predators in the Wild ..70%.. That's higher than any Big Cat..
@@vijayaprabu6669 - spotted hyenas are amazing predators too! they catch 80+% of their own food too...lions actually steal from the dogs and hyenas far more often, they just use their superior size/aggression to drive the other hunters away! This was probably worse for the buck with only 3 dogs. Usually there’s way more dogs and and it would’ve ended much quicker.
True
😡😡😡
This was set up. Its never just 3 dogs
Who cares?
I wonder if you would feel pain being eaten alive like that, perhaps the body turns the sensation off after such an overload?
That one Wild Dog got a krazy grip, was not letting it go, wasn’t scared , eat or starve
both prey and predator fighting for their lives
Their bite force, proportionally, is monstrous.
Animals suck
That was very tough to watch but incredible footage nonetheless. Wild dogs are formidable predators. Bushbuck not an easy target, highly alert and elusive. This one fought bravely till the last breath. Kruger at its finest!
Omg big cat's are actually angels it's awfull!
Big cats do kill for fun though, dogs at least eat everything they catch and not just their favorites.
*there are lots of videos of lions eating their prey alive too... these carnivores have to eat quickly before their catch is stolen from them
Lions kills for fun Ask farmers. Lions kills 20 cows in one night and only eat 2 cows and leave. Lions killed 18 cows for fun. That is why farmers in Africa are angry
@@reubencaldwell8494 both dogs and cats kill for fun. It’s just like when foxes kill a lot of chickens in a henhouse but only eat a few of em it’s because they get into a killing frenzy and feeding isn’t really the urge that drives em at that point.

It’s been a long journey on finding this channel. I looked up lion king because I was feeling it and for the past few days, I’ve been watching about bunch of stuff about lion stuff like the kings of sabi sands on National Geographic and then I found this channel and now I can’t stop watching videos. It’s been a long ride but man am I happy I found this channel.
When that back leg flopped backwards, took it to a whole new level.
It's impressive the teamwork these dogs show, even when they took down the bushbuck -- at least one of them was always keeping watch over the kill
Thanks all of you for original sound and original video 🙏🙏🙏
damn. Nature is both beautiful and gruesome. Being ripped and eaten while you are still alive , watching parts of you get chewed up and swallowed . wow.
Nature isn’t beautiful at all
As an expert, I can tell you that the Bushbuck probably died after that. Don't thank me.
Are you sure because 21st-century veterinary medicine can bring animals back from the brink of death?
Well even if it ran away after it most likely wouldn't be able to regrow the organs
That one dog pull the spaghetti noodle out the ass of the bushbuck👉Ha-Ha! Nelson voice😂
That noodle is called an intestine. Just need some hot sauce to give it some flavour.
As soon as a wild dog gets the first bite of a prey's rear, it's over (but slowly and painfully).
Wild dogs never meant to kill, they just wanted a piece of meat... That's wild.
Yep kinda like how we humans used/still do but now we can just go walk at the grocery store.
@@lovelylipbonesouwwwwwwwolv2198 the animal you buy at the grocery store got its throat shit and bled to death or had its head and brains smashed in by a human, then they deliver it to your grocery for you to purchase, not much different from this
@@zx208 yeah except it was tortured until adult hood
@@zx208 I'd honestly prefer bleeding to death from a throat slash than having teeth sink into my flesh and being torn apart by a pack of wild dogs
How did he not scream in pain? Wow he was a real fighter. Those horns were ready to impale but sadly he stumbled over.
What a fight it put up goes to show that they are determined
Amazing as usual great sharing
Wow, that was intense. It’s easy to feel sad for the little Buck but the bigger picture is that they (Wild Dogs) have to sustain themselves and no doubt feed their rising community of boisterous pups. It is often bittersweet but such is the animal kingdom, they are essentially governed to rise and fall by their instinct, not our human morals or compassion. This is pretty much their solution to fast food.
Humans do all of this and more, our morals can be disgraceful... we just don't get to hear the gory bits, people torture each other all the time, hardly ever for food either... from Vlad the Impaler to horrific sexual sadistic serial killers, horror goes on around us
@@NannupTiger humans have murderhouse for cows, pigs, chickens etc. Humans kill animals for fun. But wild animals are problem, right? Because humans don't do this right?
Humans have a choice, what to do, where to go. The animals don't. They just follow instinct and hunt, with zero malice towards the prey. If you don't have a choice, you can't be held responsible, even for something gruesome - so the animals are innocent, by our morals, no matter how many they kill.
Its true that they have to sustain themselves, but at least kill her first and then eat. I don't like hyenas and wild dogs.
Beautiful video👍🏼
Whoever said "humans should be more like animals".... never watched a Wild Dog video!
This is "pain in the ass" 😭

Been a while since you guys came out with another brutal death by wild dog vids... always the craziest to watch
Brutal....
It's hard to watch this video, but it's a cruel life that will never be shown to us.
Love you all
Those dogs give a whole new meaning to "Groceries"
Heartbreaking footage indeed
The bushbuck is me trying to find a way to save money and the dogs are the bills, car payment, and other expenses
That's the problem: you are trying to “save money.” You don’t save money; you invest money. Savers are losers.
Nature is beautiful
At least it tried. These dogs are formidable
prey always has this "man this some bs" look once they get too tired to fight.
They always go for the guts first omg this is so brutal
they usually go for the belly and the anus area because those are the softest and weakest area.
If they were smart they should drag it in the grass and eat it before a big cat sees the kill.
@@johnsolberg5611 They can smell too, not a big problem
That's because they attack the soft underbelly.
Buck just said a screw it I’m dead.
I just love wild dogs, incredible adaptive and intelligent little buggers
I love how the title says "tries" defending.
if he just protected his ass in the bush and offered the horns to every dog that came without moving away from the base place, they would give up, but naturally, he gets angry and nervous and ends up going on the attack.
Yeah...but these wild dogs are very tenacious and work as team...they take turns to attack the prey and make it weak and vulnerable..so unless it runs away in jiffy...its generally game over...nevertheless nice observation.
@@sanju9770 yes, if a greater number of dogs arrived, he would have no chance. but if there were only three, he could rest until he ran again. Waterbucks usually do this and succeed, but they are bigger and rarely will an animal understand such a strategy.
Awesome.
Feel sad for the bushbuck but gotta admire its fight to the very end despite it’s size. It was probably an adolescent. You can actually see it go unconscious and die around 4:05. Wild dogs have got to be the worst killers in the animal kingdom!
Wow amazing 👍❤️
When I think I have become inured to life's cruelties, I see something like this when I'm drunk, and cry.
Hope everything’s alright Bruce

One bad movement and ur getting guted. How strong are those animals. 1-2 sharp bites and ur guts are falling down.
Good question They are really strong if they can do this They break skin so easy

Hi! How are you? Tomorrow is already this Friday. Time really flies, as always. I hope the rest of the week will be healthy/pleasant. ^O^
Wow! I give that bushbuck tons of credit, he took being eaten alive like a champ, he didn't make a sound! Literally every type of antelope would've been screaming at some point.
Not really. You can watch antelopes and impalas getting eaten alive by wild dogs, hyenas, lions etc. without making a sound (after one point). I believe the excruciating levels of pain deprive them of making any kind of sound.
You must not watch many of these videos. The animals usually don’t make much noise.
Comparing this video in life situations; As an individual, you should be able to come out and defend yourself in every situation you find yourself in. 💪
😭😭🤯😥👈🦁🐯
Is the bushbuck ok?
very incredible fight of dog and deer
High quality video, no silly over dubbed dramatic music, video and sounds of nature in its most brutal moments 👍👍. 🦌🐕
At 1:44 you can see one of the wild dogs stop biting on the prey and to lookout for any predators and a couple of seconds later the one on the right did the same thing and they keep doing this while they are eating. The dogs know that this is the wild and that predators such as lions or hyenas could be on the way, fascinating.
@hollow point bulet yep and that too.
eesh. the spotter said it. dogs are not like the cats. the cats will suffocate it. dogs disembowel and dig in. seems to take forever before the antelope go into shock. edit: happened across a 2008 vid of lions killing hippos. the hippos are too big for the lions to suffocate (at least the adult one is), so the lions eat alive. it's mostly about jaw vs. prey size and, of course, dogs and cheetahs have to "wolf" down their food ASAP before the larger predators can push them off the kill. here's the lion vs. hippos vid: kzhead.info/sun/qrdqorltinOpno0/bejne.html

The horrible part is that they eat it whilst it still is alive. I feel bad for him. But such is life for them, I guess.
The Dogs literally don’t have a choice. They could be attacked by Hyenas or Lions at any minute. Get over it.
I know it's sad but that's nature y'know if you're angry just watch the last kruger video, you'll feel better.
@@GabGotti3 Lol, I know. It’s not like I’m legitimately sad that it got eaten alive. I meant that it must feel horrible to get eaten alive, but understandable because it’s nature Get over yourself man
I cannot decide which would be worse... being burned alive or eaten alive by wild dogs. That has GOT to be one of the most painful ways to die. And I have seen prey survive for several minutes even when an entire pack is eating on it. One thing is FOR SURE... if I ever have to choose between a hungry pack of wild dogs and a hungry pride of lions, I will choose the lions.
Who those guys are capturing this videos happily. I pray to God In next generation these guys should born impala and wild dogs should them alive 😊😊😊😊

Because there are horns and teeth in the front and they don't want to be injured by them. This is how they always hunt and this is in no way the most gruesome wild dog video here.
