    • Japan? Look what Honda just did. It’s bc they are studying and experimenting before going all out. They still need to plan and get cells batteries mining etc. you don’t really know how this works but it takes a plan as well as construction a whole factory with robots/machines. Lots of engineering involved. Japan isn’t far behind they are just not rushing it like gm and ford are. I also think hydrogen is the future not ev. They have the money to do so. After no ev mining is left next is hydrogen. Ev is too ahead and it’s invested heavily compared to hydrogen. Also hybrids make more money than all the ev’s they sell.

    • Actually that innovation came from an American company name canoo. Kia hired their engineering team but the new CEO pulled canoo from the project to protect their IP and to focus the company on providing fleet vehicles to companies​@@user-dv5if1hm2w

    • The japanese might be innovative in the tech sector, but their automative industry is fairly conservative and that's because they don't like taking big risks and prioritize reliability. They will get there by 2035

  • This Kia EV is likely to be useful in various transportation like post offices, small packages, and delivery. I'm sure it'll be sold out as soon as it's released.

    • Exactly. This looks exactly like what Toyota, Honda showed when I was a young kid at car shows. I was so amazed at all their "concept" cars. Ask me how many came to fruition? ZERO

    • While true for now, this trailer clearly shows a future 3-5 years from now, where their cars (and these robot arms) not only exist, but are normal and ubiquitous. Quite possibly OSHA standards might change by then too.

  • Though this is innovative, it ignores the bigger problem of the lack of mass transportation for the public in the United States. There is so much hype around electric cars and self-driving cars, because the public sector has failed to provide reliable public transportation.

  • It’s been years since we see the first cars that can move 90 degree and yet we never see it hit the market. I wonder why. My guess is that the way the wheel turn required special shaft that isn’t quite as reliable as conventional car.

  • Do not buy a Korean car. The people are overworked and the dealerships not only rip you off, but have no idea how to repair them. Stick to a Toyota and if you need the efficiency, they have the most experience with hybrids. Call around and find a dealership which does not mark up their cars. Not all Toyota dealerships are the same, most will scam you.

    • @@Botsy-Collins Honda is good. Only issue with them is the paint goes after some years. I learned that Toyota puts a thicker coat, that’s why you see them still shiny after a decade.
