Join Miss GoElectric @CES 2024 as she explores the @kia PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) display. She'll discuss the finer points of the upcoming lineup, implications for commercial and lifestyle users, and the timeframe.
We understand the audio quality of this video is below what you expect from our brand and we apologize. This was captured on a cell phone, which is new to us. Producer Tim overlooked some importantly settings to integrate the wireless microphone. We have done our best to salvage this clip using AI because we think Kia PBV is, perhaps, the most interesting and comprehensive product announcement from any automaker at CES this year.
Thanks for watching!

  • such a cool van! I will definitely buy something like this when it's available.

  • It took me a few hours 2 days ago, of searching and watching different Kia posts on the PBVs. To find the information that you have, in this less than 10 minute post. So thank you for such an efficient and effective post on a fascinating subject. The only thing that I would add is that it Kia stated in their posts that it will be sold to commercial fleet buyers, not the general public. At least that's Kia's current plans. And the Kia Worldwide channel has additional posts on this subject matter.

  • the pv1 also have the perfect size and form/shape for a one or two person tandem car with down folding back seat to be honest im looking at the pv5 at the moment but if they can make the pv1 like that ( with the seat and stearing like the pv5 and be pretty quick in the 100-150 kmt / 60-90mph ( so you can easily. quickly and safely pass someone on the highway ) i think they will have a surpriceinglt good winner on there hand

  • Really cool stuff! Do you think they'll ever put a micro factory into UAW stronghold location like Detroit?

    @IcRedeye@IcRedeye4 ай бұрын
    • Thank you for watching and commenting. We suspect regional micro factory locations will be located at the nexus of hundreds of favorable attributes including demand, shipping options, labor costs and ability, real estate costs, and more. EV van startups like Canoo and Arrival planned a similar production arrangement. We have a high degree of confidence that Kia (Hyundai Group) will achieve greater success. Their track record with EVs has been exceptional over the last five years. -Producer Tim

    • @nc3826 Startups attempting to remain solvent through the processes of design, manufacturing, sales, and service of a new vehicle usually fail. As one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers, Kia (Hyundai Group) is very well positioned for success. -Producer Tim

  • Quite the imaginative, futuristic concepts, Laycee! Fun to contemplate; dunno if I'll ever seen them in use in my lifetime. BTW, did you take the Boring Loop to get to the Convention Center? If so, curious to know your impressions of it.

    @Yanquetino@Yanquetino4 ай бұрын
    • These will be in production and on the streets within two years. These are production intent designs and we hope you are still around in 2026 to see them in action. We have ridden Teslas in the Boring Co loop. There was little fanfare about the experience because a human did the driving. Tunnel characteristics were similar to long-established pedestrian and bicycle tunnels we've seen in cities like Winnipeg. That said, we are fans of utilizing vertical space and reducing congestion in a safe and cost effective fashion. -Producer Tim

    • The rear half of the vehicle being *hot swappable* by the fleet manager, every component being moveable at any time by the operator including speakers, lighting, and even the steering wheel is much more flexible than Canoo's offering. Canoo has not promoted a fully autonomous taxi or a nimble nanoVan with 180 degree turning and no steering wheel. We think the interior modules which can become tables and retail displays is also a cut beyond Canoo's depth of product.

    • @@MissGoElectric Producer Tim, I appreciate the reply but you've got the data. Check your views on KZhead for CES content. I'm glad CES is involving more KZheadrs these days, it used to be exclusive to mainstream media such as CNET. But truth is, from here on the ground, the general public is not interested. A lot of false promises, vaporware, and blatant misuse of government funds. I've seen companies at CES that got government grants with products they are not enthusiastic about. Vaperware that's unable to compete in a free market. Then automakers like the ones you've mentioned make concept cars with no intention of release. Fool me once. You mentioned Honda, where is this Hydrogen car, the Honda Clarity? They've been teasing it since the 90s. The fact that they didn't make Hydrogen mainstream by building out the network is a clear failure. Tesla is the only company that created a nationwide network which is now subject to sabotage instead of the market competing is disappointing. I know you won't understand what I'm saying. You have no incentive to because of your partnerships but there is little to no innovation at CES. Main Street doesn't care. It's not on the news or local news. It's not trending on X. The views are not there on KZhead. I know what I see. Your built in audience is supporting you but the general public does not care.

    • We have no partnership with CES or Kia. We see that Kia (Hyundai Group) consistently delivers on their promises. They are leading the legacy automakers in the production of excellent EVs at affordable prices in spite of being on the wrong side of US government subsidies.
