      @KNByam@KNByam2 жыл бұрын
    • In the next CBA, the owners need to be able to sue players who refuse to play. The contracts are so one-sided towards the players' side to the point that they are allowed to do breach of contract. The fact that Ben Simmons is asking more money from Philly is laughable. He should be paying Philly back for breaching his contract.

In spite of his injury Willis limped unto the floor for warmups jumped center with WILT & even hit a couple shots before going to the bench the rest of the game. The Knicks went on to win the chip. • Having had back spasms a couple times in my life, I know how bad a minor back injury can impact you. HOWEVER, the panel is correct - you have to try. Sometimes I wonder if NBA players could do a regular job - the 2nd time I got back spasms and couldn't even walk to my car and drive to work, my work told me I wouldn't be paid if I didn't show up, as they didn't have to let me use sick leave in this state until I had worked there 90 days (I had worked there 88 days). So I put a hot pack on my back, took some ibuprofen, waited an hour to get the back functional and still made it in to work. I guess when you get paid million$ to not show up, there isn't so much motivation..... BUT the TEAM aspect that was brought up was even bigger. And I get it for sports and life. Once was in London for work and had to move an office a specific weekend. But I got severe food poisoning. It didn't matter - I took meds, drank a lot of water, got the job done and then collapsed in the hotel room for 2 days. You do what needs to be done.

    @ws8080@ws80802 жыл бұрын
    • What you said is factual. I work in construction, I have back & hip issues from the nerves to the tendons & to top it off I'm paid by peacework. I have to complete jobs to get paid otherwise I don't get paid at all. Imagine if NBA players got paid their contracts the same way. Set rate for your value skill wise and then if you show up and play your 25 mins minimum you collect your pay if not your pay goes directly towards your rehab cost.

  • Chuck’s exactly right. Bro, Ben didn’t have to come back and play 35 minutes and be a defensive stopper immediately. The difference in you playing and not playing, is not 3 days. The LEAST you can do is go out there and try FOR YOUR TEAMMATES. If you go out there and your back tightens up, or you’re not ready, that’s fine but at least you tried. • Ben Simmons is making some of the most head scratching decisions I've ever seen from an NBA player. It's like he either has zero self awareness or simply does not care one tiny bit what other people think about him, whether it's fans, coaches, owners or his teammates. Surely he knew exactly what he had done to his reputation leading up to the Brooklyn trade, he had become one of the most despised players since LeBron after The Decision. Most rational thinking people would say 'well, I have to do something to win back those fans' but Simmons has done the complete opposite. Brooklyn fans were very supporting and even defensive of any criticism of him leading up to this announcement but now it seems they have all done a complete 180 and are now bagging him as much as Philly fans have bagged him the last six months. He successfully alienated one fanbase by refusing to play, got traded to a new team in a new city and has now alienated that fanbase in the space of ten weeks. He is either the dumbest player in the history of the league or the most arrogant, there is no inbetween. The guy's career is close to finished after this.

Most people play sports because they’re passionate about it and they want to be the best. The money is just a plus. Ben Simmons should be ashamed of himself for wasting peoples time and money. They should take back every dime they invested in him. He shouldn’t even be playing in the NBA.🤦🏽‍♀️ They need to send him to the G league. He can get his money there.
