  • That’s a nice funnel with the measuring marks on it! It’s nice feeling when you do it yourself and know the right amount is put back in! You’re lucky there is a dipstick on it. Many brands these days don’t have one which makes it harder to do.

  • Nice video, where can I buy the type funnel you are using. Also I just bought a 2013 Outlander, what type OEM CVT fluid does it take? Is the J4 fluid the latest and best? thank you in advance

    • They sell them at autozone and your fluid show state in the back of your owner's manual under specification

  • Next time you do the transmission oil change, it is very important that you change the two filters.

  • is your Outlander sport is CVT fluid? how your car performed? does your car works in that STP OEM oil? I think it should be branded oil from Mitsubishi that should be used...

    • The best cvt fluid for any cvt is Amsoil cvt fluid. Nothing else comes close and it doesn’t void the warranty.

    • @@billybob9154 CVT fluid stays cool because there is a CVT fluid cooler underneath the battery tray on Mitsubishis... if a fluid meets mitsubishis J1 or J4 spec then it's good.

    • @@drivewayhero You can get amsoil data sheets on all their products. Not one other manufacture will do this. Why ? Because amsoil is the best.

    • @@jasaulyeldell_jsqualley3125 right under the air box bolted to the engine. It’s two or three bolts. Remove them and pull off a rounded cover. Inside on the block is the filter. Remember to replace the O ring on the block and make sure the new filter has its O ring. The second filter is in the pan. It’s just a screen mesh inside the filter you can usually just clean it with brake fluid and let it air dry and reuse. If you drop the pan you need a new gasket pan. P.S. Amsoil makes the best CVT fluid hands down. Last longer higher flash point and it improves MPG.

    • I am curious if this service has never been done on a Mitsubishi with over 100k on the transmission is it a must to replace that filter inside the pan. Ive been told just flushing the fluid will on a CVT trans mission with this many miles could have catastrophic failure, because all the metal shavings getting mixed into fresh fluid.
