That’s a nice funnel with the measuring marks on it! It’s nice feeling when you do it yourself and know the right amount is put back in! You’re lucky there is a dipstick on it. Many brands these days don’t have one which makes it harder to do.

@@jasaulyeldell_jsqualley3125 right under the air box bolted to the engine. It’s two or three bolts. Remove them and pull off a rounded cover. Inside on the block is the filter. Remember to replace the O ring on the block and make sure the new filter has its O ring. The second filter is in the pan. It’s just a screen mesh inside the filter you can usually just clean it with brake fluid and let it air dry and reuse. If you drop the pan you need a new gasket pan. P.S. Amsoil makes the best CVT fluid hands down. Last longer higher flash point and it improves MPG.

I am curious if this service has never been done on a Mitsubishi with over 100k on the transmission is it a must to replace that filter inside the pan. Ive been told just flushing the fluid will on a CVT trans mission with this many miles could have catastrophic failure, because all the metal shavings getting mixed into fresh fluid.
