    • Although, that you said that he being very artificial. I must respectively disagree, he is doing this making a more dark and richer sound in an contemporary opera way. He must darken his sustaining high notes to make a board richer rounded sound, which the writer of the music. I've seen the score of this music and the music itself is very dark, rich, and bold. As for his highest notes, these are C6-E6.

  • I understand what you feel Linor Oren, you are not alone. Opera is your life, and you are a "virtuosa". And of course its very hard to our self confidence, our ego, when a genius of this magnitude comes along ( never saw or heard of another one like Dimash in the past or present) and is so superior that shatters everybody else around, changing everything by himself. He is the eye of the hurricane. Its like a Leonardo, a Mozart, a Moliere, a Shakespeare, a Picasso or a Van Gogh, a Pavarotti. The only thing we can do is enjoy it and give thanks for being alive to see and ear it. Other masters of the "bel canto" already recognize it.

  • I was present in this concert where he sang this song Ogni Pietra in his homeland Kazakhstan. He sang in front of thousands of people including his parents grandparents. I can assure you that what you see here is the real deal. He was singing and not lip-syncing. I know that lip-syncing is not unlikely to happen, but this was real. Dimash is amazing and watching him live is indescribable. Later I also went to the concert that was in Dubai on Nov. 7 with Igor Krutoy and I was sitting in the second row. He sang this song and it was the real deal. So far I've watched him sing live twice and I can assure you he is singing.

Her embarrassment and wonder were genuine and authentic, this was charming. Her laughter and giggles elucidated her trying to understand the new way this person was able to sing and that of a man. Her recognition of and surprise in his limitless flexibility with quality defied her prior experiential knowledge. Beautiful to see her discover the gift of Dimash from an accomplished singing artist herself. Thank you LInor.

  • I got so obsessed with Dimash's voice that I started some digging to understand HOW. And the answer is very simple: It's a mixture of gift, or, the right voice for the job with A TON of hard work. He is a high tenor who started having singing classes at the age of 4 and STILL DOES. Dimash sings 3 hours per day EVERY SINGLE DAY since he was 4. His effort is WAY BIGGER than his gift. He is a true master, he set the bar 3 or 4 levels higher.

  • Dimash sings live unless tv show demands lip syncing. This is a concert, so no lip syncing. That’s the way he was trained. After training and learning for 21 years, I’m sure Dimash has some voice moves you probably never heard of. You’ve just joined a whole group of voice coaches and music teaches who have tried to put Dimash into a box. There isn’t a box out there that Dimash fits in. • but look at his chest, he barely takes in any breath between long parts and sometimes he doesn't at all, just continues thru three long notes. he didn't break any sweat on his face, nor did he breathe any faster after finishing. the song is identical to the studio recording, except for the echo added for the sake of this concert. look at his head turning away from the microphone at times 60 degrees. he also exaggerates the movement of his lips. his larynx and throat moves just a little because he pretends to sing and muscle memory kicks in. I was hoping for a live singing when I saw his ear pieces, but it looks too fake to believe.

      @vamonaa@vamonaa3 жыл бұрын
    • vamonaa All of that is training! Dimash has practiced 3 hours a day for many years. He was put into music school when he was 5 years old. He has perfect pitch. He was trained to sing live. He doesn’t show much strain because Dimash isn’t singing in falsetto, he is singing in his natural voice, there isn’t a strain when you can naturally reach those notes. Dimash is still in school. He has his masters degree and is now going for his doctorate. Most singers you see have good voices but they haven’t been to school for years studying. Dimash still has a voice coach. He admired Pavarotti because Pavoratti had a voice coach all of his life. Dimash will probably be the same way. That way he won’t loose his voice like a lot of singers, who are lip syncing because they have lost part of their voice. Dimash’s voice will continue to mature. He is a young man and some of those notes he hits now will probably come down a little bit but he still will be unique!

  • I am of the opinion that Dimash is never, ever, just out there winging it. From everything I have seen and read, he is a perfectionist when it comes to his singing and the arraignments. I believe that every note that comes out of his mouth is there by careful choice and consideration. Dimash has all the technical skill in the world, and can not be bound by genres. He has achieved a skill level unlike anything heard before....and he has the charisma and stage presence that is rarely seen. I am sure his lack of sticking to strict opera technique and style will irk some opera people....but Dimash has transcended any one style. Whether he is singing opera, pop, rock or ballads......they are distinctly, stylistically Dimash. He is the only person on the planet that you can guarantee that when he sings other people's songs, his version will be better than the original. The last artist I know of that could get away with singing any style or genre of music was Michael Jackson.....and Dimash is a much better singer than MJ ever dreamed of being.

    • I agree that he is a perfectionist with natural ability shaped by years of passionate and dedicated education and training. That’s why I agree with Linor when she says she would not be surprised that he got this song just right in the studio and then is lip syncing this performance with all his trademark charisma. That is consistent with a technical and artistic genius and perfectionist that we know Dimash to be.

    • @@darkprose There have been lots of people who initially think Dimash is not really singing live, due to how incredible he sounds. I could see there might be a time it would be done, if perhaps he were ill or something. He first sang this song at the European Olympic Opening. I watched a video of his practice earlier that day, and he was definitely singing live. Typically, people lip synch for one of two reasons....either they can't reproduce the original sound, or there is something going on, like extreme dancing, or technical difficulties. What Dimash does is easy for him, so reproduction of sound is not an issue. There are enough videos of any Dimash song to be proof positive that he is always singing live, and that there is no song in which he can not reproduce sound at the highest level.

  • I love how honestly lost you are for an explanation of his high voice. It is breathtaking. The delay of sound vs picture might be a result of having orchestra and Dimash placed very far apart, so that their only audio communication is through monitoring. If the sound is tapped from the orchestral side, Dimash will appear late. If the technicians try to tweak it, there might be an opposite result. But, sound and picture in KZhead tend also to do weird stuff due to the compression of the videos. Thank you for your reacting and sincere emotions!

  • Miss Linor, I went to this concert, Dimash is a prodigy, he doesn't lip Sinck ever.Dimash has his own style and he chooses this. I have been to see him in operas,he doesn't use all voices in opera He sticks with perfect 0pera. Dimash will be 26 years old in may. He has his masters degree in composing and lyrical writing. Dimash plays a piano, the drums, electric guitar, organ, the bass, the two string lute, and a couple other instruments,he sings in about six language, even more than that,he also speaks fluent Russian,Ukrainian,Kurdish, Chinese-Manderin,learning to speak English taking extra courses I want you to know that he is the most humble young man.He loves all people, and he is loved in every part of the world. When Dimash is going to do a concert,he has to literally get an arena and it is so packed. When he is doing a concert his mom & dad are there, So are his grandparents. He tells his dears all of us who love and respect him,yes he calls all of us dears,in his mother tongue, that is the best compliment he could give. It is of the highest esteem. At his concerts he always acknowledges his parents and grandparents, he tells the audience, his fans that he loves his mom, dad,Sister, and his brother who is about 14 years, he plays the two string lute with his brother on stage when he sings songs from his country.Dimash will at the end of his concerts he jumps into the audience to be with them.People of every age, color, race and creed big and small. Equal amount of men as woman. Dimash is a man of the belief that if he is with a woman, that is the one he is going to marry.Dimash was raised this way, and he believes that is the way it supposed to be.I want you to also know that Dimash has a Dolphin whistle-D-8.When he sings it isn't Drama to him,he truly feels what he sings, and it is planned.Dimash doesn't wing it,although he can if he wanted to.I wanted you to know that he doesn't believe in auto tuning for himself, nothing against people who choose that he believes everyone makes their own talent with what and how one chooses. If there has to be a recording at a place he is invited and not enough time,he will sing over his own voice,he refuses to lipsinc, it isn't natural for him that's how he feels, and he loves his dears so much that he gives all of himself.Miss Linor, you will grow to truly love him as a person as much as his music because of the love he holds in his heart and freely gives it to his fans always. Dimash is also loved by so many Famous people,There are many lead singers from 80's hair bands Many classical,Opera singers.I have seen so many famous people at his concerts.I wanted you to just close your eyes and just let Dimash pierce your soul. I don't want you to waste time by trying to figure out why he sings in that way.The bottom line, there is no specific genre that he can be cast as,and this is because he can sing every one of them,so he is his own There has never been a person that can sing as good as Dimash and there never will be,also it's not even just that, he is the entire humbled package. I have watched reaction after reaction especially with guys,he brings them to tears. Sincerely, Sister Lori-Ann

It's interesting... classically-oriented people reacting to Dimash understand up to a point and can analyze a lot, but it's rock vocalists/coaches who know exactly what he's doing and aren't even surprised by it! It's a broader range of 'acceptable' techniques and tone matching that limits the operatic approach. Fascinating.

  • It's fascinating to watch this lady's frustration with Dimash. I have seen videos of her analyzing singers and she is hardcore, to the point and seems to knows what she is talking about. However she is stumped by Dimash. Dimash is not what I would ordinarily listen to but from what I have seen and heard from all the vocal coaches reactions, he may possibly be the best singer the world has ever seen. I think that the reason he doesn't fit into any single mode of singing is because he is breaking all of the molds. In the same way Bruce Lee revolutionized the Martial Arts by not sticking to any one style, Dimash may be doing the same thing with his singing and could possibly set a new standard for what it takes to be the best of the best. Just my two cents.

    • @@darkprose I don't see it or hear it. It just sounds like he shifts the resonance further back, which does not require him to move his mouth. I'm not sure what you're looking for. It also fails to take into account he frustration with the microphone and the earbuds that he endures throughout the performance. If he's lip syncing, there really would be no reason for him to constantly adjust them, because there's nothing to be lost if they're slightly off. I'm not saying it's definitely not lip syncing, but I remain unconvinced.

  • There is a reportage about Dimash's career in which two very important kasakh people of opera world and Dimash's teachers, speak about his vocal abilities, one of them said: " falsetto means fake, that's the origin of the term and That's what most of singers do, Vitas for example, but Dimash's don't sing in falsetto. He is which we call a natural contralto, and that it's very uncommon in nature" when I heard this comment I felt confused. I still don't know if he was using the term contralto, in the same meaning we use for the female range, or was that a technical word in opera that means something else; but when you said you don't know what's happening Whit his insane vibrato in the top of his range, I remembered. Maybe that's the answer: Dimash is a natural Rarity!!! This fact joined to his vocal training is the reason of his almost impossible voice!! Please, tell me your view!!

  • This reaction made me laugh out loud several times. He really does transcend many of the "rules" of what a singer should be able to do. Imagine what he is still capable of, and imagine young singer watching this. How inspired they must be! His own legacy will be not just his genius but what he bequeaths to future musicians.

    • @@kayem3824 I think conventional opera usually can't be approached by most people heard on. It's both an intricate and over the top form of musical art. You usually have to approach it through another vehicle. Like hearing it in a movie soundtrack, or listening to someone like Dimash who is multi-talented. You fall in love with the musician's work. Then you get curious about other works, and soon you go down a rabbit hole. I'm taking a music history course (first since college many years ago), and I found myself having a greater appreciation of Opera's nuisance and development from it's small starts in the renaissance to it's full flowering in the Baroque. I'm glad vocal coaches of all stripes (and us ordinary folks) get to react and give input on people like Dimash. They give valuable technical and emotional insights.

    • @@yogajedi3337 Hello Lois, I am so amazed at the insults that some of you fingers fling at Other singers.Obviously you must be an opera singer,or know a lot about it,on the other hand you don't seen to know Dimash.I was in Italy last summer to see a very special Opera with Dimash and Bocelli .This was a full night of opera,Dimash sang the concert with Andre Bocelli for Two hours and fifteen minutes. Dimash sang the entire night in his full Baritone opera, classical voice. Please don't spread stories about things you know nothing about. I realized that I think why so many of you seem to do all that you can to find fault with someone who has been training since the age of five. Dimash was singing and playing the piano before the age of five, the age five just happens to be when he began taking professional lessons. I think there are many people out in the world who have beautiful talent,as Miss Linor does she sings beautiful. Dimash had a dream as a little boy to be famous like his idol Michael Jackson. I pray in my heart that all of you who have your own talents, listen too him ,and learn. Dimash is an athlete. This is why he can hold his breath for over 22 seconds.I have seen Dimash in many different parts of the world all four corners of our planet.I know as a fact that every concert he performs it sells out. Also there has never been one time seeing him doing Opera, these nights men and woman throw Roses of every color onto the stange for him. All his other concerts they buy roses and flowers by the dozen and many thousands of dozens. All of you just appreciate each other and the talents you behold. Each one of you have been gifted by God.I promise you this, you will never hear any unkind word about another from him or out of his mouth, this is not his character and I wish you would all act in this way. When you make a comment that he couldn't make it through a night with his full baritone, obviously you are speaking about something you know nothing about. If you went to see him,you would have known this.He is very LOVED by many pop singers opera singers, country singers,Rock singers. They attended his concerts also. People need to love and respect eachother and not be so jealous. It is absolutely jealousy, if it were not, nothing would be said. Sincerely, Sister Lori-Ann

  • Dimash is out of the boundaries of the different kinds / styles of singing . You can't put him in a little box, either in å big one. This is the reason he didn't become an opera singer. One has to open one's mind and heart for his universal genius and bow for The tremendous amount of entusiastic work he has put to bring sain (contrary of insain) joy to people.
