I know it's been months - better late than never!
Didn't think Dimash could still surprise me, but here you go.
I was so shocked by some stuff that came out of that mouth - I forgot to mention how strange it is there were no lyrics there at all... But the singing - we have a lot to learn from him. Check it out!
Check out my singing crash course (only $5) Learn from the Best (Dimash is shown there, too!)

I can't stand here here anymore The souls seem to be burning like a microwave If you like HELL you can stay here. But thank you, I am leaving It is a song coming from HELL and not from the heaven

I I'm 40, but she looks like she's 16 because she has the face of a baby and the mouth of a fish. And she is a cherry, a cupcake, a bombon. I say that the song Ave Maria seems to be a "song of the day of judgment" The "aaaahhhaaaa!" sound the burning of souls in Hell. If Dimash disguised himself as the Devil, I would applaud his success. And not long ago Dimash came playing the piano like a Vampire. And next time he will come as a werewolf howling like wolves? That would be great. 🤣😂👍

  • I think you're missing it. Consider Pavarotti during his very loud belting out and how his male approach in power on some notes has a wide pattern vibrato, typically a male thing, typically a power thing. We come to expect it then. Damish is applying this style/technique to typically female voice ranges and volume levels and instead of the corresponding tighter vibrato pattern, he is choosing the mix in the two. Normally you'd hear that wide vibrato in male power ranges, but he applied it in both soft and loud female levels typically not done by female singers. He tightened it in more tender moments because it fit the music better for his intent during his vocal delivery. In any case anyone would agree his abilities are astounding and he is breaking all norms, which makes his performances more entertaining and even shocking at times. Just my opinion, but it's the first thoughts my mind ran when he does this type of thing. He is truly a vocal groundbreaking trendsetter, already other males are attempting his performances and making them their own, but in my mind even though there is only ONE Dimash ❤🤗🙋

    • @@brendaguerin1409 well I don't know if it's wonderful and I suspected she wouldnt see it, but that's okay. Mostly as a recording musician for decades and musician for 60 years, I wanted to share my thoughts on his wonderful performance. Dimash doesn't do anything by chance, each delicate or powerful moment has been painstakingly planned and practiced into greatness. As you can tell though I am a huge fan of Linor and Dimash, it would be great to talk to either of them in person about music ❤

Now take for example Angelina Jordan, this girl has you on the very first note and has you begging for more and you are addicted to greatest vocalist that has ever lived. From 7 to 16 she does it with the most pleasant voice you will ever encounter.

  • Thank you for the reaction! 😊 Several things I learned from this performance through many vocal coaches : 1) when he starts the song, it is really hard to jump right into the falsetto with no shakiness at the beginning. 2) his long breath support is insanely good for many long phrases. He even opens mouth throughout the song. 3) The “ lean” when he transitions his voice is really good. 4) the D6 and F6 on top with big volume is so divine and he makes it look easy! 5)The” on set” at last note is so perfect , no air coming out, just like threading needle to a tiny hole, so precise ! On set on the high note with soft voice is very difficult to do for most opera singers because it requires an advance skill and training . Thin and soft but spinning spinning like threading needle to tiny hole!!!!! 6) he holds that last note for about 15 seconds with the messa de voce. Impressive!!! He has those solid of opera classical training. The guy is so good with many genres and solid skill set for each genres, he does many things from different kinds of music and cultures from many countries that many pro singers and coaches are not familiar most of the time. His knowledges and study of music are tremendous

  • Dimash is always the master of controlled vibrato. He can make it cry, laugh, sound like a bird, make it very weak and vulnerable as you saw at the beginning of this song... Always assume that however he is using it, it is intentional.

  • For me, the most amazing part of this performance was after his big high notes, he left his mouth open, hit a perfect note, crescendoed, the de-crescendoed back to the exact note at the same volume, then added vibrato at the end. Truly masterful on a level unseen before. Sometimes, it’s the little things that are the hardest. Especially when done in a single breath.

  • In this new world of Popera, traditional Opera aficionados feel confused by choices so far removed from traditional boundaries. Dimash chose this path to reach out to folks who have never been exposed to Opera. In composer Igor Krutoy, he found a like soul to create new sounds that have captured the world with renewed interest. All variations are intentional on the part of Dimash. So good to see you again, Linor.

  • Dimash is very intentional with his singing choices he usually decides how he's gonna get a note out and he definitely always plays in the vibrato area like it's sometimes slow sometimes fast like in Arabic and Eastern music and sometimes it's natural sometimes it comes out like this one ' intentional vibrato' he's very specific with his singing Technics we dears know that by now So I can definitely tell you that these choices are intentional and specific and as this is Ave Maria I can tell why he chose to do so at the beginning which is to make it sound not smooth but fragile and vulnerable ♥️♥️

  • Stranger will blow you away more than any of his songs...He goes full basement to a siren level F6...I have never heard any singer put so much power..weight and volume into a high note...He can easily rip off a G7 in a live performance and nail it everytime???...He has also hit E7..D8 in a live performance...Who else does that???...Most singers past and present can't even go there and even the ones than can most likely wouldn't bring it out in a live performance due to the high risk of failure...Dimash is next level..Best vocalist in the World..You don't need to be an expert to see it

  • It's a build, I feel. The form of the song is a continuous ramping up from an airy and wavering, almost distant and childlike tone to a full-on head voice belt... then it crashes back beautifully to its original innocence. I think the wavering is intentional for that overall shape. When you have no lyrics to sing, infuse personality into every possible corner of the performance.

I was raised a catholic w my mom as the choir director and we performed so many versions of Ave Maria so my expectations were pretty high. • @@linororen i think it opens with the first bar of Schuberts Ave Maria to set the mood. I think it makes it globally universal across all of our languages. I want to go back and see if the feel, shaky vs smooth, infers the lyrics in some sense. It feels like I once was vulnerable but now am strong and the last note is that of ascending grace. Maybe. But it all has hints of Gregorian chants but very new expansive and inclusive sound with drums. I’m reaching but i think thats the point of abstract vocalizing. That the listeners can feel comfortable with the beauty and see their own connection from their own country and language. However this is sorted out he and Igor are making important and deeply meaning music of unparalleled quality and execution again. This may be a result that internet distribution circumvents record company meddling demands of making what sells and completely missing the audience capacity to appreciate and support all these new voices creating such wonderful music. The next decade for Dimash, Diana, Angelina, etc will be very engaging and wonderful for us all. Thanks again for your words

What you say as falsetto is actually the head voice, using that voice in high-pitched voices just like a soprano. During hes classical education, he served as a soprano in the choir because there were not enough sopranos at the University in time. We are talking about an extraordinary person who started his musical education at the age of 5 and played 6 instruments, who received an award on the piano at the age of 6. Slowly the peace and tranquility enters his soul, the vibrato calms down. It's a struggle between what you were and what you can be. Dimash knows.

I have never heard anything more beautiful. This is a magical new classic masterpiece that people are sure to hear in 300 years. According to wiki there are 68 Ave Maria settings from 7 eras, now 69. I mean, this song is on the same high level as Schubert's Ave Maria or Vavilovs (Caccini) ... also beyond all spirituality, just wonderful music. Igor Krutoy (means in Eng. Igor Cool), *1954 in Ukrainian SSSR), singer and songwriter in Ukrainian and also music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is a world- famous composer who came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. • This was another delightful reaction and analysis. This is is the final of three songs Dimash premiered in August 2021 during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. Dimash's rendition of "Ave Maria" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to, and only Dimash's voice could evoke such a profound emotional response in me. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered, and no matter how many times I have already watched it, I am still moved to tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice. Dimash premiered "Ave Maria" in August 2021 during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano. This is a vocalise interpretation of Schubert's "Ave Maria " 's opening vocals." Igor Krutoy composed this rendition for Dimash; it is not a cover. I read somewhere that the piece uses only three bars from the original composition and changes the fourth note to a higher note. Someone explained that Dimash called Igor Krutoy with an idea for a brand new interpretation of Ave Maria and asked him to compose the music. Dimash is said to love Gregorian choral music, which is where he got the inspiration. Igor composed the music, after which Dimash conceived these exquisite vocals. Someone else likened it to "a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (dark to light)!" Another “Dear” fittingly described Dimash’s performances like this: "Every time I hear this beautiful man sing, it feels like he punches a hole in my chest and holds my heart in his hands, holding it so gently, until he finishes singing. Then releases it and removes his hand from my chest, and I'm left with an empty, aching feeling which can only be filled by listening to him sing again! It's a beautifully tortured relationship with Dimash." Correct me if I am mistaken, but I believe the last note Dimash sings is known as "Messa di Voce," the singing of a gradual crescendo and decrescendo on a long sustained note. It is considered one of the most challenging vocal exercises, and voice experts regard it as the ultimate test for any singer, a skill even the most experienced vocalists rarely ever master. There are at least 11 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier. Here is a list of different composers/compositions: Ave Maria - F. Schubert (1797-1828) Ave Maria - C. Gounod (1818-1893) Ave Maria - J. S. Bach (1685-1750) Ave Maria - G. Verdi (1813-1901) Ave Maria - E. Elgar (1857-1934) Ave Maria - P. Mascagni (1863-1945) Ave Maria - J. Brahms (1833-1897) Ave Maria - L. Cherubini (1760-1842) Ave Maria - V. Vavilov (1925-1973). See note below* Ave Maria - S. Lindley (1948- ) Ave Maria - N. Skipper (1951- ) *This is the famous composition of Ave Maria misattributed to G. Caccini (1551-1618). It was actually composed by Russian composer Vladimir Vavilov in the early 1970s. He was forced to attribute most of his music to someone other than himself because any religious composition at that time, especially one invoking the Virgin Mary, was criminal under the communist dictatorship governing the Soviet Union.

  • Schubert's is the one we have first in mind when we hear the "Ave Maria" words because of its extensive ceremonial and liturgical use, as well as Bach/Gounod's. This Hail Mary masterfully and wonderfully vocalized by Dimash is an original musical work by the great musician, composer and pianist of today Igor Krutoy, (also a very successful businessman, and wealthy show business entrepreneur). Although it bears some similarity to another (of the many Ave Marias that exist), the aria by the Russian composer Vladimir Vavilov (sometimes erroneously attributed to Giulio Caccini), it is neither a version, much less a plagiarism. Krutoy composed it at Dimash's request. It is a beautiful work dedicated to the mother of Jesus created by a Jew and sung by a Muslim. Something very significant and in my opinion one more proof that God has chosen Dimash as Messenger of Peace, although perhaps he does not know it himself.

  • Once upon a time there was a young man who was born with a vocal gift. He studied to build upon that basis. It got to the point where he gained absolute control of the sound production facilities within his body. When performing for an audience he frequently aimed to surprise them. Because his control was so absolute and his vocal palette was so extremely broad, this wasn’t hard to do. With each new song he was able to manipulate his enormous vocal potential in a manner that the audience was unfamiliar with and surprised by. He became as a magician, pulling new combinations of sound out of thin air. And they loved him for his exquisitely beautiful, unexpected, excellent, and incomparable surprises!!!

Dicas para as próximas reações: Stranger, Fly Way, Love is Like a Dream, Sinful Passion, Opera 2, Ogni Pietra, Across Endless Dimensions.

  • Im not sure I hear anything shakey at all..sounds like a stylistic choice to me for the simple reason that this song is already high and, although extremely difficult to sing, it's structurely quite uncomplicated so in order to make it climax there had to be a contrast between all the different textures he uses. When he sings adagio on the singer he uses a similar style on the vibrato on the softer notes. Will listen to both again though...first time iv heard someone say his intro was shakey..missed your Dimash reactions 😊 please react to stranger soon.

  • The beginning of the piece seems to be an imitation of the sounds from Outer Space that were recorded by NASA, establishing an otherworldly atmosphere. Dimash uses only vocalization to make this a prayer/meditation for all people, regardless of their spiritual orientation. Words often divide us, but music has the power to unite. The purity of Dimash's voice, the genius of Igor's composition, the choir, instrumentation, and staging all combine to transport the listener beyond this earthly existence into the heavenly worlds. The messa di voce on High C at the end is absolutely exquisite. Russian figure skater and gold medalist Anna Shcherbakova used Ave Maria for her performances. Dimash once said that the sport he feels is most closely related to music is figure skating. You can see Dimash reacting to her performance here: kzhead.info/sun/ZM-umN5pnnNmiWw/bejne.html

  • Hi Linor and thank you for your analysis! Since you understandably don't want to do too many reactions on the same artist, I would recommend checking "Stranger" from Dimash, rather than going through another SOS analysis. In "Stranger" he really showcases a couple more elements that might be new for you coming from Dimash, but in SOS I don't think there is something new technically speaking, other than some different artistic approach compared to his earlier versions.

Have you heard one of Dimash's latest songs - 2021 release I think - Ikanaide - a Japanese song he sings in Japanese! From the Japanese reactions, his pronunciation of the Japanese language in this song is virtually perfect and they are so surprised he sings it so well. Thank you for what you do. Love listening to your comments.
