Had something like that hapen to me in Vice City, got run over by cops and then shot while they played the voice clip, "Don't Move!" as "WASTED" appeared on the screen
@@Loebane I 100% call that murder, let’s not bear around the bush, there was no excuse for what happened, making them crawl on the ground with a gun pointed at them is NOT a proper method of subduing a theoretical threat, just lie down, hands on the back of your head and ankles crossed. That video is truly horrific to remember, they were sobbing in confusion and didn’t want to die. Worse yet if I remember was the cops had the wrong guy, he wasn’t actually guilty of anything. I think the cop also was revealed to have a pretty disturbing tattoo of a gun and a phrase that revealed he was sadistically trigger happy. Sadly I’ve seen a lot of similar videos, more commonly with tasers, so not always leading to death, but being tasered is utterly agonising. I remember one where one cop was telling a person not to move or they’ll taser them, they’ve already cuffed them and they’re sitting on the curb but the other cop is yelling at them to cross their legs, every time they go to do it the first cop threatens them for it. You can tell they’re really confused and WANT to obey. He gets tasered when he crosses his legs as the second cop had continued to YELL at him to do it. The cop was meant to have said cross your ANKLES, with your legs straight. Crossing your legs at the knees is bringing your feet too close to your body and shoes are often a hidden location for knives, hence why the first cop had his taser out. If the cop actually gave them the CORRECT instructions they’d never have needed to taser them. The second cop is equally as guilty for not correcting their partner and giving proper instructions. The fact that kind of miscommunication between cops and citizens goes on when it’s a gun too and not just a taser is absolutely horrific. With the quality of training cops are given the full blame falls onto these individual cops, they do know better however the system currently allows them to behave completely short of what they were trained to do and they’re not adequately punished or fired for not keeping up with the standards they learnt whilst at the police academy. Just upholding those standards would get rid of a lot of the bad cops!

The cops can give anywhere from 1 to 5 sets of orders before opening fire. RNG was kinda bad but it coulda been worse

Can't. If you get within the mobsters aggro radius you trigger an unskippable cutscene and if you aggro the cops directly then the mobsters despawn and the game soft locks.
I never managed the sub ten either because I always fail the Andato skip in the first cycle.

Favorite part was the death/respawn shortcut to be closer to the town hall. First time I was following a speed guide in an MMO, one of the steps told me to jump from a mountain to respawn back in town, and literally EVERY player was doing it. There were bodies all over the ground below, like some sort of lemming parade. Poor NPC who watches players keep leaping off the mountain all day.
Lemmings don't actually do that. But I know what you mean lol.

He could have broken the 9 minute barrier if he ignored the mob-boss with the cigar. With the way he was smoking it...he would have killed himself.

Just needs to do SRM for sub-10 to erase the mob bosses from existence and update the trigger for the end credits to be a slice of pizza or something
Assuming that all of the episodes are back to back speedrun footage, and using the time you can see at 0:57 in part 2, he takes a total of 10:44 to get to the end cutscene, which I consider the frame where the phone appears. So the final NPC was right.

The run cycle is already fairly funny, but the music adds even more humor.
He probably runs that way, because microjumps are slightly faster than running.
Hilarious how even after their mob boss is dead, all his bodyguards just stand there as if nothing happened. It’s one of the best feeling ever when you discover a bypass for a trigger like that in a game.

Our hero foils an assassination attempt, breaks into a bank vault, cheats death, takes out the mafia AND gets the girl. Yet, he didn't get the world record...what a shame.
He didn't even get on the top 100. See, the trick is to find the hidden dragon waifu and seduce her with the money from the bank vault. You can use her to skip getting the girl at the end, which shaves off about 3 minutes from your time. If the RNG is on your side, you can also make the sniper rifle spawn early and shave off 20 seconds by killing two of the mob bosses early using the JERK-A Method.
He had bad RNG on the cops, he got the three cycle DONT MOVE, ideally they start blasting after the first warning

I was really hoping to find out how to save the girlfriend in the final fight. I keep getting the bad ending. Tony Lozuto keeps shooting her while I'm reloading or taking cover, and if I try to get too close, he sprays me full of lead. This wasn't very helpful, though, since I'm trying to go for a glitchless run. Oh, well.
You have to just stand still and not approach like he says, until he eventually goes into his second dialogue option and offers you a chance to join him instead of fighting. Obviously you have to choose "no" to get the good ending, then that's when the real fight begins.

I don't think he's been putting in more effort. I think they simply realized that quick and sudden movements cause those motion-blur effects; so, it seems like they take things slower. Also, I think they learned how to manipulate the programs to better work the way they want them to. It appears the extra effort went more into the story, dialogue, and comedy; because, this is by-far my favorite of the Speedrunner from the NPC perspective videos.

Watch plenty of Cops (the show) and this happens all time. 3-4 offices just screaming various, sometimes conflicting, commands at someone and then getting upset when they seem confused as to what they actually want them to do.
Now some of you might be thinking. "But hey, all 3 videos of this lets play times at around 6 minutes 30 seconds, not 10 minutes!" Now that may be true, but everyone thats played Super Mafia Blunders would know that theres a 3 and a half minute unskippable cutscenes that Goat graciously cut from the speedrun letsplay.

The most unrealistic thing about this speed run is the $25 hospital charge. Must be insured then, because that's still only about $361.39 to $432.80 in 2022 money (Accounting for inflation). Wait, if he's got insurance, no wonder he didn't get sub 10 minutes. That's like 30 seconds wasted even though that strat is safer.
It's the 1930s/40s so that's a lot of money. The point was he skipped travelling time by deliberately getting hurt so that he could go to the hospital which was probably closer to the destination. Skyrim speedrunners do the same thing by getting themselves arrested as it gets them to Whiterun, via the jail, much faster.

Agreed, even at inflation from the 20's to today, it'd be a little under $400.

@@craigh5236 Well, yeah, but also this whole speed run series looks to be based off of GTA/Mafia series of games so it's kinda based in nondescript USA.
It would actually be really cool if games had unique dialog from npc's depending on how quickly you went through the game.
I'd like to see unique dialog options for if you're comedically over-leveled for a fight, perhaps from doing sidequests.

Thanks! I just counted and it's around 100 or so keyframes, give or take some "fixer" keyframes where I redraw just a body part or two, and some simple "face" keyframes because I render the face separately.

The conflicting police orders is too real. That feeling when the game's internal clock is vague while you're trying to speed run. "Just over ten minuets." is anywhere from 10:01 to 10:30 while "Just under eleven minuets" is anywhere from 10:31 to 10:59. And the runner's previous personal best was "Just over nine minuets" so they were wanting a "Just under nine minuets" for this run. Thanks for the video.
