Live Chat With The Full Chateau Family Reunited. (Take 2)
TAKE TWO, (sorry about the first attempt daft Mac )
Bonjour à tous, de la part de tout le monde au château.
Well the day is finally here, The day we as a family are finally reunited. As a lot of you know part of the family have been in the uk for the past year and part at the château in France.
With the added stress of Covid restrictions it has made it almost impossible for us all to be together for over a year.
The last time the four of us where together and at the château was the start of August 2020 when we done the first signing for the château, since then we have been separated in all different ways and did not know when we would be back together as a family at our new home, until now.
Tracy and Tony have done a fantastic job with the work on the cottage and the château, but now Terry and ash have finally arrived they can help with the much needed renovations.
To celebrate us all being reunited, this week we will be doing a live chat with you all and hope you can all join us. It will be great to share with you all our journey from the UK to France and owning a french family château.
#chateau #family #reunited
About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

Hello, Your restoration is so perfect with all the details done so well! I have watched every episode and am fascinated by how Well Terry has the vision to put everything right! I love all the rooms you've restored! My favorite is probably the blue room; my favorite color, but the bathroom is a wonder that would be great to have a nice, cozy bath! Please include me in your give away for 2 nights stay!
That was like a night out in. Great chat and laughter, loved Jonathan's 'see y'as'. Bless him, he has grown in confidence it seems. Thanks 🥰
Nice to hear from you. The sound quality fluctuates. Please add subtitles, if possible.
Thank you very much, we will in the future 🥰
This has been fantastic. So delighted you are all together at last. It is a joy to watch you all growing in confidence here. Love little Jonathan. Well done folks. 🍷🍷
Thank you very much 🥰
Brilliant work happening at Chateau de Lalacelle! Well done so far! Much respect and admiration for you.
Thank you very much 🥰
You are very special. Your hard work and love for each other is uplifting!
Thank you very much 🥰
I’m Irish ☘️ and understand you. Great to see you all together. Glad Jonathan doing well at school. I know you will work every day and all will be ok. Looking forward to you progressing.
Thank you very much 🥰
It was so great to hear about everything that is going on. You have a beautiful chateau and property. It was difficult to hear everyone at times with the dog barking. How nice to have Jonathan asking some of the questions! 😊❤️🇨🇦
Thank you very much, we will sort it for next time 🥰
OMG! I thought it was hilarious with braying mule finally joining in. Wait until the peacocks arrive. They are ridiculously loud and they poop all over everything. Ah... life on the farm... er... ferme. The centuries old culture surrounding France's chateaux is quite interesting. You will likely find that the habitation of the site of your chateau has been continous for several hundred years before the present chateau structure was built, perhaps even as far back as Roman times. Do you have any surface water on the property? The French were masters at moving and using the precious water resources. They were able to move goods all over the country on their waterways, natural and man-made.
It is so wonderful to see you all together chatting and laughing! It warmed my heart so much! You are a lovely family! Keep up the good work! I raise my glass to you all !!!! Hugs from Quebec, Canada.
Thank you very much ❤️❤️
Lovely update and your vision for the future. Just a teeny tip if you do this again. Try not to talk over each other 😘
It was a bit hard to understand at times. Part of it for me is the accent. I live it, but my brain has to become familiar with it. Then it becomes much easier to follow. Another part was that speakers would trail off and not finish their thoughts. It was all so interesting, I wanted to hear what everyone had to say.
So much fun watching you…..I didn’t have a question. I would love to be there and rust proof those metal thingies over the steps. I once lived on a steel yacht and treating any rust spots was my job. Thats a lot of rust, I would have a ball there!
How lovely to see you all together, Tracey you have lit up now your Terry and Ashley have arrived. You are more confident in front of the camera too. Love to see all the changes. X
Lovely to see you all together. It is a huge move but you are driving your own destiny. Hard workers always move forward.
Thank you very much 🥰
Sue Hall Glad to see you altogether chatting on a summer evening brilliant Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Sorry I missed the live but the replay was absolutely wonderful. So happy to see you together - happy and relaxed, glass of wine in hand.
Who is Derek Briggs and why is he responding to comments? Don’t mean to be rude, just wondering where he fits in.
@@jaylgl Derek is Tony from the château 🥰
@@chateaudelalacelle thank you for replying (I’m so embarrassed!)
I really love to hear that you guys are focused on what’s important which is your excellent young man Jonathan. It’s very nice to see you all together and get a sense of your family dynamics. Keep up the great work you’re doing with your life and your wonderful chateau. Jonathan will treasure this video record of your start in France restoring this beautiful home.
Thank you very much, yes it will be great for Jonathan to look back on in the future 🥰
Great q&a but when you all answer at the same time I can't figure out what anyone said. Please put the dogs where they can't be heard or interrupt your talking. I'm looking forward to a tour of the cottage, the grounds and the chateau. Thank you!
Thank you very much, yes we will put the dogs away on the next one 🥰
I Do Luv these "Fireside Chats" like this one And the one's summing up the work at the end of each video. It's a friendly chat at the end of the day when we stop by & get a "Pull up a chair, have a cuppa or glass of wine" Just a homey next door neighbor feel about it. 🌹💕
Thank you very much 🥰
You are a fantastic family I love watching all of you and seeing enjoying what you doing take care xx
It's so nice to have the boys joining in now.....what a super family! I so look forward to seeing everything start to come together inside the chateau. Like you say "crack on"!
Thank you very much, yes now we are all together we can get work started on the château 🥰
Lovely to see you all sitting in the sun enjoying the French rural life style
So special how you all brightened up when talking about things for Johnathon he is one lucky chappie.
A gorgeous family - fun and real! Reminds me of the times my (large) family get together and we talk in what I call a layered way - even if someone else is saying something we do hear each other and there is an easy flow that allows all of us all to chip in and not have to wait for someone to finish what they say - which would take an age given our number and make for a very wooden experience for all... I say keep it real - that’s what makes you guys special, in my book anyway!!
While in a family setting that "layered" talk is great, but I think that it can be difficult to separate what people are saying when you are not actually there. It is also like listening to another accent, although with time you get used to it. My brother had a girlfriend (they were both over age 30) who was in catatonic shock after dinner at our house with everybody talking at once and talking over other people! WE were all having a great time!

Thank you your vlogs are seeing me through some very hard times sending you all the love in the world xx
Wow, truly lovely family. I am a little late to the party but really enjoying your videos. Thank you xx
Great to see you all together at last you deservevall the luck in world can't wait for the next episodes . Terry you cant ever have enough chandeliers my love , can't wait . Tickle on the tum for the dogs and a big kiss for Patrick he's sooooo cute .we have Dachunds in the family .
This was so nice. I'm glad that we were finally able to see you all together. It's so nice that Jonathan is adjusting so well to school and his new life in France. He's so lucky to be surrounded by such a loving family. How delightful that your fans are beginning to support your massive undertaking with gifts. The tapestries are lovely. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a couple spots to put them. You're fortunate that have so much acreage around the chateau. You have the rest of your lives to get creative with that incredible asset. I wait anxiously for your updates into your lives in France. You all seem to be the kind of sincere, hardworking people who deserve to succeed in this endeavor. BTW... I'm originally from northern Minnesota in the US. For what it's worth, I absolutely love your accents. You might have seen the film Fargo by the Coen Bros. They lampooned us "provincial" northerners, but I have no shame about where I came from. I was not conscious that I spoke English with an accent until then. I should have realized it when the French thought I sounded Canadian when I lived there during the early 80's. Life's a journey. It's not about where you came from, but about where your path takes you. So crack on!
Thank you so much 🙏🥰
Thank you for answering my question about the kitchen cabinets. Can hardly wait to see them in the kitchen.
The kitchen is beautiful for the cottage 🥰
I enjoyed your live chat and the family dynamics are lovely. It was a little bit hard to follow the conversation at times when you were all speaking at once.
Wonderful plans and great family. Look forward to seeing the progress.
Thank you very much 🥰
I so enjoy your comments and dreams for your chateau! I live in a 19th century home and when we bought it, we really didn't know much about it except that there were a lot of myths and misinformation about it. Gradually, like you, some older people would stop by and give us information about the home's past. Thank you for your insights and enthusiasm. Someone told us that "life is a journey" and I really like your journey! Cheers and "bon chance"!
@@derekbriggs6207 Bless you all! Such happiness and the sense of adventure you all have. Love to follow your upcoming vlogs! Thank you!
Caught you on replay - loved it. It’s great you’re altogether - missed Terry and Ash. You are a lovely family and I’m so looking forward to your vlogs. Thank you for sharing your “journey”. 👌👌
Thank you very much 🥰
It is obvious from these comments and the questions on the live chat that your audience really likes and is concerned about little Jonathan. He is quite the little man and we are impressed by his sweet nature and his adventurous spirit. It really shows that he is being raised with an abundance of love and care. Good job, family! However, for us from across the pond, we do struggle a bit with understanding your accents and captions would really help. Best wishes from a subscriber in California.
Turn on the closed captions option. I always do that. Love the vlogs keep up the renovations…everything shaping up nicely! From PA, USA
You are all adorable! Fun to see you all together! Hugs from Lorraine, Quebec, Canada!
Thank you very much 🥰
This was just wonderful! You are such a great family & I just love how you interact and respect each others' opinion! I missed the live chat...I was so looking forward to it! You did a great job on your first live chat! Tracy...you are just awesome! I look forward to watching your journey! Thank you so much for sharing, take really good care of yourselves, stay safe! Much love Kathy x (Ontario, Canada)
Thank you very much 🥰
I think you’re all very brave, it’s a major step to do, uprooting oneself from everything and everyone you know is an enormous step and not to mention extremely daunting. Moving interstate was enough for me. I say good on ya and congratulations.
Huge admiration for you.
Thank you, to you all for this live chat , I look forward to more vidoes of the onward work . Lana. Australia
Thank you very much 🥰
I've just watched your family live chat here in Australia I absolutely loved it what a fabulous family! You all look so happy together! I'm sure you'll be moved in for Christmas 🎄 as your such hard working ! Great your there Tracey as you can crack the whip when the men are slacking off 😁 Made me miss my UK siblings in Manchester listening to your accents ! Take care & good luck achieving your goals 🥰
Wish I was watching you guys back then. I would have been on.
This was lovely..a great idea..lots of fun
Phew, I thought there would be no live chat. Glad it got all straightened out. First of all, retirement may be fine, but I personally don't think it's all that it's cracked up to be. I'm a young 68, and I wake up every morning raring to go. Lots to do living on a farm. So my suggestion, grab life by the horns and see where you end up. You'll be surprised.
How very exciting. You all are wonderful!
Thank you very much 🥰
Lovely to see you all and to hear your plans
Thank you very much 🥰
Really enjoyed listening to your chateau journey. A lovely happy evening. Looking forward to a tour round 😊😊

I love that you are having such a laugh together!
Thank you very much 🥰
I want to tell you all that I have no problem at all understanding your accent. I live in Alabama in the US and folks can’t understand us here until they stop laughing.
Thank you very much 😊🥰
Great Q&A. Thank you.
Thank you very much 🥰
Well done guys... ❤🇦🇺
Loved seeing you all together although I had some trouble actually hearing you. Will rewatch just to see if I can figure it all out. Looking forward to the progress in the chateau now too. 😊
such a happy family, its great to see, wish i was your neighbour, id love to help out, love all your videos, and look forward to more . thanks
I just love all the wood paneling in your staircase and other chateau rooms! Your entrance and staircase is my favorite of all the chateau channels I watch! What will you need to do to restore it? Is it in good shape?
Tracy, your haircut is absolutely gorgeous!
Wonderful to see you together again! Good beginnings. You say that prices in France are higher than the UK. When I moved to Bradford, I spent money like I did in the States and it only went half as far! Which sounds like France is really expensive! You'll just have to buy smart. I know its all new to you, but see if you can find a painter who would allow you to buy paint in bulk through their company. I try to " piggyback buy" with someone else to get a better price, if that makes sense. Perhaps another way to describe it is " Co-OP buying with other parties. This is going to be a fabulous adventure! ~ Diane
Thank you very much, great idea 🥰
You are most welcome! When I said contact a painting company, I also meant, try to combine a buy with one of their customers! But the company itself may be willing to help you, in the name of restoration. Or you could place a "want ad" in a local newspaper. I worked in the UK, as a Senior Buyer for George Barker Refrigeration. It was all about saving money where possible, by combining purchase orders with other companies on like products, with two different drop ship addresses. We also practice that today on the farm, combining orders with neighbors to get a better price. You are all doing an amazing thing by combining your family dynamic, through purchasing this stellar property for your family's future. Great job! I hope more folks consider reuniting with each other to create a fulfilling lifestyle. Our working farm is 3rd generation. We are three families. ~ Diane P.S.- After living 3 years in West Yorkshire, I have no problem understanding you. Where I tripped up in my initial UK stay, was the slang! My friend had to explain what a moggie 😼 was...
Fantastic family!!!
Thank you very much 🥰
It's enjoyable to have questions answered. Until you get a different microphone, could you assign one person to speak at a time? Talking all together is fun to hear, but the mike you have can't cope. Also, at some point can you film floorplans/layouts? Even a hand-drawn set, with colored markers? I find in most of the chateau channels that it's hard to understand where a person is working or what area is being spoken of. Thanks!
Awesome family. That was a lot of fun.
Thank you very much 🥰
Looking forward to see some hard yakka from The young guys! Will be interesting to see the effort and ideas. If anything like your old man and mum, then you’ll do alright.
👍👍👍👍 loved the video
You guys are a super cool and tight family. It would be nice if everybody can let everyone else finish their thoughts without so much interruption. I enjoy all your episodes and energy!
Really nice to here the accent , I went to school in Barnard Castle ,trained as a nurse in Darlington , moved south . Caddington, Reading , up to Middleton in Teesdale final move Shropshire . Xx
Enjoyed the chat, but can you all not talk at the same time please?!! Lovely to see you all back together but you are just too exuberant! 😂😂😂. And Ash, can you not talk with your hand over your mouth, as it’s hard to hear what you are saying. Seriously though, loving watching your progress, and thank you for sharing.
I love your vlog, great family and I watch the adds to contribute to your wine 🍷 supply 😜
Yes. Would love a tour from your view and future plans.
Thank you very much, that will be the next one 🥰
Loved this video. I am just so happy that you are all together. I would love to someday come over from Canada 🇨🇦 and do the work away. I would love to volunteer my time to help out. I am retiring next year, so I have the time. 😊 I would definitely help Tracy digging and finding things. And I could help out with the cooking and baking.
Thank you very much, that would be wonderful Tracy definitely needs the help 🥰
lovely
Yes we can
If you bring your camera down so you are the most of what is seen in frame your focus will stabilize right noe the chateau is filling the frame so the camera is focusing on that... love you guys
Magic
Sound fluctuations made it hard to hear.
The 2 iron I forget the French name of them either side of the tower. Are you going to treat them early if still in a good condition? Otherwise best to take them down and keep them for later and then renovate them ready to put back up. They can ruin the frames of the windows below if you renovate them before doing those if left in situ.
Hi! I'm probably one of the first to subscribe to your channel after seeing ChateauRescue. What happened to your videos on that channel? If I may suggest, not painting over the wood panels is very elegant. Very few chateau owners do that. It brings a certain level of modernity to an old interior.
Thank you very much, château rescue is still going and just waiting till all episodes are done before release. We will definitely not be painting the beautiful wood panelling, it is far to beautiful 🥰
loud and clear
Well, did we enjoy that! We have loved all the vlogs and know we will love those in the future. Just a thought…your donkey is alone and that will be the reason he shouts. They are herd animals and should be in twos minimum, that way they ‘protect’ each other naturally…poor boy.
Unfortunately the donkey is not ours and Is upto the farmer if he would like another, he just uses our field 🥰
Love you guys. Found the sound quality poor.Dog barking was the only thing to clear. Picture quality poor to, maybe because we’re in Australia. You are a beautiful family so keep on with the live vlogs as bad quality is better than none. Hope you don’t take offence to comment on quality, just thought you would like to know. Best wishes as always Yvonne x
Thank you very much for your comment, hopefully we can get it sorted for the interior live tour 🥰🥰
So glad I could make the live buttttttt I wanna watch again 😘
Enjoyed it again. It’s like watching a good movie. I’d much rather watch this than what’s on the bootube 😘
Thank you very much 🥰
Hi I really enjoy your vlogs, been with you since the beginning, but this live is tricky to hear you, from all talking together, dog barking and excitement in the chat that makes your accent hard to hear. I’m a Londoner, so Northern accent is new to me, thanks,
I will catch up soon keep going over the ones I all really seen 😭😭😭😢😢
