asal makes it so easy to hate him
Dessouky has world no.1 potential... when he's at his best, he's absolutely insane.
If he stays infury-free, yes.
Elias is a class act. Mueller is a tough opponent.
2:07 that camera angle is awesome...
Love you John Makin, you are a legend man. It's frustrating playing a guy whose out to whack you in the head, and never doing that on your own turn shows you have a great character. Well played sir.
By far the best quarterfinals. I am stoked about the next round. Every player is in their best form. My bet is on an Asal vs Dessouky finale.
World number 1 plays at their best consistently though, you stated the very reason he isn't number 1 i think
really loving the dynamic camera angle, hope we see more of it in the upcoming platinum events
It makes me feel sick tbh
I hope not, unless they figure out how to match the quality of other cameras. It makes me feel a bit sick TBH, same as @Shawn Moore.
@@shawnmoore4425 yeah i can see why, i think it's the drop in frame rate compared to the normal cameras. hopefully they can fix that
Great video! Phenomenal spider-cam angle. Fantastic camera work all round.
Mueller is incredibly fun to watch right now. Still often the underdog but oozing confidence and backing it up by making (most of) the shots!
Squash needs entertaining players like Ramy similar to Roger Federer We do not need bad players like Asal What a game Mueller played !!!
jealous
I agree with the Ramy Ashour part but I find Roger Federer far from an entertaining player. More like clinical.
Lol 😂 jealous of Asal !!! Hahahahahahahaha I know right Asal is living a happy respectful ideal life bwaahahahahaha Everyone around him loves him The whole squash fraternity is proud of him So I am definitely jealous 🤣
@@rajeevam3 well at least Im jealous of your sense of sarcasm, what was your IQ again, capt genius?
@@mellownuance here comes an Asal supporter and a Paul hater, 😂... You are too genius for a Video evidence 🤔... Try again watch @12.36 why he got a stroke...
Did anyone catch that when Asal keeps his racket up at gameball that hits Makin in the head, Asal walks over and extends his hand, Making says "f*ck off".
Oh the racket swing that Joel just casually walked into? Joel has a terrible temper.
Asal was trying to shake Makin's hand because he thought he had won the game but Makin was appealing for a let for being whacked in the head. Asal is a toddler when it comes to awareness of his opponents, and he had already been annoying Makin with his movement and pushing/blocking the whole match. The blatant disrespect he showed to Makin in that moment deserved Joel's anger, though it is disappointing to see "the gentlemen's game" reduced to this squabble.
@@maverickpearson9212 Well said Sir
Fantastic matches 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
12:23 Joel Makin saying Fk off to Asal JAJAJA MY GOD WHAT A MOMENT.
10:42 Asal steps out of the way after his shot 11:12 Makin completely makes room for Asal to take the line to the corner 11:28 Asal takes an unnecessary step after his shot, blocking Makin's line to the back of the court 12:04 no unnecessary steps from Asal 12:17 Asal's right foot steps completely into Makin's line, irrespective of his swing At this level, Asal knows exactly where his opponent is and exactly what the opponent's line to the ball should be. However, it seems like his old habit of stepping into his opponent's line is hard to break. (Edit for timestamp)
Once a cheat... The sad part is he is good enough to win without cheating. His condecsending behaviour after every match is discraseful! Terrible sportsman and role model!
Yep, have to agree, he has a very bad habit of stepping back into his opponents line. I'm sure that's why top players lose to him through frustration. Funny thing is, he is good enough to win without doing this.
Much better camera angle to show the true speed and movement of the ball when hit!!!! More please!!!!!
Some amazing games
Nicolas Mueller is displaying a rich vein of form well above his Nr. 26 World Ranking. He surely is due a Tour win one of these days to crown his 14 (yes, 14) national titles. As for Elias, how I wish for him that the stately manner and fine touch that he has exhibited here in beating Mueller takes him all the way to title.
truly i look forward to every asal highlight, much better than PC
Sad to see Asal back, was nice and quiet for a while...
So hard to cheer for Makin, but against Asal I had to!
Yes the exact same thing for me
Nah Making was just looking for excuses against Asal. Pretty poor form on his part tbh.
@@shawnmoore4425 watch the whole match dude. Asal played shamefully as hell. As always.
Man I love Nikki Mueller's quash right now
Does everyone see the difference between the match of Asal and Joël and Nicky against Nicky... the last two had fun and respect.... thanks PSA fir the phantastic views of the matches and comments
Good matches
I always think Asal will change, then in his next match he shows me I am wrong
the camera angle changes are good
¿Por qué tardáis tanto en sacar los resumenes?
Was hoping makin would have beaten Asal the bighead 😂😂😂😂😂
Makin playing to curry favour with the crowd and the biased referees...love Asal...beat Makin fair n square
@@ahmedmoosa2001 you're just as much of a disgrace to the sport as asal is then.
Missing Simon while watching Nikki
Momen is an enigma to me. Such a clever player, insanely fast, great skills. But how can he make such an amazing comeback in the second, saving match balls and breaking Fares down to the point where he's wanting strokes just to be done with the match, but then the next thing we see is Momen 7-2 down in the 3rd?? Tarek has been playing at the top level for a very long time, one would expect his mental game and ability to stay consistent would be far better by this point. Not taking anything from Fares, he played very well, but Tarek is his own worst enemy sometimes
Man Elias gets the toughest balls with the most nonchalant lazy looking movement/body language - it basically adds to the deception in how good of a shot he end up hitting off those insane gets.
Now I am wondering if Hesham will play Nantes again this year…
The Makin / Asal match was electric ⚡️
Super guy Hesham
Love the genuine disbelief the commentator has when makin plays a drop shot. Like makin’s never played one in his entire life…… oh wait. 😂
PSA doesn't need to make an episode called shots of the month , they can call it Hesham shots of the month
Wasn't a big fun of Dessouky but when Asal came to this game, he leads the hall of fame imho. Horrible attitude, aggression, and cheekiness...
"Delayed massive scream". Amazing.
Asal is undeniably talented, and will probably reach #1 rank soon. No one is arguing against that, I guess. However, he needs to stop with his shenanigans and antics (to list but a few: claiming a ball that was clearly down was up; blocking players paths "unintentionally"; being disrespectful at the end of the match when celebrating; etc). He must learn a lot about sportsmanship and class. He does NOT represent a healthy role model for young children who aspire to be great at this sport. In fact, he's quite the opposite.
Which is a good thing, cause you can point at him and say " don't be like that, he's acting like a right ****".
Across all sports that I watch he is one of the most unlikable characters I've ever seen. He is not a good person and it's clear to see.
I feel the celebrations are actually quite funny, let him celebrate the way he wants. It just adds some personality to the game. But yes during the match you should act like a gentleman.
Meh!!! That's your expectations and insecurities you are trying to impose/project. He is young and obviously has a lot to learn about the way to carry himself. He will discover what works best for him. He is actually a breath of fresh air, Squash needs some drama like this, and he has a lot to offer for the sport. You can't expect him to carry himself the way you would like him to; he wouldn't be in his position if not for his tenacity and current mentality! Its quite far fetched to say he is the exact opposite of what a role model for younger players should be...give credit where due. He has fire in the belly! At the end of the day he is a young competitor, who will make his mistakes. The last thing anyone should be doing is trying define how one should act and behave. Everyone has the right to express/discover their personality on the court within the confines of what is respectful.
Unfortunately, how can you stop it when they are mostly subjective
Is everybody agree with the NO LET at the end of the 2nd game DESSOUKY/MOMEN?
Yes
I am definitely not. At least a let, from what I can see.
Nooooooo Nicky!!! Missed the f'n nick-y!!!
There are many players that are tall and big, Asal is the only one make me feel he is taking too much space by always keeping his legs wide spread and make no efforts to allow opponents to pass through.
who is the female commentator?
Alison Waters
I don't like asal but wow he can hit a rocket of a shot
Love that camera angle!
la camara nueva parecida a la de seguridad jsjsjjs
Dessouky have a BIG talent, Asal was pretty entertaining with his dance, and too bad Mueller wasn't win, but Elias had better game. Nice recap. Thanks
I dislike Asal as much as the next guy, but I didn't understand the stroke call. It seemed to me that Makin played a bad shot and, in his attempt to make up for it, put himself squarely in the line of fire and got whacked for his trouble.
Makin did the absolute maximum he could to make up for the bad shot, including staying out of Asal's way, but Asal's (intentionally) wild swing was meant to prevent Makin from getting to the ball.
@@garethjones5385 Watch it again. It's not a wild swing at all. If anything he holds it back. If he would have stopped, there would have been reasonable grounds for a no let. I'm with you Larry, not an Asal fan, but that's a horrible call.
3 egipcios y un peruano ...aquí vamos denuevo.
asal AH
12:20 should not have been a stroke, in my opinion. Makin hits a loose shot, Asal needs space to hit it properly and take advantage of the loose shot. Makin should have not gone into Asal's swing. It should be a Let at best, because we don't want to encourage people encroaching too much on other player's swing space to force a let when they're at a disadvantage.
Absolutely perfect comment 👏
100%. Joel just wandered into his swing looking for an excuse. Pitiful display from him really.
I think the decision was based on how asal moved towards Makin directly as opposed to where he should have gone .. asal is pretty bad how he moves into the opponents line to intentionally get in the way... a lot (please keep in mind I DO NOT like Makin at all ... I find he plays like a bully and yells too much)
I didn’t see the point at match point as a stroke, but a let looked reasonable. The stroke (that Asal made) looked normal to me. He was at the T, Makin made a poor shot, and he didn’t go past halfway in the shot he took. Asal’s antics, especially the trailing leg and moving into opponent’s line, but I didn’t see anything in this particular point.
The oblique angle of camera especially in the 4th q/final really disturbed the view n the game. Plz keep it simple. Thanks for uploading the videos.
Disagree strongly. Absolutely phenomenal camera angle - gives you a whole new level of insight in how good these guys are. Amazing camera work on this video - definitely lifts the quality and entertainment value quite a few notches.
Asal is terrible for the sport. He may be very talented, but he needs to grow up very quickly. Very off-putting. Squash will never grow as a sport if Asal is used as a benchmark for acceptable play.
Asal obviously learned nothing from his suspension...
I love Aasal! What a player and entertainer 👏🏻
I'm scared to live in a society with you if that's the case 😭
@@togume 😂
arse al
8:42 after the initial contact of his racquet with Makin, asal continued to push the racquet into his face. Then he had the nerve to come for a shake. Seriously just ban this guy.
Asal!
Asal being Asal
12:05 makin slips and tries to blame asal🤣🤣
Asal the beast. Dissouky the grace and beauty ✨️
Asal aka baby shrek
Once again we see ASAL win at all costs he’s a talent but most unlikeable playing the markers all the time, hope he’s out in the next round
Asal the Mohammed Ali of squash...finally bringing life to world squash....Muhammed Alli was also dispised at first...a black boxer was not supposed to be soo good and entertaining...love you Asal
I wouldn't say Asal is quite in the same position, Egyptian players have been very good and entertaining for decades
Ali and Asal in the same breath.....really??
@@philipkori3208 yes ..once you take yr blinkers off
Asal is not right in the head.
He's exactly what squash needs. The so called gentleman's sport is not really entertaining for the masses. It is in dire need for world class extroverts. I'm rooting for Asal all the way 🙌🏾💪🏾
Asal’s a proper nob
If you're going to dance, at least make it look good.
The video refs stroke decision to Makin at the end of the second set was a disgrace. Makin was crowding Asal as Asal played his shot........no let all day long. Mueller vs Elias was just magic to watch.
asal has to be the most entertaining player I've ever seen. the ACTUAL squash fans understand this, look how excited the crowd were when he was celebrating. Whether you're on his side or not its AMAZING for the sport, on the one hand he's the bad boy villain that lots of people hate, and on the other he's a hyper talented and mentally strong competitor. Which ever side you're on it creates an amazing dynamic and good conversation and debate between squash fans. I hope that he's here to stay. Gone are the days of reserved gentle characters... this is the age of entertainment and brashness and cockiness with the skills and mentality to back it up. There's good reason why he's a superstar in Egypt
Definitely the Mohammed Alli of squash...brawn and brains
@JK Would you say that Nick Matthew, Greg Gaultier or Mohamed Elshorbagy, to name just a few, could be considered "reserved gentle characters"?
@@bindestregen you’re cherry picking. I’m talking about wanting players to be more outgoing and entertaining. It’s all good being quiet and focussed but the dynamic that Asal brings is just completely new. Nick Matthew was straight up boring. Greg Gaultier was massively entertaining. But the vast majority of their competitors were drab and part of the reason why squash hasn’t taken off. With players like asal it creates conversation that can spread to further than just the 4 walls of a squash court. Any publicity for this sport is good
@@JK-jr1gs I personally don't mind Asal being outgoing... The unsportsmanlike play is completely unacceptable though.
@@arnaud78 games the game mate. Do what you can to win. It’s up to the refs to deal with it
asal maybe toxic, in fact, he definitely is, but he makes squash more entertaining to watch with the drama
I will forever hate the best of three format in squash. I’ve always hated it in women’s tennis, an I’ll always feel like it’s incomplete.
Penalty stroke against Asal on match ball, really?!! I feel Makin crowded him big time.
Asal is a disgrace to the sport👎
Asap is still a ........
When will PSA finally stop Asal, this embarrasing unguided missile...!?
Please never do that camera movement at 2:41. Horrible stuff; made me nauseous, theres enough movement already, and it's a terrible angle to understand what happened (that no let was completely missed).
I absolutely loved it! Lol
Asal, just back from suspension and right back at it. He didn't learn a damn thing. A disgrace for the sport.
Makin has some things to answer for also.
Asal it the most disgusting player ever...may be the second after Marwan
Listen Asal is not the nicest and does not promote a good picture but you cannot deny his talent
white biase for tiger favor unfair to game and jusitice
