People getting up in arms over which strategem we’re going to get, as if we’re not going to have both of them within the next few weeks, is just silly. Once we take the second planet, we’ll probably get something along the lines of, “While the brave Helldivers were unfortunately unable to rescue the loyal citizens, we were able to recover partially completed plans for a new strategem. Super Earth’s brightest minds are currently working tirelessly night and day to finalize these plans, however, without the original minds behind the project, it will take some time before mass production can begin.”

Yeah that's kind of how I think the mech MO would have turned out if we failed. Not a complete denial of the content that devs worked on, but a delay as they iron out bugs. Remember how mechs deployed with a bug that allowed them to blow themselves up while turning? There's a chance we wouldn't have even seen that if we had failed the MO, but instead we basically got beta access.
If I break it down to the narrative, it is like the current two stratagems are prototypes that are currently developed by the brave citizens on Penta and Choohe. Once we save them, we will get the final version, which is no longer a prototype. The game update will mirror this, meaning we have the beta version of them, and with the update, we will have the final version.
That's awesome! From a coding perspective, one is an EAT with a different projectile, and one is a fat landmine with added damage. So it's kind of odd it's even needed to choose. Just add em! It's not like we're choosing between adding the illuminates or a fleet of vehicles+map overhauls, this is simple baby coding

@@MrHocotateFreight Well, I'm not familiar with coding. On the other hand, narrative and storytelling are something that I know profoundly. Having a scenario where we have to choose and where the players have the agency to decide what will happen is fantastic (even if we can only choose one thing and not both). Making a decision not as an individual but rather as a community is great. Although regrettably, it seems some people have a rather toxic reaction.

i've already been testing it for about an hour. It has killed more people than any mortar, mines or cluster bomb combined. It's essentially a rocket propelled cluster bomb, but it detonates at its own desire. You might be aiming for a target 150 m away and it blows upafter 40 m because it might identify a building or a small enemy as a target. At this point, I am almost wanting the tank mines.

@@kylequinn1963they’re not prioritizing profits over stability. Pretty much everyone who is going to buy the game has bought the game. They’ve already made far more profit than they need. They’re just trying to keep the players happy, which is a task easier said than done.
That means that the versions of new stratagems you used are not final, the final ones will be in next update and they may have substantial changes to them.
Exactly like the railgun , flamethrower etc . Nerfs , buffs etc change a weapon drastically . I stopped using the railgun for the Quasar.. As a helldive only difficulty player , I don't encounter to many flying enemies so the anti tank mines sound better
@@midwestrebel2 that and mines do not compete with your support weapon so you can still bring LC for anti-air anyway.
@@midwestrebel2 Yeah, that's.... not a good take. The Quasar fills a different role than the Rail gun. The Rail gun is anti-personnel, and can one shot any bot short of a tank. The Quasar is an AT weapon designed to down dropships, tanks, and hulks. Apples to Oranges, Diver.
he was pretty clear it seems. the version thats in the game now is the test version which was sub optimal to the final build for the update next week.

I agree. It has a larger blast radius, and I ended up killing myself and my teammates more than the enemy. The weapon requires distance, and a lot of players will learn the hard way.

it doesnt down ships, is ineffective against heavies. Its good to bounce a patrol or something, thats about it.
It pairs very well with EATs, but I strongly feel that this makes a better bug weapon than a bot busting one. If it wasn't free, I would NOT be using it on the Penta campaign.

There is never a time wasted in fighting for democracy. Cap is simply to motivate players to play after new stuff comes up. I personally like the idea, that everytime something comes up, I have to earn it by playing. 🌍
I think they should add in a ship modules that increases the cap for req, samples and medals... I'm maxed out on everything and have unlocked everything but 3 of the trophy achievements.

I do think that the AT mines would be better in terms of adding more variety and more viable options for defense stratagems (aside from mortar and autocannon sentry spam) However, the rocket launcher is more dynamic since it’s portable and can be reloaded. It also has a huge AOE that’s amazing for horde clearing, which not a lot of support weapons are good at. I still think we’ll get both eventually, but we’ll have to wait a little longer for the other stratagem

after using the airburst rocket launcher, I pray to God that this is not the final version. there's no way to know when the rocket will actually blow up. I was targeting a canon tower that was about 100 m away. There was another smaller tower off to the left-hand side about 20 m in front of me. The rocket blew up at the target 20 m away instead of the target that I was aiming at 100 m away.it killed me. This is very frustrating.
So, you basically don't know how it works yet and have more to learn.
@@j2d4oi I actually have a pretty good idea of how it works, but the problem is that the rocket itself is inconsistent. Sometimes I will aim at a target far away and it travels the entire distance and blows up at the target. There have been other times where I'm firing at a target at a similar distance away, but then it blows up halfway to the target because it perceives something else to be a target. Sometimes that target is an enemy, sometimes that target is a building, sometimes that target is a fence. I was aiming the rocket up in the sky at roughly 60° to shoot at a gunship. There was a devastator on the ground about 30 yards from me. The rocket blew up in the air at the distance of the devastator. The problem is that it did not kill either enemy. It was less than half the distance from the gunship, but it was about 20-30 m above the devastator. as of right now it cannot close bug holes, and it is very inconsistent with blowing up fabricators. there have been times where it has perceived the mines as an enemy. So when I go to shoot at a fabricator or enemy, the rocket will blow up well before hitting the intended target and blows up the mines instead. so, I understand how it works, the problem is that you just have no idea what the rocket perceives to be an enemy.
@@j2d4oi update: after further testing, it perceives even your own sentries and mines as a threat. You have to aim well above these in order for it not to blow up over them. even resupplies and support weapons in the hellpods are perceived as enemies. I shot one of these about 10 m to the right and two or 3 m above where the resupply was, and it blew up at that distance. This is a huge problem.

Just testet the airburst rocket launcher. It does not even kill drop ships on direct hit. Neither a hit to the engine or a hit to the red middle section....needs a reworks imo
They said that the versions in game are weaker than the final versions will be.
It's not meant to kill heavy targets, it's meant to kill medium. Ignore the dropship, focus on the dropship's payload.
That's because it's not meant to be an armor destroyer. It's a chaff clearer that has no armor pen, which makes it AWFUL against bots. Seriously, if this thing was not free, I would not even reach for it during the Penta campaign, and now, not even then. However, I can see this leaving the bugs' assholes in RUINS.
The airburst is hard to use as it triggers with its proximity to the ground or after a max distance travelled. Seems after 0.5secs from launch when it's 10m from the ground it blows up. Or at 150m. Really hard to use in its current state. I think the mines will be much more usable if they actually take out anti heavy/large.

I don’t do it but I don’t understand why throwing down strategems is an issue. The randoms I’ve played with have all timed it so we’re in the extract ship and no one has ever died. Sounds like an issue for uptight people that just want to make an issue out of nothing.
Personal opinion/observation: the warmap’s sectors do affect supply lines but I think people are over complicating them. If you’re wondering what planet to liberate to get to the next planet quicker, take away the lines and make your straight path. If you get sidetracked to another planet and then say you have to liberate an extra planet, it’s meant to be that way you can’t avoid it. If two sectors are parallel and say one has a L shape, you don’t have to liberate your way around the whole L to get the the next sector, take the planet closest to the planet in the next sector. That’s how supply lines work, they will change for how we play. To say the supply lines are set in stone is strange because liberations and defend campaigns affect what planet we can move to next.
The other night we were at the extract with the pelican on standby cuz me and another teammate were getting the samples that were on the other side of the map. Once we got back there was no timer and no one was on the ship and the thing just took off. Can someone explain why the game does that or does it take damage? Please elaborate😩
If the Pelican is damaged enough it will either not take off at all or it will only take 1 person

🌎 Being forced to choose between A or B doesn't mean we will not get the one not chosen. It just means we will get it at a later time. It helps build the narrative as we go through the galactic war and makes it interesting that we have a choice.
I wonder how good the airburst rockets are at killing the bots while they are still attached to it. Instead of trying to shoot the drop ship down. Airburst is more anti personnel than armor.

A solid strategy to avoiding people tossing strategems at the extraction is to play on difficulty 7. Everyone on that difficulty is there for the samples, I've seen almost zero fuckery whatsoever since the entire team is focused on getting a map clear with as many samples as possible and taking it all home when we leave.
Personally love the idea of the resource exchange. You make a valid point about people hustling the system Cloud. An easy fix would be to add a terminal to the ship where you turn in completed war bonds. You can only access this exchange if all outstanding war bonds are completed. This also solves the problem of completed war bonds taking up space in my superstore. The other thing I’d say is that the supercredits have to remain sacred. It is the primary means of arrowhead continuing to generate revenue. While they are real ones for allowing us to pick them up in game free of charge they cannot simply give them away in an exchange for other things.

When are they gonna fix the friend request bug. Haven’t played for almost a month because of it
8:50 I don't get it, did they change something in a recent patch? Since when do strategem strikes affect the dropship after extract? The whole meta was the person with the flashiest stategem left waits till the others are on, when they are last they drop the ball and get on, activating extract and making the dropship cinema-invincible and the strategem of choice provides the fireworks show for your success. What context am I missing?
People are stupid and sometimes throw it too soon, hit the dropship and it prevents everyone from leaving due to a bug (where you can go inside but it doesn't extract). Between losing 30min worth of your time+ samples just to see 2s of an explosion you have already seen hundreds of time or abstaining from throwing a stratagem the choice is easy.
Bro we (the OG players) started doing that to get a few extra kills before we hopped in because we'd be surrounded at the LP. Noobs just throw a Strategem down and team kill when it's not necessary. That's not cinematic, it's dumb.

That medal system idea is great, but I would also like to see a milestone reward system, that logs how many total medals you've earned and gives you a new cape or title every 1000 or something.

Between the Rocket airbust launcher and the mines I think the mines could be better, just because they have more potential against the bots, while the launcher seems to be more of a crowd control that would be best against bugs, and we already have a lot of stuff better against bugs...
Throwing a strategigem down like the eagle air strike or 500k never killed anyone I was with it just makes for a cool explosion for the ship to fly out of, it's a cinematic outro to the mission.

You say you don't understand if we have the final version, but you literally just read in the developer note that the version in the game is the depreciated version. That means there have been updates made to it on the Deb side that are not live in the game. No, we do not have the final version.
what could happen is they could just set up another fun mission and release the anti-tank minefield so we'll get both but at a slow trickle making getting them more impactful
The reason only penta is available is because players pushed and captured the adjacent planet in response to the major order, as opposed to the other planet which led to choohe... at start both options were equally available but the community made a decision
I like the full currency/element grid or a purchase option...i.e. i have medals but only need super elements and the others in between arent full...perhaps an exchange shop? Need something tho.
Cluster missile that we have for free will say that it is experimental mode. That we put with any issues experimental mode has with it. Perhaps when which ever weapon we get may work better then. Will need to wait an see. Have a pleasant day!

Planet Penta is accessible now but to access the Choohe, it needs to liberate 1 more planet. That is obviously the odd playing field.

I think its cool when they let the players choose the unlock direction this in theory allow them to prioritize development time based on what the players want 🌍
🌎 so not sure if anyone else is like this. Whenever I play a game, that's fairly linear or has side quests, I end up hyper fixatung on going "the extra way" to find the treasures in the game or complete the side missions to beef up my character more for the main objectives. All this to say: if it requires an extra step to get one if two options, my mind instantly gravitated towards the harder obj since I think that will net a better loot oportunity. Let's hope we somehow pull off getting both, or somehow make the push to the Mines happen.
I got burnt out from the bot front. Not so much from the bots, but more the players. The specific thing that got to me was the level 8&9 missions that people need to do to get the high end samples are ALWAYS the missions that the team leader kicks the rest of the team on extract and then steal all the samples. Until the team kicking problem is removed, I will just ignore all bot orders and avoid the poisonous players. At current moment, the game is rewarding traitors of managed democracy!

Im still getting shot by bots through objects regularly, thats something they really need to fix. The moment an opponent is close to a rock or building they can just shoot through it.
I feel like the solution to the medal cap is just to raise it to 400 or so. 250 really isn't very many medals at all and a lot of people hit the cap without realizing it, especially with how well we've been doing on major orders. If people want to blitz through the warbond, let them.

Airburst is cool, but clearing air targets has never been an issue compared to heavies with ground chaff. Fingers crossed we get the mines within the month. 🌎

I think what they mean with the Strategems that people have had their hands on is the people there are testing and leaking strategems that we dont have access to yet but there is in the game files, like vehicles. Seems like those there is in the current game files are not the final version and we will proably get a small update with this major order done there gives us the real version and update the ones in the current game files. Basicly all the leaks we have seen from the Anti-air rockets and anti-tank mines are incomplete version of the strategems 🌍🌎🌏

I think the converting system is a great idea. I don't play so much but still I'm lvl 69(nice), maxed out on upgrades and stratagems and everything from samples to money to medals just disappears into thin air🌍🌎🌏

I get the impression we will get all the gear eventually, it's just that we'll unlock them through challenges rather than the traditional "hey here's all the goodies right now" other games do with their updates
The personal order system is definitely ideal thing to have. Finding super credits during runs is so painful since you only get 10 at a time. But tbh that's what drives me to keep playing. For Super Earth! 🌎
Used airburst today. Its kinda underwhelming. It can take out wide area of low to mid armor targets, so like a typical patrol, which you can do with a few well placed eruptor or crossbow shots. Its like a point version of the eagle cluster bomb Airburst does not down ships. Airburst is ineffective against heavies. Imho, mines would be a much much better choice.
But it has a backpack like the recoiless, autocannon or spear.

The launcher is brutal and unpredictable. It can kill groups of smaller targets no problem and it feels good when it does. But the burst is kind of random e.g. I shot a rocket at a distant target but the warhead decided to explode midway and spray my character with hot shrapnel. So yeah team kill potential but also very dangerous to yourself.
Laser cannon is going to be better than airburst for anti air anti tank mines offer a possible solution for factory walkers
Just take the cap off resources. Theyre stored on the ship after you return so you should have more room.
The airburst warheads hit box is larger then normal. Left a message for twinbeard in regards to this as it is an issue. We are the test dummies for this so don't hate to much 😂.

The fact that choohe isn't available for a MO meant to give us a choice is just another clear example of why supply lines on the galactic map is desperately needed🌎🌏
There is only one 🌎. Edit: For the medals turning to samples and then super credits, it could be active only if everything in all the warbonds are unlocked, and the covnersion doesnt have to be too high, just a little boost.
For Super🌎. im far from getting all the stuff from the warbonds. But by the time the new one comes out i'm sure i will have it. After underclocking my CPU i rarely have crashes during the game so that makes it at least more enjoyable.

If I wanna throw a stratagem and make extract explosive, I’m gonna throw it. If someone points a gun at me, they’re gonna have to move pretty fast to not get killed by the stratagem.

🌍 I like the suggestion for medal rewards going to another currency, would be pretty cool but eventually players would cap on all of the samples and just farm super credits. Maybe without the super credits at the end, it might be interesting. I'm also happy to hear that we're still going to unlock both stratagems (unless I misheard?) despite having us choose one over the other. I still think having us be able to unlock both would be preferable so no one is too put out by missing the one they wanted for a bit
