In Australia, health care is a right and gun ownership is a privilege. In America, gun ownership is a right and health care is a privilege. Some people really need to readjust their sights.
This!
Nicely said buddy
Absolutely. Lack of real affordable health care even for people who have decent jobs and "good benefits" in America is outrageous. Literally almost every American and their family is just 1 major illness away from financial ruin. Healthcare reform should be at the top of the political agenda, firearm reform should be up there too, but NOTHING AT ALL is being done about either. Insulin costs hundreds of dollars for each monthly supply now in America, literally diabetics across the nation are having to chose vital medicine or food/rent/gas and NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!
I need to borrow your post. You speak the truth.
schwoogie78 It must really piss you off that, given the choice between owning guns and affordable health care for themselves and their families, the overwhelming majority would choose health care.
It's 2022. This bit is 6 years old. 19 children have just died. Nothing has changed. He's still making valid points. America still won't do anything.
Every time there's a mass shooting in the States, my blood boils about how nothing changes... then I watch this and at least get a laugh to move on from a sad sad situation.
We can't move on. We have to stop lobbyists from ruling our country
Fuck off I like guns
Nothing changes if nothing changes.

I just noticed that part 1 has 17 million views and part 2 only has 11. That means the 20 percent that are phased out plus the 10 percent that are furious adds up nicely :)
I have watched this bit atleast 10 times or more since it first came out. It is the best standup bit ever performed on stage regarding this political issue. Thanks Jim. He should be proud of this bit. This is great legacy to be remembered for.
It is NOT a political issue anywhere else but the U.S. It is a public safety issue. Before the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania, from Australia's revolving doors rotating knives occasionally and randomly burst out and cut people into pieces and when the (literally) bleeding heart left wanted them outlawed, the Conservatives never made it a "political issue".
Agree
yes as well as most of George Carlins work.
And it always pops up after another school shooting

this is the best TED Talk i've ever seen.
Pardon my ignorance... but what's TED?
TED stands for Technology , Entertainment , and Design. It's a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the spreading of ideas. There's a bunch of the talks on KZhead.
Vinny Taranova I love TED Talks. I’ve never known what TED stands for.
It's my pleasure.

This is the most logical thing ive ever watched on gun control, and it's a fucking stand-up.
ikr
Comedians are some of the most logical people because you have to understand the world to make jokes about it.
Don't underestimate comedy. It's one of the most advanced forms of intelligence.
That's why art is important and why right wing humanities are non-existent.
+Drew Layton Fart jokes are best....
This might just be the best piece of comedy writing ever. Flawless arguments, and every punchline lands with impeccable timing.
Are you talking about the comments section? Jim was pretty good too....
Jim Jeffries is awesome. Saw him live at the Tivoli theatre in Brisbane, think the tickets were less than $30. He was brilliant. The fight in the lobby that someone turned fire extinguishers on was pretty good value, like a free extra after the show! His rapier wit, impeccable delivery, (even half cut, actually the drunker he gets the funnier he is!) and the whole ‘dumb Aussie party guy’ schtick all add up to a great show,
There are counter arguments, and they're very substantial. Jim is hilarious, but doesn't make a great argument.
"You know what's good about the musket? It gives you a lot of time to calm down!" ROTFPMSL!!!
'' If you have 34000$, you don't need to be a criminal...you're a great little saver keep going''
Scurello3 that’s only the case in the US he kinda literally said that...
Nicolas Rubbo ok Dave Ramsey.
@Scurello3 To paraphrase, he said, 'In the US you can order a gun from Walmart for $1000, while, in Australia the same gun would cost you $34000 on the black market.'
@mshesh16 Then why are mass shootings not being committed with homemade guns in Australia?
mshesh16 No he’s making a valid point, why there are no mass shootings with homemade guns in countries with gun control? Could it be that machining a gun is something that is beyond the reach of the insane? Or the common thug? Here in Canada there was a case where it happened and the guy got caught because he did it with borrowed equipment. Turns out having the right tools is harder than getting a gun on the black market...
"If you can't change something called an 'amendment,' you need a thesaurus more than you need a constitution." FUCKING BRILLIANT!
We could remove the 2nd Amendment, at least in theory, but we would still have the right. We don't have the right because of the 2nd Amendment. We have the 2nd Amendment because we have the right, and this is true of all the rights recognized in the Bill of Rights. The only difference if we removed the 2nd Amendment would be that government could then legally infringe the right to keep and bear arms, but a government that can legally infringe rights is not a legitimate government. The Bill of Rights is a limit on government power.

When you really look into it the reason why many vices were criminalized in the first place is because criminalizing vices empowered the collaboration between intelligence agencies, police, and mafia organizations. The C.I.A. works primarily within the underworld of countries around the world (as the F.B.I. does domestically) as people within it are vulnerable and compromised and therefore easily recruited, protected status can be granted, and dirt can be collected to gain leverage on people who look for their vices there, gaining intelligence agencies leverage on people within legal organizations they wish to infiltrate in foreign countries.
And in fact, Australia has now (2022) more licensed shooters and registered firearms than ever before with no corresponding rise in gun crime whatsoever. We must be doing something right!

Why wouldn't it? America ain't gonna change
I love the way he says Austraya
That's the normal way to say it mate!! Americans say it weird
you'll find most Australians say the word more Oz-trail-ya. Or you know.. just straya ;D
without the AU...Australians just say Straya
Like when Arnold says Califonya
That's "Ah-nuld" to ya ;)
7:08 Muskets are AWESOME! You know what's good about the musket, it gives a load of time to calm down JJ starts loading a musket. This was hilarious!!!!
6:54 Good idea, that's why civilians should be allowed to own drones as well.
Watch this after each massacre. Needless to say I’ve watched it too many times.
In regards to comedians holding up mirrors, this is one of the best sketches I ever saw.
It takes an outsider to speak the bleeding obvious
Outsiders all over the world have been talking about this exact thing for years. I almost feel like we're more concerned about what happens to Americans than the Americans who defend the second amendment (even after mass shootings).
You are. Those assholes only care about themselves.
so true
cristop5 see the thing is, everyone that isn't from America is saying the same thing as this guy.
many Americans agree, and understand that owning guns does not make you American
3:23 "I take drugs like a fuckin champion"😂 the look on his face and the tone in his voice😂
sorta like a mans asshole, i love it
@@brozius.I bet you do John
Best i‘ve ever heard about the american gun mania. Spectacular.
“You’re bringing guns to a drone fight!” Talk about a fucking massacre, Jesus.
Taliban, look them up
Is that why America lost 2 guerrilha conflicts in less than 100 years?
@@scaryterry0108 and left a trail of millions of dead, yes.
@@godofspacetime333 well, my argument for the ability to own guns i wouldn’t say is unique to myself but it doesn’t defend any nonsensical claims about self defense. But yes, the ability to defend one’s life is a reason however I enjoy collecting firearms from different eras in history. My favorite era is the Cold War and both East and west conceived excellent firearms many of which today are collectors items. Firearms are a living piece of history and studying the way they were engineered and the tasks they were built to accomplish can really reveal the mindset and diference in tactics and doctrine of both sides. Collecting firearms is an incredible hobby and people that do it truly provide us with an opportunity to see, feel and use very interesting pieces of the past.
I was in a gun argument on Twitter at one point, and I told someone, "There have been several amendments made since the original Constitution," and then they said I was an asshole and blocked me, and boy, did I feel schooled by that woman!
What amendment takes away one of the first 10 bill of rights?
@@nathanjames9358 Article V exists. Not complicated.
Wow, she sure got you! :D
@@nathanjames9358 the 28th
Yes there has been multiple amendments made but none regarding an enumerated right tied tot he identity of the country. The phrasing of "you can't change the second amendment" is never taken to be literal.
Came here after Uvalde. This guy will be immortalised as long as guns still exist in America and the massacres continue indefinitely. Truly genius.
Here we are again
He's really got that American accent nailed
It's not difficult as American TV shows are everywhere
American accents are easy to do.
Jim is like the rest of us in Australia. We all see it like this, we shake our heads in utter disbelief every time there is another shooting and more children die!.
Since when did you speak on our entire behalf exactly?
The political gun nut UK agrees buddy :))
Nanifa at no point did anyone mention enjoyment, but do carry on
Yep. Every sane Australian shakes their head in both despair and disgust whenever a new US shootings occurs. And we never have to wait long for the next one. OP may not speak for all of Australia, but I believe he speaks for the overwhelming majority. The US's unhealthy and reckless obsession with firearms is something most other countries simply do not understand. Japan has a very high percentage of firearm owners. But the types of guns available to them are very restricted, and they have to pass strict safety training etc. to obtain their licence. They have a lot of guns, and practically no gun crime - because the citizens believe in gun control and gun safety and are responsible.
Japan does not have very high gun ownership. I have been there and been involved with hunting there.
No matter how many times I watch this it still cracks me up. It's so true and funny as Hell
"you're bringing guns to a drone fight!!" this guy gets it.
So I’ll get a drone
red32303 one of those pissant commercial drones that cost a couple hundred dollars ? Compared to.. multi million dollar death machine designed drones.... you’re fucked
No populace to control if drones wipe out every town that doesn't want to get in line.
i bet your a geinus whos going to bring tanks and f-22's stop the control of a populace.
Mike Tran Bobby Boucher The issue with guys such as your, and Jim Jefferies', arguments is you flatly, and ignorantly assume that people enter into civil armed conflicts, either with their government or an ideological opposition, because they think they can "win", without considering many do so because they'd rather die than continue living under what they perceive as state oppression or tyranny. Question: have you ever, in your entire life, put your life on the line for anything/anyone? I'm not trying to give you some trip here, I'm just genuinely wondering.
"If you don't like it go home... If you don't like it go home, If you don't like it go home" "And my answer is... no". LOL
Then it must not be so bad
Haha so funny. Just as funny as the last time I watched this after a mass shooting... And the time before that... And the time before that... And the time before that...
Yeah. I am on my 5th watch. I downloaded subtitles and made points so I can make any republican begin seething like crazy in twitter comments lol. Also crested a bot and send this link to pro gun accounts. 12k links sent. It's not much. But it's an honest job.
I watch it every time there is a tyrannical government killing and imprisoning its citizens for not agreeing with it
@@two_kopecks Now see this is the entire problem, people like you who think ANY kind of gun control is tyranny. We just want to stop children from dying in schools.
There is a common, fundamental and dangerous misinterpretation of the Second Amendment and corresponding Article 8. The "militia" of the amendment isn't to protect the people from a tyrannical government. The militia (says Article 8) serves at the pleasure of Congress; it is to provide support to the standing army in the event of invasion or other emergency.
"If you don't like it go home!" God you are spot on !!! I am a man form the US, born in Detroit, yes Detroit! and you nailed this "gun thing" perfectly.
+Josh S I know, right? The "gun thing". I mean, it's like said ALL the time, but it's like nobody noticed that so many people say it ALL the time. Imagine the brilliance it takes to notice the obvious. By the way, I live near Detroit. I'm not so sure I'd be bragging if I were you.
+toranamunter he didn't like it so he went home. I heard rape in America was so bad even guys often get raped, like 1 in 30 get raped or get attempted raped. Take it Detroit is bad for that then. Funny can't remember that scene in 8 mile or robocop.
Most of the illegal guns in Detroit come from the neighbouring states where guns are less regulated and you can easily transport them Same goes for Mexico, 90% of the guns used by the criminals com from neighbouring Murica, from all of those little guns that get lost by "responsible gun owners" Fuck
@@XavierbTM1221 so what would you do with the 400 million guns already in the US?

@Steve S you had a loud mouthed orange comedian as president you fool.
Just to be clear. Australians can and do own guns. We just restrict semi automatic assault rifles. If a a 10 round pump like a Remington 7600 is not enough weapon for you then you are hunting the wrong animals 🇦🇺👍🏻
... and you need a legitimate reason to own one (protection doesn't count)
Rationalist Society the second amendment isn’t about hunting animals, so...
The only purpose for assault weapons is to hunt and slaughter as many people as possible. Americans demonstrate how effective this is every week or so!
Gary Plummer well where do you stop? Under the term “assault weapon” that applies to rifles, shotguns and pistols. So are you gonna van all of them? And, criminals demonstrate that every week, criminals that get their guns illegally and use them in gang crime
