  • Obese for years following medical advice, on pills but no changes to my declining health until I found your channel and started listening to Dr. Jason Fung's advice. I lost 65lbs in 4months, reduced my A1c from 11.7 to 6.2, reduced liver damage markers in half. Thank you!!!!

  • I was diagnosed with non alcoholic steatosis at 35. I was very active cycling 200 miles a week and jogging 30 miles a week. I was so confuse and didn't want to be a liver transplant candidate and made changes to my diet by aggressively cutting sugar out from my diet. Within a year my enzymes went back to normal and I haven't had any issues. It's amazing what diet can do to your body.

    • he's a nephrologist from Toronto, Canada--many of his kidney disease patients also had type 2 diabetes and couldn't lose weight--he set up a weight management program centered on intermittent fasting (and when you're diabetic you have to be carefully monitored)--many of his patients have been able to get rid of most of their meds as their weight decreased-he is getting a lot of "grief" from these diet companies (Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig etc.)--because the diet industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and his advice will cut into their profits (fasting doesn't cost anything, and it's far better than what they offer)

  • I just have to share my fatty liver story (this is before I knew about your channel)! I had gotten a CT scan (post chemo check up) and the oncologist said that I had the beginnings of fatty liver disease and "watch what you eat." Well, that didn't tell me much! I went to my friend, who's a nutritionist, and asked him what to do. He told me it was a carb problem, not a fat problem, as you might think from the name of the disorder. I worked to improve my diet by lowering total carbs, avoiding bad carbs, etc. Fast forward to my next CT scan. Fatty liver GONE! It can be done! I so appreciate all your educational information. I recommend you to friends all the time. (And I'm in love with Rose!) Thank you for this video!

  • Just diagnosed with fatty liver and gallstones. Found Dr Fung a few days ago, also Dr Ken Berry. First thing MD said was to see a GI specialist to check the liver further, and have surgery to remove the gallbladder. I said no to both - despite having been a nurse for 47 years, I know that the medical profession would rather prescribe a pill or do surgery than actually treat the underlying problem. Same with my type 2 DM - I control it without meds or insulin, am on a modified keto diet, but about to go full bore. Thanks for letting us know about the substitute spaghetti types. Love your vids.

Protein powders make her sick. She's 115lbs 5'5". Collarbone look like swimming pools empty. Horrifying. Doc says normal aging. HELP

    • End stage renal failure? Good Lord! At that point how is food going to help? My mother died of end-stage failure and by that time really nothing could be done. Just saying I love Bobby but he’s not a doctor.

    • @@elizabethreed5648 It’s been several months since you posted, and I hope your mom hasn’t wasted away. If she tolerates meats and fish well, her focus should be small, frequent high-protein meals. Yogurt, meats, fish, eggs. If she can tolerate some fat, include some fattier cuts and fish. Minimize or skip the carbs and sugars. They’re much harder to digest after gastrectomy and do nothing for providing nutrition. If she’s able to lift any weights, even light ones, that would greatly help her put on a bit of muscle. Muscle loss in aging is a huge factor in loss of mass, strength, bone mass, and affects overall longevity.

    • It is probably mostly the same as the diet he is saying here. He probably would recommend riced cauliflower or zucchini noodles. I know i ate almost exactly how he is describing here when i had gestational diabetes. Ate 6 times a day. Smaller portions. No carbs besides from vegetables mostly. I am not the biggest fan of fruit but i did eat some watermelon. Its mostly just water though. 😂 anything with high carbohydrates will turn to sugar and feed disease.

  • 1980 is around the time food companies started using HFCS as a sugar replacement, first only in drinks like soda but it became more and more prevalent as time passed. The imbalance of fructose and sucrose causes excess strain on the liver and heightened fat storage, and since most mainstream processed foods (especially condiments) contain it, regular consumption leads to insulin resistance, then metabolic syndrome, NAFLD and diabetes.

    @TR47@TR472 жыл бұрын
    • What are your thoughts on monkfruit sweetener with stevia? I'm still not sure I'm doing this right. BUT, the last bag of sugar I bought was 3years ago. I call that improvement.🤔🙄😊

      @yogiegemini2053@yogiegemini20532 жыл бұрын
    • It's not just high fructose corn syrup. Is HFCS horrible? Yes, yes it is. You have to keep in mind agave has way more fructose ,and honey has similar if not the same fructose to glucose ratio as HFCS. So if you think you're doing yourself a favour by using honey, coconut sugar, dates, maple syrup, etc. You're not. Not only that, folks used to cook with ghee before Crisco came in the 1920's. Those oils are absolute garbage there's just no other way around it. Low and behold a bunch of companies use it because it's cheap. Artificial flavors, colors, phosphates and benzoate, ultra processed cheap items, and more have done this.

    • Amazing that one person at Coca-Cola who decided they should switch to HFCS to increase profits would create such profound harm to the health of an entire nation.

      @mermer58@mermer58 Жыл бұрын
    • @@mermer58I doubt it's because of Coca-Cola. HFCS is in so many foods and drinks, it's because of lobbying by corn farmers and is also the reason why gasoline is blended with ethanol made from.... Corn.

It has been years ago now when a family member was studying to become a family doctor (now practicing for years) discovered that chemical citric acid was possibly detrimental to brain health.
