This man lives 25 minutes from me, I have always wanted to visit! What a cool experience to have raised these bears.
I cannot imagine having the privilege of caring for a creature like this.
Agee starred in her final film in 2023 - the Canadian science-fiction film 'Polaris', which features a fitting end - her character turns into Ursa Major at the end of the film, thus immortalizing the polar bear star as literal stars. After Mark was no longer able to care for her, she moved to the Assiniboine Zoo in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I hope she is doing well there and Mark can visit.
To Mark's Wife and Agee's mom...thank you for taking care of both of them and loving them.
Polar bears are so beautiful, magical, and wonderful. May they rein in their snow kingdom forever.

This is like me and my boy, Jack. A sharpei & Boxer mix pup. I got axtremly close with him. He can be off leash and stay by my side, listens to commands etc, only barks for me when he misses me or knows I'm around when he's in his kennel. Best bloody relationship with an animal I've ever had, and Jack has really helped me through my dad's passing and opened up my heart. People are becoming pretty nasty but animals, animals never change and their hearts will always be pure enough to let you in if you show them kindness and open your heart to them.
What a blessing he had to have relationship like this. Hope it’s all ended well.

Agee is a gorgeous girl! I’d never get close to a bear in general, but that’s something special right there. Especially with it being a polar bear.

its not a matter of polar bears being "mean"....they live in areas with little food and its hard to get..if they're hungry they're gonna eat most anything.

As huge as Agee is, male polar bears weigh about twice as much as females! 😳
Although specifically with her peak weight of 360kg, males are about half as heavy again, on average.

Agee is the the Assiniboine park zoo in Winnipeg MB Canada. At the time she was transferred there in May of 22 there were 10 polar bears. So she has lots of company maybe she'll even find a boyfriend however because she has not been associated with polar bears ever I believe that they are keeping her away from the other bears hopefully she will become friends with them eventually.
She is an angel if you know that Polar bears are the most solitary animals in the world. So in the wild if one meets the other it's for mating or death duel.

The problem with raising a mammal from an infant is that they can imprint sexually on humans. That's one of the reasons dogs are kept with their mother for a certain amount of time before given to their owners. It's possible Aggie sees Mark as her mate and is jealous of competitors. But I'm glad it works out for them.

What happened to agees momma ?
She was living in a zoo and was too old to properly care for Agee when she was a cub, so the zoo let Mark take her and raise her for the film industry. The channel Animal Adventures has a video on Agee, Mark and Dawn that gives a little bit of their history.

I would be curious to know if Agee didn't eat her owners is because she never hunted. Zoos try to mimic natural environments and will put fish in the pools for the polar bears to hunt. It boggles my mind that the polar bear didn't eat this guy.

You’re insane. I’ve known them since I was a kid and they are wonderful people and this bear was loved incredibly.
Considering the expense of funerals and also the large number of people that die in the prison system, would it not be possible to feed the bear chopped-up humans? You obviously want to chop them up so he doesn't associate your smell with food. I just think it would help with all the human meat that goes to waste.

@@evanli421 - I agree. Human meat could be fed to dogs. There are already plans to feed insects to humans to be able to provide enough protein to the growing global population. We reached 8 billion this year. If we are going to keep millions of meat-eating dogs as pets humans die it seems sensible to stop wasting all that human meat and start using it as animal feed. Probably not for animals that people eat as they will get upset about that but as pet feed. Some humans could be turned into fertiliser to create more arable land. I just trying to find ways of helping the planet. Burning humans causes pollution and burying them when there isn't enough land for homes in Europe is absurd.
@@tabasdezh - When you are eating insects and the rich are feeding meat to their pets you'll be far more open to recycling humans as animal feed. Mostly dead ones obviously. some that are just not contributing to the workforce or criminals but mostly they would already be dead. Well, they'd be dead by the end of the process.
