  • I mean, there is an argument that, if Ronda had a real coach instead of a bum like Edmond Tarverdyan, and if Ronda didn't buy into her own hype and convince herself that she's a boxer cause she knocked out the tin can that was Bethe Correia, maybe she'd have had a chance to beat Holly. But we don't live in that world. We live in the world where Ronda had a bad coach, let her ego get the better of her and tried to box with probably the most accomplished female striker in mma history. Holly is and was the better fighter. Not only did she beat Ronda, but whenever Holly lost, she went right back to the gym, learned from it and improved. When Ronda lost, she cried, freaked out, left mma, came back, demanded a title shot with an even better fighter than Holly; Amanda Nunes, got bonked even worse, freaked out worse and then ran away again, for good this time. Holly is a warrior, Ronda is very significant in women's mma history, no doubt, but she's a drama queen and an egomaniac.

As time progresses the sport and athletes evolve, so at some point you're going to get your ass kicked. The trick is to be humble in victory as well as defeat, unfortunately Ronda didn't do that.
