Its so strange to see a newspaper from Thüringen in your Chateau my homeland. I wish us all peace and leaders who seek it.
You have your very own historical treasure. How exciting to see everything you're discovering.
Your chateau is so beautiful and you are going about restoring her beauty in the proper way. It is such a privilege to watch your journey. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!
I love everything to do with this channel, the stunning Chateau, it's restoration, it's history, and all the sensitive and hard work going into it. That said, the banging piano does get on my nerves.
Dear Tim, if I may, the duc d'Orléans was not the Louis XV's brother, but his cousin 🙂 Louis XV had no brother or sister 🙂 The Orléans family took its roots from Louis XIV's brother, Philippe (1640/1701). The Orléans were the richest family in France. Apart from that, as I wrote on an other video, congratulations and thanks for the passion you have in this huge work of restoration. You and your wife are just wonderful and amazing ! You bought probably one of the most exquisite and beautiful château in France.
Great wallpaper, it nearly jumps out in 3D effect.
I would be terrified to climb that tower!!
To have the opportunity to live where your grandpa loved is its own treasure. I'm looking forward to your journey!
It’s so lovely that there are people like you to save these a beautiful buildings. Love all the mystery involved in the paintings, and all the gorgeous clothing still intact. But mostly the care and love you have for the preservation of the history and the stories that belong to this chateau.
Wonderful to be able to trace the history, and to find the evidence of the fire screens and old copper kitchen ware, the old newspapers... and the wallpapers that tell the story too. Very precious. The Chateau is going to be beautiful. What a wonderful project.
Been french am amazed by your love and vision and of course courage for this forgotten gem... Your study and research of it's history was fascinating to watch... Thank you so much for all you are sharing... I guess only two visionary crazy aussies could have taken this project of love on. " Bon courage mes amis" !
Thank you! 😃
I admire your taking the challenge of restoration so much work required and very deep pockets.
What a truly beautiful and most precious blog… The work you guys are doing is really breathtaking. We need more people like you in this precious world. With all of our love from Scotland 🏴 Xxxxxxx
thank you so much x
congratulations for this very well edited video. It must have taken a lot of time to do. thank you !
Fantastic to hear the history.
The thing I love most about the stately homes and Chateaux of France, are their incredible stories! They are architecturally stunning and beautiful indeed but their stories and living history is always so intriguing! I have owned and restored two16th century homes in France, so I relate to your journey so much. I too left Australia to pursue that dream back in the 90s and shall never forget those incredible years! Best wishes for your continuing journey and bravo! 🥰🏰♥️
we completely agree - the stories of those who lived in these properties helps bring them back to life x
@ It absolutely does. It's so beautiful watching your work and your passion. Bravo!
Stunningly beautiful and amazing history. That blue and white wall paper was just gorgeous and almost looked 3D. Thank you for letting me come along on your journey.
You are so welcome
i am glad that you are so interested in the history of the chateau and the french revolution. to find originals as well - that is an irreplaceable treasure
we love discovering the history of the château ... it plays an important role in its future x
Exceptional historical information. So interesting. Beautiful place. This place deserves the restoration you are giving it. Wonderful that you have the capacity to do so, it must cost more to restore than it cost to originally build it. I plan to enjoy your adventure. Thank you for sharing. All the best to you from Memphis, TN, USA
pleasure - thanks for joining us
Love to see this home.
La France c'est le plus beaux livres d'histoire
Merci beaucoup pour votre message!
An excellent vlog. I am very impressed by your attention to the long and interesting history of the Chateau. Cheers from Toronto
thank you
Would be interesting to establish a mini museum in the Chateau.
Wow...what a well produced and fascinating episode. The château has such a wonderful history and I look forward to seeing the restoration.
glad you enjoyed it
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the history of the Chateau and those wallpapers are just exquisite. Sending good wishes from NSW Australia.
What a phenomenal preservation job you are doing at Chateau du Purloin! I've been following your IG posts for some time but these vids on KZhead are just spectacular. Thank you for sharing this journey with all of us!
thank you so much
I love history and hearing the history of your chateau is so interesting.
thank you
Beautiful chateau.
This was a fascinating encapsulation of the history of Château de Purnon. Knowing the story of the previous owners really does even further enhance my interest in the restoration of the château. What a journey you are on - well done indeed!
Our pleasure!
Fantastic episode of the history of this chateau. I truly enjoyed it! Well done!
thank you so much
Thank you so much for that fabulous lesson. Really loved how you showed the coat of arms, but what do all the symbols stand for?
Thank you for bringing this grand dames history alive.
Through these quirky everday items you recreate the human angle, how generations of people lived and died at the chateau. And those German newspapers..! Incredible.
Great video depicting a colorful and rich history. I look forward to seeing more
G'day. Thank you for that , fascinating to hear a little of the history of the Chateau, as i'm sure there was a great deal more colour to it. Thank goodness you are saving such a fine piece of French history, and a beautiful chateau. Good luck with the restoration.
thank you so much
Great presentation and so well explained. Thank you for sharing. God bless on your massif endeavour.
Love the history lesson. What a privilege to restore this historical treasure. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
pleasure! thank you for joining us!
Amazing Chateau. Can you have the main entrance come through the beautiful gates again? Looking for to seeing your restoration.
Thanks Debbie. Potentially - we are in the process of assessing this at the moment.
Fascinating. SO many "old world" clues. The shields...reveal a great amount of information. The wallpaper in the ground floor dressing room; very interesting historical information regarding commerce and the governmental machinations that impacted the economy of France. I am quite taken by your channel and how you are progressing with restoration and sharing that progress. There is a greater focus on the actual RESTORE-ation process, and discovering the reasons, and the relationship between different aspects of your discoveries. I look forward to following your dedicated progress, and learning. #wakinganoldwoman #battlesfought #winsandlosses #commerce #mercury #vivelafrance #enguarde #allforoneandoneforall #Dartagnion (sp?) 😅 That wind turbine is wild! What other "antiquitech" have you discovered?
they could have boarded a zepplin from up on that turbined. why not?
@@3ForestAnimals I think you're on to something...!
Yes! If ever there was "steampunk" on a grand scale that wind turbine would be it! ...did it generate electricity or pump water? ...or both? It almost looks like something Nicholas Tesla could have invented!
Excellent information, thanks!!!
pleasure
Hi Tim and Flik, I loved learning the history in this video! Incredible how it has passed down through so many people, and changed families at times due to marriage and death. I am fascinated how you manage restoring the chateau whilst having to involve French preservation societies (and funding I guess). I hope they allow you to keep moving and not stifling you with bureaucracy. Maybe that just happens in Australia 😂🤪. Such a grand project will require a lot of time, and I am proud that a hard working Aussie couple have taken on this incredible project xx Kelly from Melbourne xx
right, they are sharing actual history. incredible,
I thoroughly enjoyed this!
thank you so much
What a magnificent document of Purnon’s history. Thank you for sharing this very well done video. The wallpapers are stunning and so well preserved, it’s hard to believe that they’re nearly 300 years old. I am excited to follow your journey of this spectacular chateau so rich in history. You can now take your place in the archives of Purnon during an age when so many are going to ruin.
What fabulous stories about Purnon! Thank you for generously sharing them. Do keep them coming. Hugely curious.......
Amazing! Loved the beautiful film and capture of the history. You all are doing a superb job. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful video with a lot of history!!!!!!!
Thank you for this vlog. Was very interesting. Good luck with the restoration it is an enormous undertaking. Please keep vlogging about it as it is such a beautiful building and will be so good to watch its transformation.
Very interesting history if only this beautiful chateau could speak xx
So true! We are slowly finding her voice and sharing it x
I got tiles from your roof , love the history of them!
Absolutely fascinating history!! All the elements are there for historical romance/ tragedy and love and war- I was entranced with your narration and knowledge. Thank you so much for sharing the history and your home, Merci, Danke and ☺️ Rose, Austin, Texas ❤️
Thank you for taking time to document and share. Wonderful walk through chateau history.
Fascinating historical importance …looking forward to your chateau journey….I m assuming that you will be eligible for any grants to maintain and repair this building
Amazing! Keep up with the restoration of all this historical mansion.
You had me absolutely riveted. Im going to be restless waiting for more.😁👍
thank you so much x

Fascinating history...Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
Incredible history and you both enthralled me by telling it so well. I look forward to the renovations and perhaps more stories.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hello - New sub here and completely enthralled. The chateau is so very fortunate to have you both as its next chapter and much needed restoration. What I think is a question is traditionally ,historically a chateau would be very much generational and I wonder how that would translate now . It will be an answer that can only be answered by time . You have found a true masterpiece and it seems to have been protected from graffitti and invasion by those that would do harm. So much of its story is still there . I am looking forward to watching and I like you, am in love with all of it.
Thanks for joining us!
@ Pleasure is totally mine ...
I have fallen into the KZhead spell of watching restorations of French chateau’s channels 😍 Subscribed to your channel a while back and binge watched. Thank you for another post. Watching from Australia 🇦🇺
thank you for following along x
When it comes to the garden you should plant some Rosa de La Haye
great idea we will absolutely do that!
That was so interesting! Thank you for sharing everything you have discovered about this beautiful building. It is truly a treasure of French Heritage. ♥
What an amazing history Purnon had! Looking forward to it’s future lead you two & the work of many. Be well and stay safe! Love from America, Doc🇺🇸
Thank you! You too!

This episode was so beautifully and respectfully done. You have a new subscriber in Istanbul.
Thank you so much and welcome!
This video is so interesting. What a history. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic history amazing history amazing place hope to have updates
thanks for joining us
Love what you're doing to the roof..a complete renovation. Brilliant!
Absolutely fascinating!
Delahaye? The famous luxury car brand? How about some garage space at the chateau?..... 😎
Love love love the channel. The music is so distracting however. It's the same 16 bars over and over again. Will stay a loyal fan. But change the music please?😳😬♥️
thanks for joining us and for your feedback
The music is also too loud in contrast with the volume of the speaking segments.
Nice music in the beginning but so very annoying when play right through the video . You dont need music , most videos overplay music and are destroying our pleasure . You get more irritated as you go along . I am trying to explain how it feel . The best site are where you dont even notice they play anything , because they play very little music , but the repetitive one is the worst . Having said this , l realy enjoye your story of this chateau , very interresting and very well told by both of you . It was perfect historically and the photos of the chateau as it was beautiful. I realy want to see more but l wil have to take the sound off sorry . Send love from Australia .
I like the consistency of the theme music. Use headphones to establish a set measurements for volumes for each sound track; speech and music. I loved editing classes. I like your production choices. It has a great style. I appreciate your hard work, style and attention to detail in both camera work and editing. Beautiful job.
Yes the music makes a nice intro ...but then maybe transition to actual period-music that represents each epoch of the house and the music that the inhabitants would have listened to or even played themselves at the time. It would be wonderful if they found a period pre-revolutionary harpsichord or clavichor to put in one of the larger salons.
Great vlog love history thanks for sharing
Fascinating history - Thanks for this...
Alors...
@@didierjacob250 Merci
What a history your chateau had.
What a wonderful video, thanks for taking the time to put it together. The history is amazing and so interesting. Of course it adds to the beauty of your chateau. Thank you for being such amazing stewards and ambassadors. You both are incredible people for stepping up to rescue this incredible labor of love known as Purnon.
