Some could even bring a tear to the eye, as strongly as she shows her feelings for this place. Let me put it this way: If it isn't real passion for history that I'm seeing, she's the best actor I've seen in a very long time. I'm so glad I found this channel, and especially this video! ❤❤

You see it when she talks too, when she’s in the tombs so full of awe and joy. You can tell she truly loves what she’s doing and it’s honestly really cool to watch. This was when exhibitions went all over the world so we, who couldn't get to Egypt, could gaze in wonder at that which is Egypt. I stood in front of the iconic golden mask of King Tutankhamun, no further away than one foot! I witnessed mummies. I was close enough to see their eyelashes and fingernails. I saw their jewelry, pottery, statues that were so highly polished that you could see your reflection as clearly as if it were glass. One of the most breathtaking things I saw were the hieroglyphics beautifully displayed for viewing. I could go on and on, but I want to get back to this video.

I've never been able to describe this properly, it just feels so familiar, as if I have been there . One day I know I will go there and it will be like home.

  • This is really fascinating and wonderfully explained. Thank you. Question tough: believing in the after life is one aspect but why did the egyptians believe they needed to preserve their body to achieve immortality?

    @olympiahendrix4392@olympiahendrix4392 Жыл бұрын
    • It was integral in ancient Egyptian beliefs that the body had to be preserved so it could cross over to the afterlife. So mummifying bodies was a ritual that could not be ignored--otherwise the soul of said body would not traverse and would then get stuck in a type of purgatory. People didn't want that, so they mummified.
