An “Anyone’s Game” final Jeopardy. The best type.
Great question. Didn't get it. I thought 1984. Here's to the Chief!
Thought 1948 too
Great question. I glad I didn't have to sleep on it.
Two left handed players tonight. Awesome!
This is one of those questions where I didn't know the answer but I learned something very cool! Way to go, Clue Crew!
Comment to prevent spoilers.
The word Conformity. I thought I had it with “A Clockwork Orange” but…. “Nest” makes more sense.
Also thought 1984... bummer lol
My guess was Brave New World.
1984 is a fine Van Halen album 🎸
I’ll wait til your love comes down to ease the seat back against the record machine where my homework was never quite like this!
I feel so bad for the second place finisher
SPOILERS This is the first time that Monica got an incorrect FJ response, giving Sam a win.
I was stumped on this one. I went with The Sun Also Rises as a last second guess knowing I was wrong.
My guess was handmaid‘s tale.
Got it!
Guessed right on this one! Last sentence was the only thing that gave any specification for me
Congratulations sam on advancing to the semi finals
I picked the man in the grey flannel suit
Sparse clue. Still not sure what the reference is.
You don’t tell me, Toys “R” Us? 😂😂😂
I also was thinking _1984_ but I ultimately chose _Women and Children First_ instead. (RIP, Eddie.) 🎸
If you didn't know the title at the beginning of the music, and it came to you near the end, you would never have gotten it written in time. My two answers were their two answers, which makes me feel good, but still not the right answer.
What's the significance of 4801? I've seen it wagered before
1984 was just too obvious so that couldn’t be it, but “stonily silent” made it a tough one.
yeah, that was my first thought, too. But I don't think 1984 had a narrator. So I went with A Clockwork Orange - which I've never read, only seen.
Monica's interview was odd. She said her research showed people remember things better if they picture where they were when they learned something. Is that seriously new? Don’t we all do that instinctively?
It's not new, but it's also not something we all do instinctively. Many people don't often remember where they learn things, just like many people don't deliberately use memory palaces.
It's called "source blindness" and it's pretty normal.
SPOILER for who won, but not for the content of the question … . . . Why did Ken say the second place contestant was in first for now? Was that just a random mistake that proved right?
I think it was just supposed to mean "leading among people with answers revealed" and not be a spoiler of any kind.
I got it right and no one was more shocked than me as it was a guess based on the “cruelty and conformity” phrase which reminded me of Nurse Ratchet.
Fun fact: This is the first time a champion won by $1 since game 4 of the Tournament of Champions Finals when Ben Chan bet everything and doubled up to $25,600 while Troy bet the standard cover over Yogesh and answered wrong, dropping him down to $25,599. This is also the first time a player came ahead of an opponent by $1 since game 6 of the Tournament of Champions Finals when Ben Chan bet everything and doubled up, putting him at $6,400 and Troy Meyer bet the standard cover over Yogesh and answered wrong, dropping him to $6,399.
An absolutely atrocious FJ. Poorly written, extremely vague and basically one where you just have to write and pray that you're correct. Overall though, solid match! Sam pulling that win out of thin air was a pleasant surprise (especially since, as he posted on Reddit, he pulled a back muscle the day before this was filmed), and he got the DD's early enough to where all 3 players were still in contention. It was nice to see Chuck Forrest back too, the OG Jeopardy legend returning is very cool and the fact that he can still play at a decent level even at his age and with his buzzer rust is awesome! Overall, one of my favorite matches this tournament so far.
how is it poorly written?
@@hgb0005 Far too vague. The snippet of the review doesn't give us anywhere near enough information to pin down *which* 20th century novel about cruelty and conformity it refered to (there are a lot). You either needed to know the exact working of a very specific review to know the particular book (unreasonable) or like the other guy said, take a guess and pray.
@@zacharyanderson3791 i didnt know the answer......but im not a great Jeopardy player (as a viewer) ....also novels are not my area....... but youre leaving out a part of the clue........a 'stonily silent narrator' seems important........at least enough to where you don't need to know the exact wording of a review or just take a guess.........seems to be why Jennings explained that part of the clue when revealing the right answer
Since three top level Jeopardy players all got this wrong, you’re right, the clue was too hard. 0:04
“Cruelty “ and “stonily silent” were enough to give me the answer within the given time. It also helps that I read the book in high school.
I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right.
I think that was a poorly written question
Chief bromdon, Sam is a semifinals. Congratulations 🎉
Chief Bromden is not the answer.
@@PhysicsMathandMe I have no idea why these people just copy and paste whatever the closed captions give them as the first thing Ken says as the correct question.
@@ezioaltairac I think this is a bot, and not a very good one at that
