After how much everyone enjoyed my first brick bowl, I just had to try another. This time, I set the bricks running around the circumference of the bowl by gluing them to a wooden core before pouring in the green epoxy resin. Had a bit of a nerve-wracking moment when I began mixing the resin, as you'll see in the video. Normally, you can expect your hardener to have a slight yellow tint to it as it ages, but this was REALLY yellow. I had not no idea whether it was going to cure or just ruin all the hard work I'd already put into making the blank. It all ended well, though! After turning it down, I finished the piece with Waterlox's original gloss. What do you think?

This is honestly one of the coolest concepts for a bowl design that I've ever seen.
I was just about to say ^^ amazing
Not good for soup.
Me too.
Srsly, the thumbnail photo alone got me like 💥
DITTO!!!
Not only is the one of the most gorgeous bowls that I have ever seen, THANK YOU for not playing loud an annoying and distracting music while doing it. This is a work of art and the video well produced. Well done!
That is one of the coolest woodwork projects I have ever seen. Love the floating element.
I've been going down the woodturning rabbithole recently and this the best video production I've come across. The way you clearly present each step in the process and then move on really breaks up the monotony woodturning videos can suffer from. Thank you for sharing your work.
Thank you, David, for the very nice comment!!
Allow me to introduce myself: I am a 100% disabled veteran who ventured into woodturning @ a year ago. I often view what others are creating, using KZhead as a medium. Your work is amazing, but I also appreciate the fact that you don't pretend to be a stand-up comedian, nor do you blast me out with music or other interruptions that distract from your talents. I will be attempting to emulate some of your very artistic creations unless you have copyrights. It would not be for resale but for gifts for the family in this country and my blood relatives in my native Norway. Your thoughts?
Thank you, Ove! My fiance and I actually visited Norway last summer for our very first time. We were there for a little over a week, and we saw Bergen, Stavanger, and we stayed a night or two over in Odda. I think we came at the best time, because we must have seen a million waterfalls from all the snow melt in the fjords. It was just beautiful! And no worries at all on using any of my projects! I get plenty of my own ideas and inspirations from other people's work, so I certainly have no qualms about others taking mine. It's an honour!!
This is the most wholesome exchange I've ever seen on YT and it's truly heartwarming! You two are legends in my book!
Yeah, great stuff….
I’m 100% jealous of the owner of this incredible bowl!!😱❤️😍
The incredibowl.
I'm jealous of the owner's skills
Send you back to the medieval days with your skills and those materials and you would be creating Entire Cathedrals. *Fantastic craftsmanship*
Thank you so much!
@@formanwoodworking Many years ago my late father, god rest his soul, had a large plastering & floor laying company & I ended up serving a 5 year apprenticeship, the last two focusing more on advanced work such as creating Fibrous Ionic, Doric and Corinthian columns and cornice work, et cetera, working in conjunction with carpenters and I've seen many highly skilled tradesmen in my day. Sadly those days have long gone, though my ability to recognise Talent when I see it remains and you Sir surpass the level of a Tradesman you are a True 'Artist'. And an Exceptional one.
Appreciate all the different camera angles! Stuff like this helps me sleep, I mean this in the best way possible. We’ve heard of easy listening, I call this easy watching; no chatter, just wood working, epoxy pouring vibes. Love it.
Thanks, Rebecca, glad you liked it! And I think I know exactly what you mean. I got into this precisely from watching turning videos late at night before bed. They help me sleep too!
It is hypnotic.
Me too!! I need videos like this to switch off before bed. And of course meant in the best way possible, these videos are so relaxing and calming it sends me off to sleep with ease Thank you for the serene content!
love the 3D effect, beautiful result.
Thank you, Daniel! I appreciate the kind words!
That’s real 3d not an effect haha.
@@travisvarga1659 You are right! I stand corrected ;-)
49 years old. Wish I'd learned this. I watch all kinds of woodturning and epoxy videos and am always AMAZED at how super talented everyone is. Once again I've come across beautiful work.
Man, I see a lot of turning stuff on YT, and beauty is all in the eye of the beholder, but once in a while one will stand out, and this one hits me that way. Nice.
Thank you, Leonardo! I appreciate that!
@@formanwoodworking Well earned - So pressure pot, Alumalite? I have a degasser but haven't pulled the trigger on a pot yet.
The 3D effect is stunning! Great work!
Thank you so much!
I swear, I could watch you shave that bowl for hours. It’s hypnotic
I've binged hundreds of wood/resin videos this year and I can confidently say this is one of my favourites! Simple and elegant. Lovely job mate.
Thank you so much!
This is one of the most beautiful bowls I've seen on YT
Of the thousands of wood turning and epoxy videos I’ve watched, this is the coolest yet!
Thank you!
Wow, what a beautiful bowl. I especially liked the way you assembled it. It was a pleasant surprise. Great work.
Thank you so much, Eileen!
I have never seen a bowl done like this before. It looks absolutely amazing! Great design!
Thank you, Paula!
I can’t tell you how much I love this, it’s absolutely beautiful. Wish it was available to purchase
Also, legitimately the coolest bowl I have ever seen.
The exploded 3d look is quite unique and eyecatching! Kudos!
Has to be one of my all-time favorite pieces on KZhead. I want one!
Very beautiful bowl! The "floating" woodpieces looks awesome.
Das ist so dermaßen abgehoben, das übertrifft einen Flug in den Hyperraum! Was für eine tolle Idee! Aber erst die Umsetzung macht es dann noch viel interessanter! Ich kann mich gar nicht satt sehen! Absolute Spitze! Vielen Dank! 👍😎🇦🇹
I'm not normally a big fan of mixed media/segmented bowls but dude... that bowl is spectacular!
That is visually stunning. Technically jaw dropping. Faberge-esk. Respect.
ooo. Definitely very special. Great creativity. I feel there's potential for more. Maybe other objects suspended with wood around them
Turning resin is always hilarious with the strings that fly !
A lot of YT woodturning videos are fun to watch because it's challenging to make, but you wouldn't buy the end result. This one is actually gorgeous. Something that M.C. Escher would find lovely.
I agree with most of the comments. This is one of the coolest concepts for a turned bowl I've ever seen. Masterfully executed as well. 👏
Jeez! That's beautiful. Interesting for the eye to gaze. I'd love lamp shades just like that. The floating blocks tickles the mind. LOL.
I've never seen anything like this and it is beyond beautiful. Excellent work and a great video. Subbed!!
Thank you so much! And thanks for the channel support, I really appreciate it!
I have seen more beautiful that DID NOT WASTE THIS MUCH WOOD!!!!!
That is one of the coolest things I have ever seen
Incredibly BEAUTIFUL. YOU are gifted. Thank you for sharing this. Much respect for your work.
This is the most beautiful bowl I've ever seen. I'd kill to have this!! if it was for sale, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
Breath taking piece! An exquisite combination makes it look like it was blown out of glass.
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
This is just so beautiful, how the wood blocks create this new shadow of green, amazing work.
Thank you so much!
Dam that looks like so much work just for 1 bowl fuck
Possibly the best I’ve ever seen on KZhead. I love it. I want it! 😌😌😌😌
Just found you on reddit, unbelievable work man! This is so gorgeous!!
Thank you, Geordie! I'm glad you like it!
I've watched plenty of wood turning projects. This is simply masterful. Beautiful. Nicely done.
that last product works like magic to me, I'm amazed
It amazes me too, Emma! Definitely a big fan of this finish
The most beautiful resin-wood project Ive ever seen
I hope this channel blows up, you are very creative
Thank you, Michael! That's very kind of you to say
@@formanwoodworking I watch a lot of woodworking and wood turning on KZhead and this was one of the most creative builds I have ever seen. Keep it up
I watch a lot of these wood turning videos and this has to be one of the best results I've seen yet!
Thank you so much, Richard, that's very kind of you!
What an awesome project with a fantastic result, the colour of the epoxy is is perfect for this piece.
What an exquisit design! I find the way the light shines through the epoxy mesmerizing.
Nice job, my friend!! Congratulations\!!!!
Wow, I thought the cinnamon was my fave bit this is breathtaking!!!
Hell ya, I want to make a popcorn bowl like this.
OMG this is the most stunning and awesome lathe turned piece I have ever seen! What an amazing design! It looks like a 3-D optical illusion looking into it. What a great job on this! Nicely Done!!
That bowl is just GORGEOUS!! Truly a work of ART!! 👏😃👏
I too have been binge watching wood turning resin videos. Some are entertaining, most are interesting but yours is outstanding!
Thank you, Dolton!
ABSOULTEY STUNNA!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Absolutely stunning. The combination of the oak and emerald color is truly beautiful and a work of art. Good Show!!!
Oh my, your creativity is astonishing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much!
Beautiful Work!!! ❤💛💚
This is neat. I think it would be great to have a whole dining set made like this...couple more bowls, some plates, a pitcher...
I am at a loss for words.....absolutely amazingly beautiful.
Thank you, Eric!
That is really one of the coolest bowls.
Extremely inspiring. You have given me a whole new set of ideas. This is fantastic!
Thank you so much, Erick!
That is simply stunning! This channel just popped up in my rec's. Wow, I'm going to be binge watching this weekend!! Top notch craftsmanship!
Thanks for the support! I really appreciate it!
One of the prettiest wood works I've seen!
Bravo! Enjoyable video. Thanks for posting.
The finished bowl is obviously very good. The novel concept used here has been lauded already, and I agree with all accolades that can be bestowed upon this project. I want to target the acrylic in my compliment: Specifically, how the color of the acrylic mimics a very specific type of glass. This bowl is much more than just a great concept made manifest. It looks like two different types of building material, made out of two entirely separate other building materials. And to me, this is the real brilliance of this piece and makes it more art than novelty. Great video. Thanks for sharing this with us all. Subscribed.
Wow, thank you for this comment! Made my day! :)
Utterly gorgeous! The 3 dimensional aspect and contrast of materials make this look really cool. ❤
I had not seen the first brick bowl so I went and found it. I like this one better but both are really pretty and stunning. With this one, the wood appears to float magically. Really cool. Really nice work and very imaginative.
Thank you!
You do gorgeous work. Thank you for sharing.☺
I would eat EVERYTHING out of that bowl! Amazing!
my favorite part is when the tool goes quiet and shoots out one long beautiful strand of resin. so satisfying. great choice using clear resin; the drop shadows give this piece so much depth that would have otherwise been lost with more opaque pigments
Thank you so much! And that's my favourite part too :)
Even better watching the process than seeing the photo on Reddit! Still an AWESOME bowl formation! :D
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support!
@@formanwoodworking Absolutely! I hope your channel prospers, you've got a great format!
Literally awesome!!! ❤
Man all your work is on point! I like how you show the carving in real time. Let’s you get a feel of what the pace should be. Awesome!!!!
Thank you so much, Matthew!
I loved it, the simplicity of it all blew me away, really enjoyed the journey.
Probably the best bowl iv ever seen created. Great job 100/10
Thanks, Shane!
Awesome Work.🇺🇸💯
Непостижимо! Спасибо за доставленное удовольствие от пррсмотра.
that is the prettiest bowl ive ever seen. Please keep up the good work
What a gem... one of the coolest designs I have ever seen.
I've seen a couple of videos of bowl making... these vids of epoxy with multiple colors and several varieties of wood cured together prior to turning... I have to say this concept of yours had more class, craft and art to it then all the other videos I had watched of bowl turning...
Thank you!
Now THATS how you use epoxy and wooodturning!
An excellent illusion and well executed.
That looks awesome, a step spiral would making me giddy!
As a wood turning enthusiast, gotta say, that is one stunning piece of art. Very nice work mate.
That is fascinating. Something new.
Stunning 😊
The most beautiful bowl I ever seen until now. Congrats
You make me want to buy a lathe and I have no room for one :( I've watched several of your videos and I'm amazed at how fine your pieces turn out. This design was no exception. From seeing the finished product at the start I was intrigued at how you pull this off and it's explained in sufficient detail right through from start to finish. Thank-you for sharing your wonderful creations.
Thank you so much for the very nice comment!
Beautiful work!
I love the look of this... can't wait til I can get a wood lathe so I can make things like this...
Stunning!
Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing!
Stunning! Wow!
Завораживающее зрелище. Если всмотреться в изделие, оно словно начинает затягивать тебя. Становится интересно, а что там в глубине. Спасибо мастеру за интересное видио

Beautiful work
I recently turned my first bowl, a simple mahogany bowl, and this is a major inspriration for the capabilities of turning
