I love these. Had a set for 3 or 4 years now, whilst everyone around me is always having mic problems, noone has ever complained about my microphone doing anything weird. As for the sound balance, I like the down the middle balance a lot, it's probably the main reason I've stuck with sennheiser for a long time. Maybe it's the kind of music I listen to (j-pop), but I don't want the bass boosted through the roof, it sounds weird, and I don't play many FPS so I don't really want a high pitched balance either. The cable did fail on me once but since it's easily replacable (something I look for in headphones because the cable is always the first thing to fail) I only had to pay for that rather than an entirely new headset. Edit: Oh, and this is a personal thing, but I'm a big hikki so I'm wearing these things almost all day every day and they've never felt uncomfortable, even when wearing them for an entire day straight. If they fit you, they are very comfortable.

Good info! I just switched from the game one to the GSP 500 and put the GSP 600 ear pads on it. I do find the GSP 500 does sound a tad better but with more bulk. But is still comfy

do these have sidetone? (hearing the whats said in the mic), I was planning on getting them since everyone says they are really good and are at a pretty good pricepoint, but i like hearing my voice just to make sure im actually speaking to my teammates and just not being silent lmao Also when you boosted the mic audio quality, was that through a 3rd party tool (software/hardware) or software from Sennheiser directly?
Do you mean pass-through? If so, its not built into the mic but if you have a PC or mixer you can set it up that way. I adjusted from the camera hardware to account how close it is to my face

Thanks for the vid! I'm always looking for better quality, somewhat affordable microphone headset options, and I had actually been looking at this specific headset a couple weeks ago. It's nice to get a first hand and in depth review from someone I trust. I don't mean to be critical, but the microphone on this headset is not great, especially for the price. It sounded very tin canny and oddly muffled. Maybe it could be improved by messing with settings or adding some sort of processing filter in OBS or something? For now, I'll stick with what I've got (Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless). Amazon had the wired for under $70 (wireless for under $100, or under $60 if you don't mind a yellow headset), it's super light weight, the ear cup design is extraordinarily comfortable, and the sound is far superior.

Erhmm....I am using game one right out of my motherboard mic input and all I get are praises on how clean I sound..U might be doing something wrong. In my experience, the Mic input on soundcards can sound bad.

I like them ,,, other than my hair pomade getting on it a time or two... I just wipe it off, and I am good to rock-n-roll. Let me know what you think of them when you play around with them.
If your gaming on console just do yourself a favor and buy the Sennheiser audio adapter on Amazon don't cheap out on other adapters they make the headset cut off and sometimes that adapter is on sale!

I like this one so much that even when the cable did break (they are VERY longliving) I immediately bought the same one again :) But I got the white one! Sorry I can't tune in anymore, but with Summertime active we are now at a whopping 9h time difference :D

The Game One has a replacable cable, it can easily be swapped out for a new one without shelling out the full price for another headset.

i am planning on getting this headset, but i just have one question, with the sound leak, will people im on a call with hear echos of their voice or any of my music? im okay with anyone around me irl hearing something but i just need to know if it will intervene with me calling. I need technical support! I bought two different pairs of these for my Xbox One, and upon plugging them into the controller (this happened with BOTH of them) I only get sound out of the left ear, and the microphone doesn't pick up anything at all. Someone PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong!

If you can help: Got these as a replacement for my U320s but find that the mic is so quiet that I have to boost the gain, and I have massive leakage of the audio into my mic, muting with the boom function does nothing qwq
Try checking in audio, party, or broadcast settings. Sometimes you can turn up the audio on the device you are streaming from.

I have the Siberia v2 but I wear it behind the neck most of the time since I output through speakers and the thing that drives me crazy is that any movement of the headset creates noise in the mic.

I have this mic with a good voicemeeter config. People told me that my mic sounds like a studio mic lel. The only problem is, with or without software there is a little bit static noise.
Interesting - I dont get any static noise on mine... Is your gain too high or is your cord laying on another power cord by chance?
I previously played a bit with the volume of my mic via windows but still a little bit of noise. And there is no cord on my headset cord.
I would buy a card sound, it's the best to use Game One.

@@Wild4 Hm, i mean it took a while for it to break (at least 3 years), just via normal every day usage. Its kind of a bummer, because the headphones themselves are still going strong (almost 7 years now). I once tried to repair it myself so that the mic would always be on, but the organs of my headphone looked different to the ones shown in a self-repair video I found, so... :S I think I will wait till the headphones themselves fail on me, then its going to be a Sennheiser Game One for sure :D

Good review overall, but I do want to mention that I don't think you should consider the open-backed design as a con. Open-backed headphones are supposed to do that in order to give you a larger sound stage. Open headphones are generally a pro unless you're going to use them in a public environment or there is a lot of sound around you that you want to block out. But as for general sound quality and positional awareness, open is the way to go.
I prefer open back because I like to hear my doorbell, if my dogs bark or need to go out or if someone’s trying to break in lol

Got therm recently and I honestly don't think they're worth the price. Mic is nice but that's where my compliments end. The earmuffs are kinda slim and uncomfortable, don't offer any soundproofing whatsoever, and press my glasses onto my head. There's much better options for what you're paying

Somebody please tell me there is a secret switch to push to give these headphones some loud volume and bass. Yea the mic sound good, but the volume to play a game is horrible, buy these if you want to hear your girl sexy voice online, but for gameplay this is my worst pair ever.

@@thelandballin747 youre not going to get loud sound on the ps4. its the ps4 not the headset, and either way the max volume on ps4 is more than enough unless you wish to burst your eardrums.
