Josh Anderson netted a pair as the Montreal Canadiens staved off the New York Islanders' late comeback in a 5-3 win. Brock Nelson got the scare started, scoring two goals for New York to open the third frame, but they were unable to finish it off.

That ovation to Anderson was sweet. Haters are gonna burry their head in stat sheets and barck some nonsenses but true fans that have been watching him know how hard he's been working. Congrats, Andy. You deserve it!

3:52 beautiful defensive play by Cole on this play...wow!
It really was. I've seen him do that multiple times this season. Another area of his game that is developing
People are wondering where is scoring when lol The guy was practicing is defensive play. He's a way more complete player now.
@@lndependentMind👉👉 lmao MF don't know what it means. Dllm, dllmh, dllmgh. What are you afraid of😂😂
Loved to see Anderson, ending his goal drought with 2 goals no less in this game, and a much needed win for the Habs.
5:35 I swear, the Montreal Canadiens has the loudest crowd in the NHL
Ui .
We're the loudest crowd, we have the largest arena in North America and third most valuable team
goes without saying...
Was there any doubt?
@@lndependentMind no, YM is undoubtedly worship mine, so she kisses mine & you know what
Brock Nelson is having a very underrated season. Been a fan of his since his college days and I love to see him do well.
Hes underrated period
Can you believe this video is the same length as the one of the 1-0 game between Detroit and Philadelphia
Each team had a really bad two-minute span where they allowed two goals. Outside of those stretches it was 2-1 Habs plus the empty-netter. A very deserved two-goal game for Anderson, and the top line finally gets a 5-on-5 goal. I think Montembeault could have saved the first Islanders goal; the other two, not his fault.
slafkovsky est solide
MSL said they need to play inside more, and that’s what they did. Why didn’t they do that before? I have no idea, but it’s nice to see the big guns scoring. Fun fact two former Habs d-men in Reilly and Romanov were -3 tonight I think?
I'd say it's a whole process, the players in that team young guns and old warriors alike had to grow their game in so many areas, this bit of work only comes now. The other huge one I'm happy to see finally improving (although it has yet to fully click and, most importantly, get us goals) is the PP animation, we see our guys with better "in & out" positioning to create more dynamism (used to be so frustratingly static and predictible), blur more efficiently the shooting chances from the goalie & the main defending pair's sight, and overall open angles for better shots. It's getting more and more ready for the integration next season of new potential leaders from the blue line like Mailloux or maybe even Hutson later on, if not Xhekaj beforehand, as he's been showing truly laudable improvement on that with Laval and is showing good chemistry with Logan overall.
The Habs need to improve in defence. But glad to see the key players score goals. Especially Josh Anderson, an Ontario guy.

So fun to watch. Go Habs!!!
It's scary watching the Habs play. That team is not very impressive at defending their lead. I knew from experience that after ending the second period 4 - 0 Habs. Things were about to change for the worst. And I was not wrong. They almost suffered from a NYI comeback. Yes Habs won at the end, but it was a close one again. Makes me wonder sometimes if the Habs a cursed or something. I am sure that even if they where ahead by 10 goals one day, they would find a way to let the opponent make a comeback.
Yes. 🙌
I think it was 1971 or 1972 in the playoffs with Chicago and Tony Esposito was in nets for Chicago and Dryden for Montreal. I believe Montreal won 10-9....it was a game where last shot won.
Good results for the Habs on a bad night for Laval

Can’t take your foot off the gas pedal, almost blew the lead
Nick Suzuki and the Montreal Canadiens win over Brock Nelson and the New York Islanders 🏒🔴🔵⚪🇨🇦 Montreal Canadiens went up to 13-13-4 (30 points), while the New York Islanders dropped to 14-8-8 (36 points).
They need to protect a lead better. They were up on Pitt the other night and lost in a shoot out. Tonight they have stains in their undies for allowing NY to get back into it. Still need a consistent goal scorer.
This happens when they sit and shut down offence. The players are still to inexperienced to keep the foot on the gas pedal
@@appletile2887 True. Montreal still needs to find a consistent goal scorer, something they haven't had in a very very long time (Richer two 50 seasons and Damphouse). Plus they need to find another shutdown goalie.

For all of you NHL Betters always bet against the islanders in there second game of back to back games they are 0-4 This year and next week they have Washington in the 2nd game of back to backs, good luck cashing in on the Books. Books.
Slafkovský by mal pri jeho hmotnosti venovať veľkú pozornosť ostriu korčúľ.
BlackHawks finished with 59 points last season. Montreal finished with 68. Which means that if Montreal would have lost 4.5 games last year, they would have got Connor Bedard. But they decided to win. Every win was a loss.
Bedard realistically should've been a Jacket or a Duck. This makes no sense
Blackhawks are a cool team with cool Jersies I ain't mad. Hopefully caufield and suzuki continue to improve.
It still would have been a lottery though, so that isn’t guaranteed, but I do understand your point
Nhl is rigged by Bettman guys.

It amazes me how many NHL players chase the puck instead of tying up the man or staying with their man. They literally stop from hitting people all the time, its turning in to soccer. thats why i can't watch iit, give it a few more years. whatever
