In this series, I am discussing common fears and obsessions that people with OCD experience. In this episode, I am going to discuss the fear of having obsessions or intrusive thoughts pop up, along with the fear of getting anxious and getting stuck in OCD. This is a common fear where the individual experiences unwanted intrusive thoughts related to regressing or falling back into the OCD loop.
So in this episode, I am going to talk about some common thoughts people experience, common compulsions that are performed, and what to do if this ever pops up for you. Click here to get instant access to the workshop: restoredminds.com/breaking-fr...

  • I think you just hit the nail on the head. Anxiety tried to take us into a theoretical future that we can’t handle. But we’ve always been able to handle right now.

  • This one hit me hard Matt, I’ve gone years worrying “what if my intrusive thoughts come back/never leave and sabotage my life for eternity?” or “what if OCD is incurable and there’s no hope for a future?” on an endless loop. Thanks again ❤️

  • Thanks for your videos! I used to think I was crazy for having this condition. And the “What if’s” were intense and miserable. Glad I’m not the only one.

  • I haven’t been able to be home in a month. I’ve been staying with my mom because I had a horrible intrusive thought during marijuana and cigarette withdrawal and have not been able to let it go. I’m living in fear of losing control, having thoughts or acting on the thought I had. I have been questioning everything wondering who I am, if I’m capable of doing such a thing etc; hoping you see this. Seeking help 🙏🏼😞

    • Hi, I know you posted this comment five months ago so I’m a bit late but I hope that your are doing better :) I’ve been going through something very similar to this and it has really shook me to my core. To see that I’m not alone in this reignites my will to get better. I hope that you are doing better now but if not, you are not alone. I truly wish the best for you 💕

  • This is what kinds confuses me. I'm not supposed to neutralize the thought but yet not get caught up in it?lol so I do this a lot. I'm afraid of getting an obsession about anything and say "maybe maybe not" but at the same time I talk to myself like "it's a thought. Don't interact with it cause then you'll get caught it" and ect. So that'd kinda be neutralizing it right? Idk it just confuses me
