I thought it was decent. Like the parallels it highlighted at the end, and the score was pretty haunting, too.
I swear most of the movies nominated this year have pretty stupid plot

@@MartialMovieManC What I heard is when the dog got Overdosed, he was actually acting like that but unfortunately, he couldn't open his eyes widely, later they have to CGI'd his eyes. But still, the dog's movement and facial expression look so real.

I know this isn't brought up often for a ton of reasons, but Jonathon Glazer's speech on the war on Gaza is genuinely one of the modt powerful and important speeches that have ever happened at the Oscar's, PERIOD. This is one of the most consistently amazing Oscar ceremonies I've ever witnessed, and that speech by Jonathon Glazer almost made me shed tears.

I loved Past Lives, and it was my personal favorite movie of last year. It was nice to see a simple but very relatable story told really well and sincerely. But I'll also be realistic and say that while Past Lives is exactly the kind of indie darling to get an Oscar nomination, it's never going to win anything.

Yes, it does indeed have relevance. To genocide in Ukraine, to biggest war in Europe since WW2, to history repeating itself (propaganda, false justification of invasion, similar methods, similar atrocities..., But good on y'all to miss that. An Honest trailer for the Dune Scifi channel miniseries would be neat to do, not only to tie unto Dune but also prep people on what to expect for possible adaptations of Dune Messiah and Children of Dune.

Be serious, the film community would never unite around the monster movie, it would need to be the greatest movie in existence. You should be grateful it got the one nomination, they could have easily gone for some other Hollywood blockbuster.

So many deserving movies didn't get the nominations but still most of the nominees feels deserving one of the best years in Cinema ❤
Is that why they increased it from five nominations to ten, because too many movies were missing out on being recognised or was it an opportunity for the Academy to take more bribes?

I loved Oppenheimer and definetely think it deserves best picture, but man, that JFK namedrop was so awkward. Like they could have just has Stauss' aid just casually list the three senators that killed his nomination, but no, they had to build it up like a huge cheer moment: "Some Senator from Massachusetts trying to make a name for himself, John F Kennedy" (which isn't even true, BTW, Kennedy was already well known by then) Glad honest trailers called that out. It really did feel like an MCU moment.

For the first time i've seen all nominated best picture films
The cut to the Beekeeper movie and all the Bee puns was all time classic... kudos to the editing and writing team on that.
Make an Honest Trailer for Megamind
An underrated movie for sure. Normally when my kids start watching something I expect it to be fairly stupid, not so with Megamind.
Would love to see them do both films, just to praise the first and then tear that new one to shreds.
Megamind is amazing. It has just gotten better with age, and it was so much better than Despicable Me. And I just learned that they made a sequel, watched the trailer now and was horrified at it.

The Screen Junkies rundown of Killer of the Flower Moon was pretty accurate. The acting is good, and the characters are complex. Also, the story is depressingly accurate, and needs to be told. The only really bad thing about this film is its runtime. This was a story that did not need to be told over a period of 3-1/2 hours; 1.5 hours would have been plenty.
If it weren't for this channel, I would not know that the Oscars were still a thing.
"I think I'll take the bee" this line alone convinced me to watch the movie, I'm sold.
