Bonjour à tous,
Back In 2020, one family risked everything to follow a dream, to restore a beautiful abandoned french chateau. Using all there life saving, the family where the new owners of a building that had not been lived in for over 40 years. In 2021 the family set to work on bringing back to life this beautiful forgotten building. Now one year on since the start of the renovations, we take a look at all the hard work in renovating the stunning bathroom on the third floor.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

  • I can see why this room is Ash's favorite-- it's stunning right down to the smallest of details (Champaign-flute holders for two mounted near the tub? YES, please!). I'm sure after a long day of hard scrap around the chateau and grounds, this room is a welcome respite! Wonderfully done! It is exquisite! 🙌👏

  • Absolutely incredible.. How you never threw in the towel when you were pulling the rocks out of an exterior wall that is holding up roof beams is beyond me. Your tenacity should be praised, your courage to even attempt a daunting endeavor is admired. Attention to detail, OMG the silver wine glass holder..what you have done in a year is outstanding, and as always your taste is exquisite.. Lots of admiration and love from Canada

  • Somehow, I subscribed long ago. Just caught another episode! Why they were not coming up in subscriptions or recommended areas of YT who knows. YT is not known for fairness or normalcy. I'll be marathoning/bingeing these today. How I wish my father were alive to watch these videos with me. Like all of you, he was a carpenter, a painter, a tiler, a drywaller, a plasterer, a finisher, plus my father was an engine mechanic, a roofer, spoke 5 languages, a musician, scuba diver, a chemist, a plumber, a bricklayer, an electrician, a boat captain and pilot, a U.S. Navy Seaman and a great father. He so would have loved watching all these episodes! I am thoroughly enjoying watching each and every episode of your journey to update and preserve the history of you Bellisemo Chateau. I feel my fathers presence beside me enjoying each and every episode as well. Even telling me how he would have done something differently or how he like the way you did this or that. My Father is Very Loved and Very Missed. I thank all of you for you good nature, hard work, and committment to finish what you started. Its a beautiful thing to see. Thank You All for bringing it into my home for viewing. I really appreciate it!

  • What a transformation! It's a beautiful space to start and end the day. HINT: You might want to remove the pendulum clock from the bathroom. The extra moisture, from showering and bathing, is not good for it in the long run.

  • As Susan Southern said, it’s one thing to be handy but what you have done with your design, your eye for color, matching furniture ….everything is so luxurious without making you scared to touch or sit down.   • I have watched you work so very hard, doing back-breaking work on this chateau, for what seems like forever. To know that you have this gorgeous apartment to go "home" to just makes my heart happy. I can just image how good it must feel to unwind in that bathtub after a hard day's work. You deserve it!   • Initially thought the musical accompaniment was the theme from ‘Star Wars’, but then it softened and became more romantic. This is the most beautiful and most romantic bathroom I’ve ever seen.   • As expected, a marvellous final result. So clever to subdivide the wall with masking tape, knowing that the gap would be covered by a dado rail made from a moulding. It looks amazing 🥰

  • It's absolutely amazing what you all have achieved. I don't know how you kept the energy and motivation going but I'm so impressed that you did. I've enjoyed seeing the transformation of so many objects, not just the buildings themselves. And you've worked on the outside as well. It's really a testament to how much can be achieved by a group with a great work ethic, a vivid dream and a lot of energy.
