The S2-C is another banger from Zowie's C series refresh.
Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a good claw grip mouse.

  • 5:45 this is exactly my feelings... When you look at pictures before buying it you can think that the shape is so comfy and smooth. But when in hands your feelings completely opposite, it feels so agressive, like a brick or a box with sharp angles on the sides. They should make it smoother or add a little hump instead of cutting it off

  • Opinions on S2-C vs NP-01 for someone with 18.5*9 hands? Leaning towards the S2 since the shape seems safer and I appreciate the lower weight but the Vaxee is definitely something I would also want to try. Willing to paracord and switch skates on both, so just wondering about shape vs shape. Loving the reviews, I've been binging your channel the past couple of days!

    @ItsGenn@ItsGenn2 жыл бұрын
    • An S2-C would be much safer and the shape will feel far more balanced. The NP-01 leans hard into having a large back that fills out your hand as much as possible which would be love it or hate it depending on how you feel about the bulkiness. Personally, I think that it restricts my range of motion and ability to use my fingers to aim, but with a different style that doesn't use these motions, you would have no issues and feel super locked in. The weight difference isn't that drastic because the np-01 is larger and it feels like the weight difference between them is pretty proportional. The S2-C is so solid and well-rounded that it should probably be your next pickup but I do think that it's pretty boring compared to the np-01. The ergo-ambi hybrid shape is really cool and gives it a unique feel while the s2 is just a simple claw mouse.

      @KraftyCraftKraf@KraftyCraftKraf2 жыл бұрын
  • Nice review, I liked the comparisons. Do any of those mice have a flare out in back in between the S2 and np-01? I'm kind of the opposite of you where the narrow back on the S2 killed my aim but the np-01 was way too hand filling. I tried the np-01s, but it felt like almost a completely different shape and pretty much forced you into a relaxed claw grip.

    @2old2steak@2old2steak2 жыл бұрын
    • I think the xm1 would be a good choice. The hump flare feels like it strikes a middle ground between the two. It still feels wide for the extra support but the diamond shape feels like it tucks into your hand when you pull it back instead of filling out your palm like the np-01. Xm1 is super high quality, too, so it feels great to use. The burst pro could be an option as well. The hump size is similar to the np-01, but the lack of ergo curves and general rounded feel of the humps shape stops itself from assimilating with your hand as much. The np-01s is so differnent from the np-01. I don't think that I would have identified it as an np-01 shape off of the hand feel alone if I blind-tested it at first. I actually use a very aggressive grip on the np-01s, though. I would recommend you try the shape again, but get your hand higher up on the hump and curl your fingers and thumb back further to meet the right-side curve and thumb groove. I liked the shape much more after I learned this grip.

      @KraftyCraftKraf@KraftyCraftKraf2 жыл бұрын
    • @@KraftyCraftKraf Thanks, and I'll give the np-01s another try and see if I can break my brain into liking it. With a traditional claw grip it just felt like nothing special unlike the np-01, kind of like a thinner and less comfortable fk2 or viper. And it has some points over the fk2 but it's hard to turn down good optical switches and wireless.

  • Great review! Yeah, the build quality is top notch. It's unacceptable that Fedex delivered your product in that demolished state. Glad your mouse survived the external box damage! As for the S2-C, I guess I had super high expectations on this mouse. I loved my older S2 which was roughly 86 grams. This S2-C at 70+ grams still feels rather bulky in comparison to my XM1r (even though they weigh the same on my scale - the XM1r just feels 'lighter' for some reason). I just think Zowie could've just done so much more, especially at this price point of $69.99 USD

    @vespa731@vespa7312 жыл бұрын
    • I think the xm1r feeling lighter is because it's a little bit larger in the back. It seems that density and weight distribution are almost more important than the total weight itself. I agree with zowie doing more. I think the quality makes the price worth it for me personally, but it's hard to ignore the lack of features you should get for the price, especially when something like the Xlite wireless is $75.

    @rixxy5334@rixxy53342 жыл бұрын
    • The shapes feel very different in hand. You have to consider that the tiniest differences, just a millimeter here or there, can make the hand feel of two mice completely separate experiences. The S2 feels notably larger in every dimension but the biggest difference is in the hump. The viper mini is a modified, higher-profile FK shape so the highest point is in the middle and doesn't make much contact with your hand. The rear hump on the S2 feels much larger and fills your hand significantly more.

    @Zyerix1@Zyerix12 жыл бұрын
    • The s2 will feel much thinner than the xm1 at the back. It’s a super easy recommendation to make too because of how universal the shape is for claw. You may like something else more, but it’s hard to go wrong with the s2-c I feel.

  • Maybe the bad scrollwhell can be explained by how FedEx treated the package?🤔

    @ricardofreitas2236@ricardofreitas22362 жыл бұрын
    • It actually could be. I never considered that it could have gotten smashed into the mouse or something. The scroll does feel very similar to my undamaged EC3-C, though, so I think it might just be how Zowie designed the scroll for the S series.

    • @@KraftyCraftKraf Yea I believe you, but Boardzy and 2 other youtubers said theurs were complety good ( for zowie standards ) and had no problems what so ever. It could simply be a QC issue but to be honest I think the most fair and probable explanation is that FedEx fucked ur mouse because You said the package was completly damaged and the plastic that holds the mouse came wrinkled. If I were you, I would get in contact with the company that sold you the mouse and try to explain the situation and try to RMA it if you explained your situation. Hope I could help in any way.

  • Which mice would you recommend for large hands 20.5x11cm for an extended fingertip grip?

    @thedharmabum@thedharmabum2 жыл бұрын
    • I have much smaller hands (18x9cm) and I use a very aggressive fingertip when a mouse allows it so I'm not the best judge of what can work for you. However, I do still think the FK-C series could work well for you. They are very low profile so even an extended grip won't put your hand in contact with the body of the mouse. I personally use a claw/ftip hybrid with the fk2 and like how much freedom I get from the low profile shape limiting palm contact. At your hand size and with a relaxed grip, the fk2 wouldn't come close to contacting the base of your palm or the rest of your fingers. It might be a little too thin for an 11cm width, though, so you could get cramps. The fk1 would be a little safer I think. The Orochi v2 is also a good option for fingertip. It's very short and gives a great range of motion. It is also quite high profile so you would feel the curves follow along your fingers when you lay them flat across the top. It is also very wide at the grip so you shouldn't have issues with your hand size. However, the egg shape can be polarizing and you may not like the convex sides.

I'm looking for a small mouse with a large hump. Something like my Hati-S, but with a larger hump. Should I try this one? Or it is almost as wide and big as the XM1?

    @idanakiva12@idanakiva122 жыл бұрын
    • The hump feels much smaller on the S2 than the XM1, but the s2 is still quite long, especially compared to the Hati-s, so it doesn't feel that much smaller in hand. It is definitely a medium mouse despite what Zowie says. The ZA-13 might be your best bet. I haven't tried the shape yet but the mm710 is very similar dimensions wise and it feels to me like what you are describing.

  • Difference between stock feet and tiger ice? Thanks

    @Hunzh647@Hunzh6472 жыл бұрын
    • Zowie stock feet feel very controlled and add a lot of friction to most pads, but are still fairly smooth once broken in. Tiger ice are significantly faster and feel much more glidey in comparison. Both the initial and dynamic friction on tiger ice is much lower. They are also smoother on the more textured surfaces that Zowie feet feel less satisfying on. I love how tiger ice feels and they have my favorite glide, but I feel I lose a little bit too much control due to how low the friction can be at times. Instead, I prefer corepads because they still have that premium feel and a faster glide than stock feet while still retaining a controlled feeling on textured surfaces. I would highly recommend replacing Zowie feet because aftermarket options feel much more premium and will turn an already great product into a perfect one.

  • How has your experience with the SkyPad been?

    @thesneakerchamp23@thesneakerchamp232 жыл бұрын
    • The surface performance feels insane. It's very fast but the texture gives you a lot of feedback and makes it feel very controllable for being a full speed pad. Glass also feels impossibly consistent. It is the most reliable pad I have ever tried for creating a uniform surface feel in all conditions and everywhere on the pad. Once you get used to the feel of glass, I feel you can still get very consistent performances on it with the high peaks that speed pads give. However, glass still has some drawbacks. I notice my arm and fingers sticking to the pad a lot when it warms up and gets more humid which feels terrible. A sleeve helps greatly but I like the feel of the surface against my arm when it's not sticky so I try to use one as little as possible. The tiniest speck of dust also ruins the glide. I have to constantly wipe the pad and my mouse feet down with a microfiber cloth to make sure this doesn't happen. It is annoying to use a pad this high maintenance. I highly value pads that I never have to think about while I'm using them, so these drawbacks prevent me from maining the pad despite the incredible performance of the surface.

    • Thank you for watching, Yes, there is a huge difference between stock feet, Zowie especially, and aftermarket ones on the Skypad. The Skypad is highly dependent on the feet that you use. Most stock skates feel quite scratchy and unsatisfying. I find that tiger ice feet feel the best on the Skypad. They are buttery smooth and feel amazing on the surface. Corepads feel good as well, not quite as smooth, but still really close. They are a better value, though, since you get two sets per pack. All feet will create a loud sound on the pad. As long as you keep it clean and use good feet it is still bearable.

  • Xm1r vs Zowie S2/Zowie S2-C?

    @Me-tp6ll@Me-tp6ll2 жыл бұрын
    • I like the s2-c more personally. The shape is more neutral and comfortable for me which I feel helps me play with greater consistency. Its hump is also much thinner and allows for a greater range of motion without the back flare hitting the sides of your hand. The s2-c in general is a much more safe shape for claw and a very easy recommendation for almost anyone. The xm1r is still a great shape though, but it is a little bit more niche. Its hump is far wider and diamond-shaped so it'll fill out your hand more and add more support, but at the cost of a reduced range of motion. It is also much more aggressively curved all around which gives it a very specific feel that you'll either love or hate. If you like the unique shape and aggressive design of the xm1r, it can be an incredible mouse, but the s2-c will be far more universal.
