  • Shes like "What the heck are you doin to me woman?", then at the end, "oh! Ok! I can dig it!" Great work Katie! I always love watching you work!

  • I have to admit- I don't know much about your craft-- but I love watching you work- it just amazes me how relaxed the animals are- just like they know how good a great haircut feels. Most of them just cradle in and seem to enjoy it. You are very talented. Love your posts!!

  • Yayy, sheep shearing ASMR! Such a good feeling watching the fleece cascading to the working humming of the clippers! Excellent video, thank you so much!

  • You must be very strong to wrestle them into position for shearing. I guess they're glad to get rid of that heavy coat too. Nice work.

  • I am so glad to see you ladies made it through the cold weather. I love watching y'all shear. I'm also going to continue to ask y'all to grab a handful raw wool each sheep y'all shear there has to be a small little amount y'all can grab and I will pay for the postage to have it sent to me, please. If y'all grab a handful from every job, even a half a handful, by the end of the season you could have me quite a bit. I'm pretty sure I told you that I use that in my black powder rifle. The lanolin in the wool helps to lubricate and keep the fowling down, sorry that's how my phone spelled it. Thank you for the video and again I'm glad y'all made it through the winter great. Y'all think about it now. Thanks

  • I'm afraid that if I learned to shear, and I'm sure I'd do it well because of my attention to detail, but if I did I'd be talking and swearing - just like I do when I drive. And you're as calm and quiet as can be. You're an ideal I can aspire to be 😊

  • I like when u get to take ur time bcuz the clip comes out much tighter... I would love to get into shearing here in the Northern VA area. I've been a dog groomer/vet tech for 30+ yrs & I also body clip horses so sheep, alpaca & llamas are, if anything, a lot less critter to clip 😂

    • Hi! I’m from Manassas. I live in NJ now. Not to many sheep here, but lots of llamas, alpaca and horses! I imagine, you have a good basis for shearing, with your experience with the doggos. Best of luck! Maybe someone would let you apprentice?

    • Consider you will need a strong back so prepare yourself for exercises to strengthen your back and legs. Farriers have the same considerations.

  • Do you train sheep to be okay with this or is it somehow ingrained in them to let it happen? I’m thinking of me trying to brush my dog and how much of a fight he puts up 😂

    @KEMIRANDA173@KEMIRANDA173 Жыл бұрын
    • Great question! It’s a bit of both. As sheep and humans evolved together, they were selected for being docile while shearing. However, if the sheep is uncomfortable or in pain, it’ll fight. So while some breeds are pretty docile based off of selection (not every breed) we still have to work to keep them happy enough in our arms. 🤘🏻
