I was so into all the god of war games and still love them and when l played dmc 5 and then the rest of the series, l was surprised to how cool dmc games are!! Dmc 5 is ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER EXISTED!!! FREAKING LOVE IT!!!

I think you should check out Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. While the combat is not as flashy as Devil May Cry, the combat mechanism in that game is another kind of beast.
True! it's games like sekiro that reminds me that what makes games truly fun is interactivity, I find the boss battles of sekiro to be even more entertaining then even that of the souls series.

@@slkjvlkfsvnlsdfhgdght5447 may seem basic yes, but I praised it's interactivity, not complexity, the deflect-attack pattern keeps you focused on the fight more than dodge-attack like in dark souls, plus dont forget about unparryable attacks and such, it's not tied down to simply spamming the deflect button, there's memorization and reflexes in the boss battles.

@@slkjvlkfsvnlsdfhgdght5447 No Vergil is Mastering one weapon 1000 times whereas Dante is Mastering 1000 weapons there is a difference. Vergil is definitely QUALITY because Vergil moves are so cool that it inspired multitude of games to copy his moves. Ff16, Genshin are some examples.
God of war was inspired in rygar much more than dmc. GOW do not feature a lock on system and has a more destiny warriors style of combat,also cory barlog said that GOW originaly wasn't going to have air combat,and that's like a big signature of dmc. I think berserk for the dreamcast was more important for GOW than DMC, because DMC doesn't have QTE to finish bosses.
Dmc5 has a handful of annoying bumps in the road imo, like enemies teleporting out of your combos and a handful of enemies being a “just parry it lol” guy and some of the late game bosses being way too tanky, and hell playing as V puts me to sleep But apart from all that the stuff it does puts it into my favourite game list. The cameo system making levels feel more like a connected world rather than having the game go “just trust me bro”, and stuff like nightmare having different spawning animations based on where you spawn it. Its got a lot of small interactions in its levels that come together to put it a touch above other games that rival it gameplay wise
If you think that's bad then you should see DMC4's Chimeras. They literally always have an active hit box on their whole body meaning they can hit you as you're juggling them. The best part is that the hit box shrinks and grows at random, meaning you would think you're completely fine while comboing them in one moment and then you'll get sent flying away in the next one.
@@soulcyclone360 nah chimeras are whatever, they have reliable counterplay as shooting them until they turn black disables them for a while, making them act like a regular unchimerad enemy. Dmc4 in general has the best cast in the entire series by far due to each enemy having reliable counters and usually more than 1 way to go about dealing with them which makes it very fun
@@multistuff9831 I'd have to disagree there, the enemies themselves aren't bad in a vacuum or on lower difficulties but while trying to deal with literally everything else it's a gateway to an aneurysm. Even DMC3 at it's worst doesn't have half the issues DMC4's enemies have, I'd take a room full of Fallen over a room full of Blitz any day of the week.
@@multistuff9831 plus, the "easy counters" can usually be boiled down to a one note knowledge check. Like "Hey, remember to use your guns right here before you eat dirt" or "unless you want to wait another five minutes before you can move on remember to use Pandora while using air trick jump cancels". It often feels like busy work and box ticking once you get over the basic learning curve.
@@soulcyclone360 even on dmd, the blitz can be disabled instantly with a distorted lv1 straight from gilgamesh or lucifer arrows or you can attack it while holding royal guard to get free style+revenge meter. On dmd in dmc3, enigmas can one shot you while theyre back dashing away from you even if youre in dt. Enigmas are awful to deal with unless you have nevan/spiral/gunslinger, the fallen are incredibly boring and have no counterplay other than dps racing, soul eaters in general… dmc4 rewards experimentation, especially with dante, who has several ways to deal with his enemies. In fact, mephistos are the most fun version of that enemy archetype in the entire series just because there’s several ways you can deal with them - the easiest being omen which fully gets rid of their cloak no matter how full your desomething bar is
well, they had to show all those other franchises who's boss.
3 and 4 might have some aspects that make them arguably better, but the enemies you fight in 3 and 4 can be incredibly infuriating, while most of 5’s roster is actually fun to fight.
God of war 3, Kingdom hearts trilogy but especially 2 final mix, Final Fantasy 7 remake and Rebirth and of course Devil may cry series except the second one.
