I always enjoy watching you work. No chat. No music. Just good craftsmanship. Simple but well made and beautiful art. I hope you continue to share with us ❤
Mooi om naar te kijken prima
Brilliant!
The mans ingenuity never ceases to amaze.
Cool artist,amazing ideas,enjoy Watching you
Absolutely beautiful. Minimalist in all the right ways to showcase its qualities.
The ultimate glue-up...a whole log! Very nice.
You are a genius - the design work and technique are quite remarkable, not to mention the tools themselves! Never seen a brace like that, but I have seen many a lathe operator on KZhead lose their amazing creation when it flies off the lathe... That is a great solution!
Best video I have seen to date on the 'first cut' stage. Thanks.
Simple yet elegant💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Spectacular finish
A hybrid log, wonders never cease with Olivier!!🤣🤣 Another beautiful work of art as usual!
Excellent head banger .good for headache.
Nice vase. That drawer slide leaning bench is genius.
Really cool idea. A really nice shape you come up with also.
That's really interesting putting two different kinds of wood together like that it's awesome great job
Another beautiful work of art!
I do like the shape of your jar and ewer shapes, nice proportions.
Looks fantastic I like very much the to different wood . Thank you 👌👌👌👌
Just LOVE to see you working on such beautiful pieces!
Fabuleux Olivier, quelle maitrise, j'adore, merci de partager ton incroyable savoir faire, ça donne envie d'essayer en tout cas.....
That's awesome I didn't know you could turn that way without coming apart .WOW THAT'S AWESOME .
The end wood grain pattern is stellar. Beautiful, clean, simple form. Great job!
Well done
I can never get over the fact that once you've glued pieces of wood together, and force-pressed them, and cut them evenly, and whatever else you do .. I can't believe they're not the one piece of wood !! :)
To all extents and purpose once glued they are one piece of wood as the glued joint is in-fact stronger than the wood itself.
@@BigButtocks967 Another fact of which I was totally unaware .. Sighhh .. :D
Beautiful craftsmanship.
Beautiful job! Amazing how the grain 'almost' matches...such a cool idea and so well executed! Take care, stay healthy
You are an ARTIST! This is gorgeous 😃
Now I want to see a Turdecken log. Bore out a log and insert another, and another inside the 2nd as well. Maybe after that you could split it and join it with a half of another Turdecken. And then do a quartered version. So on and so on
So beautiful
First time I see the support wheels: very nice for turning a vase where a single catch can break the whole thing to do the length.
Absolutely gorgeous. Love the grains. Nicely done.
The Douglas fir side looks like a cobra face, anyone notice that? Great job, Olivier!
Wow Oliver, this is a fabulous vase, the two different woods look so amazing together. I wonder if you could do the same with, 4 or 6 or 8 different woods, well if anyone could do it, it would only be you. You are far more adventurous than any other turner, everyone else seems obsessed with resins although a centimeter of different colored resin between 4,6,or8 woods would look absolutely amazing. But you perhaps think this is a silly idea. I’ve let my imagination run a little wild xxxxx
Great job. Very beautiful.😊😊💥💥💥
Wow beautiful vase
Great work!
Beautiful classic shape with two faces, very nice
Good job man you do beautiful creations 👍👍
Beautiful
Apparently Lumber is still really expensive over there so Oliver has to go out into the forest to get his wood for his projects.
When the log is spinning on the lathe, it looks like a radioactive symbol because of the shutter speed.
CAPTAIN CRAZY I noticed that also
I thought the same thing
I asked "why does he need a steady rest the size of a table"? Then I remembered it's Olivier Gomis. He turns stuff you can crawl into.
Do longer work pieces without moving the rest
I love that steady rest. I bet he made it, and used roller skate wheels. Genius, I’m telling you!
Interesting, Olivier. I think the coolest thing is how the grain of each piece almost lines up. Billy
My oh my Olivier that is a spectacular and magnificent and stunningly beautiful vase. Thanku
Good video to eat your food while watching
What a fantastic steadyrest
Amazing work
Beautiful grain enjoyed the video Great job
That’s a great looking steady rest
Great work. Keep it up.
Simple yet elegant!
OLIVIER THE VASE THRNED OUT GREAT .LOVE THE SHOP FROM DOUG
Turned out amazing!!!! Could I make a suggestion? Do the same thing with the two different kinds of wood, or three. But before turning it. Drill holes all over and all the way through at different angles and put wood pins through then turn it
Nice job cool putting two dissimilar wood’s together!
I am impressed by house secure that glue is you use. I was watching this going, "I really hope that being spun that fast with the little impacts from the bar doesn't cause them to separate."
Titebond is almost as strong as gorilla glue and is nearly invisible. The wood fibers will tear before that joint will break. We use it on all our projects
Wood glue is surprisingly strong, as long as the glued surfaces make good contact with each other.
@@ragnkja as long as!! I still wouldn't stand to one side of this...
@@nickyork8901 Why do you think he spent so much effort on getting the glue surfaces so perfectly flat?
Very nice, great job 👍
definitely different
Almost looks book matched! Very lucky, indeed.
Luck doesn’t have much to do with it, I suspect. Olivier is a very detailed planner.
Nice 👌🏽👍🏽
So beautiful 😍
The hammering section was a first for me.and as for that steady rest wow.
nice ,thanks for sharing
Beautiful.
The amount of kindling you have just by doing this is be crazy!
Invent a press that can form pallets for stove use. Like the ones used to make the rolled newspaper logs.
Olivier, have you ever put a log on there and just had fun with it...no particular object in mind...just play with the tools and see what happens? Start out with a stump and end up with a spoon handle?
I love it Oliver, cool idea. Keep well, Rob.
Unreal!!!!!
Great idea! It’s beautiful.
WOW!
Nice work!
This is beautiful 😀
very nice indeed
I had this idea! you are faster than me. Well done! good job!
I was thinking quarters.
That is remarkably straight, even, consistent and concentric grain on that ash. Like it was drawn on.
You need a little pen light on your tool to see in to the inside of your pieces with the smaller openings.
Çok güzel oldu, bravo👍🥰🇹🇷
Lovely.
Beautiful piece ❤ 😍
As usual, a very beautiful piece of work. I am a little surprised that you didn't quarter the logs before gluing them together. My apologies for the translation, I used Google Translate. I haven't used my High School French in over 40 years.
Lindo, lindo. Parabéns!!
brilliant so beautiful.
DC Comics' Two-Face would totally steal this for his lair!!!
I happen to make a steady rest called the Tri-Spin which will do precisely what Oliver uses his for. Do look it up.
ang ganda.. believed na ako!
magnifique!
Maravilloso!!!!
pov: mr bean has exiled to france and finally can do what really fulfills him
Okay, been playing Resident Evil too much. For with the woodturning at the beginning, all I could see was the umbrella sign in the wood. Giving the game a rest. >.>
👏👏👏👏👏👍 Brasil
