  • Beautiful demonstration of how the eye/camera interprets gaps in fast-spinning opaque objects. I love how the wood looks almost transparent and the chisel seems ghostly. And on top of that, a stunning piece of work as usual!

    • @@ericastier1646 'decrepid' doesn't mean what you seem to think it means. If you're going to insult someone at least make sure you understand the meaning of the words you're using.

    • @@paultapping9510 Paul you need an English lesson. I used the word 'decrepit' here in in its figurative sense to qualify his "art", not the object of pseudo art. Decrepit among other things can mean worn by sickness which is appropriate for this form of art. And it is not an insult it is a sad fact.

  • I am continually amazed that no matter how oddly shaped the piece is, when he puts in on the lathe it is always perfectly balanced! And as Autumn K mentioned, the portion that appears almost transparent is "the coolest stuff" and absolutely fascinating.

  • The Grain is simple and flowing. The top is like a gentle hands fingers reaching up to hold in what might be inside. Nice Piece Mister Olivier. Your eye for both wood and videography continues to improve. Thanks for sharing.

  • An absoloute unique! It is amazingly beautiful. In my eyes, I see a reminder how beautiful and uniqe nature is, and so is everyone as well of course. Create a 7.000.000.000 vessels, but none will match it. It also sets a reminder, for sometimes, you need to carve out your "inner belongings" like your emotions, for example. Its awesome on how many mind blowing things such little vessel can inspire someone. Never stop treating that value wood, that you carve, like its the last one on this planet, k?

  • I especially liked the way you removed the dovetail at the bottom. I've always been able to reverse the workpiece and remove all but the bit under the tailstock center. Well done sir!
